I kind of miss the old narrator. He had an honesty in his voice.
I'm truly missing the Japanese dialect. But beautiful woodwork as always.
I can understood why you have chosen to move to using an AI voice but I have to admit, after watching your channel since the beginning I'm so use to the voice actor that it's going to take time for me to adapt

It wasn’t his son, they explained in a previous video that they paid a voice actor. I would guess it was too expensive for the amount of money the videos brought in.

The AI has definitely given you a British accent. And after hearing the original voice over or so long I think I prefer the original. The human just has a lot more range in emotions and tones. If it is not prohibitively expensive or tough I would not mind waiting for the human to do it.

I liked your previous voice. It was young and fresh. I knew it wasn't yours, but it was so much better than this computer generated voice.
I hate to come down on the side of more work, but I don’t think the AI voice brought the same enthusiasm as the normal narration. Still, fantastic work as always.
I really liked the old narrator! He was more fun. People think that having no accent is better or cooler. But I think people speaking with their own accents is more genuine and warm than practicing to loose that accent.
i have agree with all the other comments. i would prefer
a) the voiceover in japanese and english subtitles
b) voiceover in english with japanese accent
The narration was jarring at first, but it grew on me! If you feel it is more true to your voice, that is all that matters.

I've been a carpenter for 40 years and to me having you narrate your own video is so much better, I'm a big fan,
25 seconds in and i gotta say. i miss the old narrator. while im sure it costs less and is easier to plug into a translator/narrator, it lacks the same genuine translation that i didnt realize i had come to love. either way keep up the great work. both of you.
This AI generator keeps his natural cadence and accent from Japanese and turns it into English. This is what he sounds like in Japanese if we could hear understand him. Interestingly, many think he sounds a little British.
@@nw6358 no, i get it. probably easier for editing also. i just.... it sounds so robotic. its not like im gonna stop watching. i just wanted to voice my opinion.
also, most people sound british when thrown through an ai translator. would probably be comical if a bot came out with an american southern dialect
I thought your marvelous sense of humour came through particularly well in this video… and yes, the planer blade will always chip in the middle 😁. It’s a rule of this pernicious universe we are privileged to live in 😁.

Well, I found the use of your voice quite stimulating & seemingly more 'accurate & true". I continually am amazed by the HIGH quality of your unrivalled skill level & reasoning behind everything you do & why you do it that way. One can learn SO much just by watching & listening to you as you work. I have NEVER seen a wooden deck made & installed so 'beautifully' & it IS a 'thing of beauty'. Beautiful deck and skilled craftsmanship, as always. Like many have said, I too prefer the previous voiceover - it was far more 'human' and relatable.
One of the things I respected about this channel was that you had paid a real person to do all the voice acting. Use of AI is fundamentally unethical for many reasons, so I hope that you will go back to hiring a real person in future.
With love please bring back the old narration. The ai is so cold. The old narrator had so much wholesomenesses about him.
Please have your son narrate the videos it makes them far easier to watch and my students prefer

@@BevMargaret he has a video out where he explained his channel. Basically started during COVID in Japanese language. Suddenly he had so much international success that he was asked if he could do his channel in English too. He did but hired someone to do the voiceovers.

It was very nice to hear this in your actual voice. I would also like very much to hear your voice and read subtitles. If there is ever an option to do this. Sometimes hearing the tone and inflection of a person's real voice is the very best sometimes I think you are having a little joke or laughing about something

Hello sir, I have enjoyed your videos ever since I found them on UA-cam. I will admit that it is odd to hear your voice but I thank you for getting the translation software that lets us hear your voice. I don’t understand the nail question if you are seen getting all the nails from the same box without looking. I guess people don’t always see what they see. IMHO I think you are a great carpenter and the people of your city who get you on their build or other work for their home really appreciate your work skills and ability as that is something that’s fading out of a lot of cultures, highly skilled workers like you. Thank you for sharing your work ethic with us.

Excellent work as usual. I like the updated voiceover. It probably makes the editing easier and faster.
A lot of times in North America people just butt the deck boards up to each other, seeing as they are the most damp and moisture holding they will ever be at installation, then when they inevitibly shrink from drying out you get your gap in between the boards for water and snow ice to melt through. Bit of a controversial point though when deck building, I've also used my speed square to get the gap between boards. Different strokes for different folks! (or climates) Cheers

Got it for the 40th anniversary with a good iscount - 320 brand new. I would never pay more for it though. Minerak glass and no ip coating - super eady to scratch. Otherwise a beautifull and fantastic watch! I really love the contrast between the shiny body and the black dlc screwback 👌👌
