Some interest in comparisons and differentials between these Patrick you did a great job explaining the subtle differences between the different releases personally nine was my favorite but I hear many others state 10 or 11 as you said it’s always about opinion my friend. Another great video my friend.
I saw the Act 11 scene 1 at Costco $130, I still passed on it 😂
Not a bad price for this year but yeah overpriced at msrp
Great blind. Cheers!
As a big rye drinker I'm sure I'd enjoy these. Yes some may be off but that happens with finished whiskey at times. Not that they are terrible just different. Apparently we have some bottles in my area not sure which ones though. Enjoy!!
I enjoyed all of these but that 9 was just something a little special. Cheers!
Great review. Good job
Thanks for sharing. It’s always interesting to see how new batches good up against some favorites.
Unexpectedly ran into the Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 11 Scene 12 today at a small liquor store in Racine, Wisconsin and picked it up. I was in Wisconsin for work and Googled liquor stores near me or I would have never known about it. 🥃
Nice score Dave! How much did it set you back if you don’t mind me asking? It was 125 at the distillery and 175 in Las Vegas total wine so I’m wondering what the markup around the states has been
@@TheWhiskeyCove $150 plus tax. Then saw it at a 2nd store for $169.99.
@@davevogelsang6791 150 is about what I expect in most states. Glad you scored a bottle Dave
Cheers!
Just picked up a bottle today for $199 in Chicago Land Area. Cheapest I could find it. Ik it was a little expensive, but they had a case sitting on the shelf.
Price is wrong for 189 thousand bottles.....and secondly they ran out of the aged portion so they are adding more port wine to the mix. Stop over paying
Agreed
Are u saying they are adding actual port wine to the liquid or aging it longer in the barrels?
They can't say its a blend of whiskies if you add actual port.
@TheWhiskeyCove yep but thsts what the community understands they are doing. They no longer have the older stock to add. Its not confirmed but nothing else makes sense
@sheepdog5 adding at the end. Thsi is coming from those folks that have been in the business what else makes sense when they ran out of the aged stock?
10 was way better than 9 imo. I can't wait to try 11
Haha my friend and I did a blind between 9 and 10 and we both preferred 9. All about preference though. 10 had a little more barrel oaky quality and 9 gave you more of the port. 10 also has a little more heat to it. Both great drams I'd be happy to have in my bar. I can't wait to get my hands on 11.
9 and 10 were vastly different. If you like more port 9 was the way to go. Thanks for watching!
@@jonathanwilliams1974 agree on the notes you listed. That's why I liked 10 more for sure
@TheWhiskeyCove definitely agree. 10 had a more traditional rye taste with port notes. That's actually why I preferred it. Cheers my fellow whiskey admirer!
@@josephdavis823 Choice is a great thing. Cheers! Oh...just got an 11!!! Can't wait to pop it open this weekend with friends.
I dig doing the line up of recent releases. Do you have any strong thoughts on the Campfire?
It’s very different. Not a big fan personally but I know there are some folks that die for it. It pretty special in a penicillin cocktail though.
10 was more rye than sweet for me, how about a flavor synopsis on the 8 ball you rocked before this video? Damn son.
lol what you talking about
Not good enough to justify 150 bucks is the answer to me.
Yep pretty much man.
Yep. Saw it at Costco $130 and still an easy pass for me 😂
