I got the pleasure of going to Machakos a few weeks back to meet my partners Shosh. I miss Kenya so much and I’ve only been home a week.
I visited Machakos, and ate at that restaurant, the fish and ugali was on another level.
Their food is always delicious 😋. A place to always stop by.

Kisumu had/has a very famous Tot restaurant in the CBD...a household name in town for lunch/coffee/tea, maybe related? Can't wait for footage of the Machakos People's Park, the Governor's Residence and Konza... Kenya on the move...

I was a VSO volunteer at Masaku School for the Physically Handicapped circa 2006.
Good job as always, Machakos County is beautiful and alot of infrastructures and amenities coming up, it is a nice get away with its proximity to Nairobi.

ooh great memories!..back in 2002 I stayed at a place called Kenya Israel not far away from medical college and I used to go have some really nice tea at T tot every morning ..I occasionally attended evening live bands from a then popular artist called ken Wa maria at some dodgy club .Beautiful patrons filled the place and the music + 'Niama choma' was great..one thing that always stood out were the beautiful curvy girls of Machakos..Overal I had only good times and I hope to visit the town in future

It looks a bit drier and not as green and lush as Nairobi. Maybe that is why they moved from there. Still beautiful though and somewhere I need to go for a cup of chai.

The British first began their administrative acts from Mombasa, so technically Mombasa was ahead of Machakos.

Machakos' architecture style is really dated and uninspiring when you compare it to places like Kisumu. Kenya needs better building codes.
Kisumu is the economic hub of the lake side, a provincial administration center for a long time b4 devolution hence the infrastructure. These other towns are catching up. Being very close to nrb has done Mks a disservice since it has long been Considered as a bedroom town. That is changing more companies moving to the town
