vw 73 super beetle road trip to black mesa OK with daughter 1120 miles

too hot to camp so 4 nights in hotels. the high point walk took about 4.5 hours on a hot day. we also did a 4.25 hour walk in tallgrass. we stopped briefly at big basin prairie preserve which didn't have any bison. we briefly visited clark count state park and fishing lake which is very scenic. some of the drive on the gypsum hill scenic byway was very scenic. we also drove the flint hills scenic byway but we've done that so many times it's sort of boring.
