Shot 3/30/17. For the last few days, during mid-days, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains have been running express between Parkchester and Pelham Bay Park to facilitate track maintenance on the local track. This affords an opportunity to record revenue trains running on the center express track north of Parkchester which is usually non-revenue track reserved for yard put-ins or take-outs (and occasionally MOW equipment moves). This video is composed of shots from Middletown Road and Westchester Square-East Tremont Avenue. Enjoy the action =)

Check him out!
Very nice. I can see that the r62a have been polished or shined! They look pretty clean and shiny. I am glad they are being preserved.
I remember one weekend early 90s all downtown 6 trains were express only from pelham bay. Thankfully i lived on roberts avenue so the walk to the station was not a far walk. But the ride was awesome. After that, another weekend, all cars were like 5 or 6 car trains. Really weird yet fun
5:10 That part gives me Nostalgia
At 4:52, that "New York Newsday" paper stand has been there since I was a kid! I'm 57 now. Grew up in Throggs Neck
The 6 express shouldn't run local from Parkchester to Pelham Bay. It doesn't make sense.
Minion Bay they have to or their would be constant delays and pehlam bays becauss of to many trains try to terimante. They could if the Mta extend the 6 to co op city or Maybe even New Rochelle or Mount Vernon
I Miss The Damn R142A's On The 6
:(
We all miss the R142as on the Pelham line. Guest what when the brand new R262/as comes to replace the R62/as on the 1/3/6/s lines for CBTS the R142as will definitely return back to the Pelham 6 like. For now let's start appciating the R62as back on the Pelham line just like they had when they had the old Redbird s.
The Pelham 6 line will get mix equipments R262As R142A back on the Pelham 6 line. For now we have to put up with the R62as back on the Pelham 6 line until the Brand New R262/As both open gangways and the End ways.
wait can you do the 5 and 2 train pleas
I love your shows
i have noticed more r142 a on the 6 line i have seen 8 of them on westchester shop .are they comeing back and getting rid of the r62 6 trains because the r 626 trains s sucks
frank scalera now theres 0 RIP
@@johnmor3541 I remember when the REDBIRDS ran on the (6) years ago. They were the R29, R33WF and R36WF. I miss the REDBIRDS.
There should be R142 6 trains that can go up to Pelham Bay Parkway and I think the MTA should remove the thingy where Parkchester is the last stop and they should make Pelham Bay Parkway the only last in the Bronx for the 6 train
That can only happen if the mta extends the 6 because if not trains would be always delayed
@@johnmor3541 I saw some Redbirds the other day at 207th street yards.
I like the r142a 6 train but r188 are different 🙁 why!!!!!!!!!
wow you got a good number of R142As, there are only like 3 staying on the 6 I think
Chad M now none
@@johnmor3541 Now it is only R62A cars on the (6) line. The R142A trains were transferred to the number (4) in 2018.
@@Hotters9060 half of them were converted into r188s and delivered to the 7 line.
Many people live near or beyond Pelham Bay. Why/when did they stop running express trains between Parckchester and Pelham Bay?
Because they had already fix the system on the stations so there isn't any use to continue with the route
@@shevonnemartinezpitillo2909 I saw some Redbirds at the 207th street yard the other day. They were painted different colors.
@@Hotters9060 Why do you keep bringing up redbirds? I understand that they used to run on the 6 line, but the comment is unrelated to them.
Why is 6 train copying 7 train😡
Idk
The 6 train had these before the 7 so why is the 7 copying the 6?
@@LIRRSBSPRODUCTION The (7) used to have the REDBIRDS R33WF and R36WF originally.
I wonder why express trains normally don't do this. Might be because of those local trains that end their runs at Parkchester.
not enough room to turn all those trains at Pelham.
Fan Railer true
Fan Railer so true I live at Castle Hill AV and and I only ride 6 express
Fan Railer Right....
Abdoulie Ceesay I live near Parkchester and take the 6 express

Nice
I love R142A's (Edit: There all on the 4, No longer on the 6)
We can offer the R62a to the 4 and all the r142a on the 4 to the 6 even if there is extra r142as
Fuck that lol. R142A's should not abandon the 4 line. There isn't that many A's on the 4 anyway
No there are Lots of r142A's on the 4! And there is still Gonna be r142A's on the 4 jerome Is never giving up there r142A's there is just one set that jerome gives to Westchester yard so please don't blame the 6 line blame the 7 line for taking away the r142A's
There is not that many R142As left in general, most are now R188s on the 7
+CyrexHD I also agree
Very nice
not bad train action
Very intresting
Very 👍 nice
I wish R142 was back for 6 line cuz I can sleep the R62 is old and ugly
fortnite lover69 The R62As are better for the 6 line. The LEDs were installed with the 6 line in mind and there will be two more R62A trains on the 6 line in April.
I mean whenever the 262 comes out yall 6 riders will probably get it
The r142a looks new
They all went into service between 2000 and 2003. Some R188 sets are converted R142As while others are completely new. It's nice to see that they cleaned up the 6's R142A fleet because there was another video that showed clearly deferred maintenance on them due to being the minority fleet on the 6. When they transferred the R62As to the 6, they needed to change the sets from 11 cars to 10. The single cars that were used to make up the 11 car sets were all made into additional 5 car sets, meaning that the 6 has a few extra trains now that it has mostly R62A's.
@@collinparsons3363 The Redbirds were being phased out between 2001 and 2003. The Redbirds that ran on the (6) line during the 1990's were the R29, R33WF and the R36WF cars. After the arrival of the R142A cars on the (6) line around 2000 or 2001, the R29 trains were transferred to the (5) line and made their final run over there before they retired. The R33WF and the R36WF were all transfered to the (7) line and stayed there until they finally retired in 2003. The Redbirds made their final run on November 3, 2003 on the (7) line and then after that the R62A trains were transferred from the (6) line to replace the R33WF and R36WF until the arrival of the R188 trains a few years later.
that sounds like R188 in R142A
2001 car 3:12 the 9/11 car
That car wasn't actually involved in 9/11.
@connextro *facepalm* you don't live in the US...
My name is gun hill road
Bring the Thrid Avenue Elevated line back MR Gun hill road. Bring the 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line back where it belongs so this way the R62AS could definitely go to the 8 Thrid Avenue Elevated line to replace the R12S and the R14s. The Thrid Avenue Elevated line shouldn't be never taking down in the first place.
Woohoo !!!
