funny that safety concerns never necessitated upending convention before... I suppose it's a coincidence the first time coincided with doing Starmer a tremendous favor 😂
POINT OF ORDER - parliament cannot be seen bending to pressure, physical or political, and as it stands the Speaker may have bent to both, so how can any MP have faith he will not bend again?
How strange. When unions started turning up at bosses houses during strikes Labour stood by them. Now similar tactics are being used against them & the show is on the other foot, they don’t like it. BTW the ‘Shadow Leader of the House’ was so disingenuous & did Hoyle absolutely no favours by backing him in this way - highlighting the division in the house & backing up the belief Labour forced him into this position! Unbelievable…
The only way Lindsay can redeem himself is hold a vote to strike down labour’s amendment (as per precedent) and hold the SNP opposition day afresh with their motion & the Tory amendment. Otherwise he just looks as if he was either knobbled by the Labour Starm Troopers or, worse, he is no longer impartial. If he doesn’t do this, he’ll have to stand down. Remember, the clerks warned him not to do it but under pressure from Starmer’s boot boys, and from what’s reported threats to oust him ‘when’ Labour gain power, he buckled..
Does the leader agree that khsn should be removed from mayor of london who is working eith the commisioner of police to uphold the law and create 2 tier policing

I’m hoping he resigns so I get a vote again…he is my MP and as the tradition is, no one stands against him meaning I am disenfranchised. This system must change. The speaker should not be a standing MP in future.
The epitome of moral bankruptcy in plain-sight. Embracing democracy means embracing its fundamental principles - human rights, freedom, transparency, and justice - fostering a shared humanity for peace and harmony. Yet, the stark absence of these principles in the face of relentless tragedy in Gaza underscores a significant failure in Western democracy...... It appeared clear to me that with Liebour phillibusting proceedings from the start to enable Starmer to have time to coerse the speaker that it was clearly Liebour to blame for the whole of last night's embarrassing fiasco.
The tories deliberately triggered the proceedings by withdrawing their amendment knowing what the implications would be. And Maudants disgraceful electioneering as she laid into Labour earlier, while totally ignoring the monumental misdeeds of her own party. Remember they actually prorogued Parliament! And all the things she accused Labour of was mere,y projection. The disgraceful behaviour of successive Tory PMs in the House has been appalling. Not one of them has ever answered a question put to them.
Britain is walking on a knifes edge - Their own indirect creation of Israel combined with them importing half of Pakistan. British democracy is basically stunlocked over basic questions such as "is deliberately depriving half a million civilians of fresh water a warcrime?"
Well done Penny. She listens to questions in silince and courtesy, not the same reaction from the shadow leader. Also, how many times did the d speaker intervene calling for quiet when the opposition were speaking and how many when the leader was responding.
Interfaith is for better understanding within a diverse society . It’s a slippery slope when religion creeps in politics. For laws made in people’s house is to protect freedom of speech for all and not 2 tier policing. Democracy must be protected

It's weird seeing the Penny Mordant sycophants in the comments. She's a truly an awful person with horrific opinions and she believes in fanciful nonsense like homeopathy. One of the worst Tories and there's a lot of competition.
these chants about bullying the speaker are going to grow until Starmer is forced to toss a senior MP overboard to protect himself.

Penny Mordaunt should absolutely be PM
She talks about embracing all faiths, yet christians are persecuted , so how is that 'embracing faith's '?
lmao, Christians? how?

Don’t resign Mr Speaker. You made a mistake for which you have apologised .Others in the chamber have said and done far worse and got away with it.

Lindsay Hoyle should channel John Bercow more often.
His only mistake here was _apologising_ for challenging the orthodoxy.

Penny I think you can agree, you couldn't be faced with a more daunting task than this. 🤷🏾♂️
Mealy mouth politicians; what else can you expect from politicians.
Given how few people say they have a faith now, should it really have a place in the running of the country or education…and so on?
so, how do you get a date with Mordaunt?

Starmer and Hoyle dey any pressure applied. More posturing by a flagging SNP :p
The only flagging I'd the rules in the corrupt parliament.

Penny should have followed Boris. In fact she should have been PM since 2019.
