Excellent review. You were very thorough. I bought one from Costco for my wife for Christmas. She is happy with the size and says its like a second oven and is happy it makes popcorn. Great when we have lots of guests over. We keep it next to our oven so any smoke can be vented out through the oven hood.
Good video. We picked one up at Costco last week on sale. we found it was too big and seemed like maybe it would be hard to clean. we used it once and did not like how hot the doors and edges of the unit got, and not just hot but super hot, burn you instantly hot. we took it back the next day. Not a bad oven just not for us.
I just bought one and I like it. However I dislike that you are not able to bypass the preheat option. If the timer stops and you need to add more time it will preheat again. Very frustrating it is set up like that.

My wife bought this french door air frier oven and it works great. But the beeping sends dogs into a panic. Unfortunately the beep cannot be turned off. So I was forced to take it apart and pry the buzzer off the control board. Nice and quiet now.
Ty so much! Your in-depth reviews have saved me not only money but also saved me from buying 2 air fryers I thought I really wanted that wouldn't really fit my needs or how I cook. I really love the grill feature and probe feature but the units that have them are way to small for me. I realized I could just get a cheaper larger air fry oven and a separate grill and probe for about the same money as a small unit that grills. The Gourmia xl will fit my needs perfectly! As well as my cookware lol
i have the next smaller model and i love it, had it for about a year, only thing i have to add is depending on what your making you may have to rotate what ur cooking halfway thru because the back gets done a little quicker. Alot of times it does not matter jsut sometimes it does.

Actually, Walmart has both. And, they do have the XL on sale for $50, but sold out of stock. Walmart did not name the XL as "XL", but they have both. (And their larger one is this same XL.) Check their Black Friday listings. Or if you search "gourmia" on their front page, you will have to scroll for a while. But it's there $50.

I was just about to purchase this one...all does sound worthy...friend of mine has a cooking Channel "Amy Learns to Cook..." and she just loved this unit....further down the road though, after using not more than on occasion...she did video on how very hot the front gets & when she opens the door, she is afraid each time she might get burned...Also...her doors do not close properly after occasional use... I do think all things are worthy of telling viewers so that is why I am mentioning it....I know you haven't had those experiences, but I also read on other's reviews about both the hot front & concern that if they weren't very aware of keeping arms out of the way when pulling things out...they might in fact get burned. I watched video today of your review of the Double Oven..Ninja & you mentioned this one most liked over that one...and no problems on your end for this machine in either of the two things I mentioned... My wife just got me one for my birthday. She ordered it from eBay. I think it was returned because the plug was missing a prong. Long story short, I fixed the plug, but I don't have any instructions or recipes. Thanks for the info.

I have that same oven. I have struggled to make any food crunchy. I am going to buy a small basket cooker for crunchy foods. It did great with canndied sweet potatoes for 30 people though.. Good review!

Just bought this oven and am over the moon happy with your demonstration. I will be watching it a few times more to remember everything. The one thing i wanted to know though is can you set the time on the oven? Not for cooking time but for regular time?
Bought this crappy oven at Walmart for 89.00 in October 2023. Wasted money I could of saved, now it won't go no further than 250 degrees when it supposed to go 450 degrees. Very disappointed and lost my receipt 😑
Do you have any videos talking about your favorite air fryers? I watched your video about the Ninja Foodi and at the time that was your favorite but that was 2 years ago, was curious if it still held up. I’m looking for a toaster oven combo one as I don’t really want one with Teflon.
I noticed you moved your chicken down because of the position of the fan. . . Everyone seems to think hot air is coming from that fan. Wrong! Air is entering that fan and by lowering your chicken to expose it to the fan you may have subject the fan to spattering from the chicken. Also, by moving your chicken down, you moved it further away from the source of hot air, which comes from the top. This may be why you needed the extra 5 minutes cook time. Air enters the fan on the lower right and travels outside the oven, up over the top of the top heating elements. The air then reenters the oven, flows down around the top heating elements, where it is heated, and from there, down onto the food. This provides good wide and even distribution of hot air for the frying effect. On the small gap between the doors loosing heat?? This is insignificant compared to the massive heat loss around the extremely hot outside surfaces. The heating elements compensate for all the heat loss. (By not insulating the oven they offer more interior space.) My main complaint about the doors is that if I leave them open to heat my kitchen, the GTF7660 shuts off with an over heat display of E006 and won't restart without momentarily unplugging. Not a malfunction. Just an annoying safety feature. Lack of function preset memory is a big negative in my view. I have found, however, that it will shorten or eliminate preheat if oven is hot, which you did not experience in your tests. Thanks for your excellent review.

This product sucks. The so called Air fryer does absolutely nothing accept heat up the food - there is very little crispness, if any and chicken tenders come out soggy and the breading is never fully cooked through. Trust me when I say this products design and features are a joke and a bad one at that. I get better quality baking chicken wings, tenders, fries etc etc in my standard oven. I will NEVER again purchase or use anything this company designs/manufactures regardless of the circumstances, I will NEVER recommend this companies appliances, if I ever hear anyone saying they are thinking of purchasing a gourmia appliance I will do everything I can to steer them away from gourmia. And be sure to check out the gap in the door. A simple fix that gourmia refuses to fix. I wonder how much heat escapes through that gap and I wonder how there could possibly be a consistent flow of heat as a result of that gap?? There is a reason why you are not supposed to open a door when baking something in the oven. Evidently the ppl at gourmia missed that elementary lesson when they mistakenly believed they "got it"
@@WaveOvenRecipes just to be clear, I stand 110% behind my review. You don't think a gap would cause heat loss or inconsistent heating?? Try leaving your fridge cracked and see what happens. Cold air would escape and the temperature would NOT remain consistent, try leaving a standard oven cracked when baking a cake, crack your home windows in the winter time when you are heating your house and see what happens - this is all BASIC knowledge an elementary school child could comprehend. Also, French door ovens that are properly designed tend to have an overlay either inside or outside one of the doors that creates an actual seal when both doors are closed. Like, I mentioned it's a simple fix but you all "got it" don't ya?? Extremely poor design, extremely poor product, air fryer simply heats stuff up but again, you all "got it" and I must say that your most french doors have a similar design comment shows your lack of knowledge regarding a proper french door design for ovens as well as your quickness to make excuses rather than listen to customer feedback and create/design/implement a simple fix. But even if you did fix that you still have the fancy defroster that you wrongly advertise as an air fryer. Everything I mentioned seems to be a common theme among reviews once one is able to get past what are probably a majority of bought and paid for 4 & 5star reviews. Well be sure to keep "getting it" as I know I will never get another product or use another product from your company and I will never recommend anyone else getting a product from your company.
Thank you for this very detailed video. I initially watched it in order to verify the placement of the crumb tray. Since crumb tray goes on the bottom, underneath the heating element, and the instructions say not to use foil, there is a concern with food or grease dripping onto the bottom heating elements. The instructions don't indicate it, but looks like I always need to use the bake pan along with the air fryer basket.
And, you should avoid all things aluminum as much as possible, including the foil. Aluminum is very bad for your health, and leeches into your food if used during cooking.
Could we use parchment paper instead of the aluminum? I used the baking pan under the fryer basket ( to fry potatoes) the pan got some drips and was very hard to clean.
I bought this and the Kalorik xl and found both your reviews but I still can't decide. I like the size of this but the accessories of the Kalorik (review didn't seem too positive) . Do you have another recommendation to have both good size and accessories?
If the gourmia is placed against a wall (90 degress clockwise with display closer to you) and the doors can only open 90 degress (handle against wall) will they stay open?

With just one evening of trying out the Costco model (XL) we like it and it seems like a great value.
$119 is about $70 overpriced but truth be told and based on my experience I wouldn't except this appliance for free as it would just be wasting space.

Does your unit has gap in the middle where the 2 door meets? I just open mine and I noticed that this oven not completely sealed because of the gap.
That's how most French Door cookers are. Be sure to watch the video, to see how it performs.

I have that same oven. I have struggled to make any food crunchy. I am going to buy a small basket cooker for crunchy foods. It did great with canndied sweet potatoes for 30 people though.. Good review!

Bought this crappy oven at Walmart for 89.00 in October 2023. Wasted money I could of saved, now it won't go no further than 250 degrees when it supposed to go 450 degrees. Very disappointed and lost my receipt 😑

Do you have any videos talking about your favorite air fryers? I watched your video about the Ninja Foodi and at the time that was your favorite but that was 2 years ago, was curious if it still held up. I’m looking for a toaster oven combo one as I don’t really want one with Teflon.
I noticed you moved your chicken down because of the position of the fan. . . Everyone seems to think hot air is coming from that fan. Wrong! Air is entering that fan and by lowering your chicken to expose it to the fan you may have subject the fan to spattering from the chicken. Also, by moving your chicken down, you moved it further away from the source of hot air, which comes from the top. This may be why you needed the extra 5 minutes cook time.
Air enters the fan on the lower right and travels outside the oven, up over the top of the top heating elements. The air then reenters the oven, flows down around the top heating elements, where it is heated, and from there, down onto the food. This provides good wide and even distribution of hot air for the frying effect.
On the small gap between the doors loosing heat?? This is insignificant compared to the massive heat loss around the extremely hot outside surfaces. The heating elements compensate for all the heat loss. (By not insulating the oven they offer more interior space.)
My main complaint about the doors is that if I leave them open to heat my kitchen, the GTF7660 shuts off with an over heat display of E006 and won't restart without momentarily unplugging. Not a malfunction. Just an annoying safety feature.
Lack of function preset memory is a big negative in my view. I have found, however, that it will shorten or eliminate preheat if oven is hot, which you did not experience in your tests.

For the baking one I wouldn't be surprised if it's because the temperature isn't like an extra 15 to 50° higher than it was supposed to be yet since your test kind of show that it does go higher than it's supposed to be at

This product sucks. The so called Air fryer does absolutely nothing accept heat up the food - there is very little crispness, if any and chicken tenders come out soggy and the breading is never fully cooked through. Trust me when I say this products design and features are a joke and a bad one at that. I get better quality baking chicken wings, tenders, fries etc etc in my standard oven. I will NEVER again purchase or use anything this company designs/manufactures regardless of the circumstances, I will NEVER recommend this companies appliances, if I ever hear anyone saying they are thinking of purchasing a gourmia appliance I will do everything I can to steer them away from gourmia. And be sure to check out the gap in the door. A simple fix that gourmia refuses to fix. I wonder how much heat escapes through that gap and I wonder how there could possibly be a consistent flow of heat as a result of that gap?? There is a reason why you are not supposed to open a door when baking something in the oven. Evidently the ppl at gourmia missed that elementary lesson when they mistakenly believed they "got it"

@@WaveOvenRecipes just to be clear, I stand 110% behind my review. You don't think a gap would cause heat loss or inconsistent heating?? Try leaving your fridge cracked and see what happens. Cold air would escape and the temperature would NOT remain consistent, try leaving a standard oven cracked when baking a cake, crack your home windows in the winter time when you are heating your house and see what happens - this is all BASIC knowledge an elementary school child could comprehend. Also, French door ovens that are properly designed tend to have an overlay either inside or outside one of the doors that creates an actual seal when both doors are closed. Like, I mentioned it's a simple fix but you all "got it" don't ya?? Extremely poor design, extremely poor product, air fryer simply heats stuff up but again, you all "got it" and I must say that your most french doors have a similar design comment shows your lack of knowledge regarding a proper french door design for ovens as well as your quickness to make excuses rather than listen to customer feedback and create/design/implement a simple fix. But even if you did fix that you still have the fancy defroster that you wrongly advertise as an air fryer. Everything I mentioned seems to be a common theme among reviews once one is able to get past what are probably a majority of bought and paid for 4 & 5star reviews.
Well be sure to keep "getting it" as I know I will never get another product or use another product from your company and I will never recommend anyone else getting a product from your company.

Thank you for this very detailed video. I initially watched it in order to verify the placement of the crumb tray. Since crumb tray goes on the bottom, underneath the heating element, and the instructions say not to use foil, there is a concern with food or grease dripping onto the bottom heating elements. The instructions don't indicate it, but looks like I always need to use the bake pan along with the air fryer basket.
And, you should avoid all things aluminum as much as possible, including the foil. Aluminum is very bad for your health, and leeches into your food if used during cooking.
Could we use parchment paper instead of the aluminum? I used the baking pan under the fryer basket ( to fry potatoes) the pan got some drips and was very hard to clean.
I bought this and the Kalorik xl and found both your reviews but I still can't decide. I like the size of this but the accessories of the Kalorik (review didn't seem too positive) . Do you have another recommendation to have both good size and accessories?

If the gourmia is placed against a wall (90 degress clockwise with display closer to you) and the doors can only open 90 degress (handle against wall) will they stay open?
