The JeP toy company was originally founded in Paris, France in 1899, and became known as JeP in 1929, after having merged with 2 other toy companies. Their toys (cars, trucks, boats, and airplanes) were very ornate, and complex (e.g. open and close doors), and were modelled after the famous "real" cars of the time. These included of course the French cars such as Delage, Renault, and Talbot, as well as Rolls-Royce and Hispano Suiza. The company eventually closed in 1965, but the name lives on, having been purchased buy the company Jouet Montblanc.

I saw a comment from people wanting water. NOPE! Water and metal have obviously not worked for this before. That was a very detailed and mechanical set up inside. A lot of production went into that for probably a profit of a few cents back then. Things really were built better than most plastic toys these days. Looks GREAT!
As always Tysy, A great Job restoring. I came across your page by accident a few months ago And spent many hours catching up on all the videos you have made. You should open an Internet store and sell what you restore. I bet you would do very well. Keep up the great work brother. I look forward to your videos here in Louisville Kentucky USA.
I love these videos! There is something so satisfying about taking something old and worn out and making it like new again. I admire your skill and patience. Thank you for filming these projects!
I hope you understand this as a compliment but I fell asleep 2x during this video. For me this means that the video is extrem relaxing. Congrats and thank You!

What I personally like about the restoration videos on this channel is the attention to details. Unlike the other so called "restoration" video channels, this channel seem to be the best so far. Keep it up good sir.
I HAD THIS!!! i had one just like this!! my uncle found it in the attic of his house when i was maybe three years old, he gifted it to me and i played with it so much, the pool, bathtub, the creek, anywhere with water it came with me, i remember the top was not white it was a cream colour and the body was a bright cherry red, it looked like it had never once been played with before, the little driver had a sky blue hat and a little black mustache, i remember my mom tied the key to the driver when the boat was not in use XD im sure i still have it tucked away for the next generation to enjoy, if i remember correctly it still works
It was a toy the whole time. What he did was take an old and broken toy, and fixed it. Your indignation about a "collector's" item that even in great condition (which this one was most certainly not) would probably only fetch $100 or so in an extremely niche market is just silly.
...ok...you just sandblasted away and painted over...what was the wonderful history and beautiful memory of time that was and time to come...for this little toy boat...
This is a wonderful work what do you do, the rescue and restore all those artifacts. You have such a beautiful talent and gift to give life again to the toys, that sometime in the past, were very precious for those children... great Job!

I spent all of my summers living in a cabin at Greenwood Lake NY and remember having quite a few toy boats similar to this boat. They all ended up losing functionality of the propeller but still floated when water as drained from the hull but were still fun to play with. This is a fine restoration. @@TysyTube glad to see you are successful and able to get better tools. Watching your old videos I would sometimes think about all the hours you took sometimes because of no sandblaster etc.
What a wonderful toy. I wish my son could have played with it when he was small. But I was upset at first when I saw the paint stripper come out. What a pity we could not see it in the water. I was surprised to see that it was made to last. The metal was quite thick and durable and not thin and tinny at all.

All in all a very nice job. I would have painted the face and hands skin color and the blue tabs white.
Water test would have been nice.
I thought the same about the blue tabs.
Edit: and of course the water test.
And I would have left the propeller a shiny brass color. :-)
