Blood finally being included in a Smackdown game was a major influence on my decision. It still is, I have held off on buying Fight Forever because normal moves don't cause bleeding and bleeding caused by weapons is too over the top anyway.

Smackdown Here Comes the Pain is THE best wrestling game ever made. I couldn’t get into any of the N64 wrestling games or that system as a whole. The graphics, the engine, the roster at the time, and the pacing of HCTP you just can’t beat.
We need a side series to the 2K games that has an arcadey feel like HCTP. Just give us 40 or so of the more popular/main-event superstars and a handful of legends. No need for a bunch of jobbers and NXT wrestlers.
I just wished these Smackdown games had a better women’s division. For Smackdown 2, they were missing Terri Runnels and Molly Holly. For HCTP, they were missing Jacqueline, Molly Holly, Ivory, Nidia, Dawn Marie, and Miss Jackie.

I am surprised to hear your thoughts about the Season Mode though. What about it (outside of the frustrating Battle Bars) made it feel like a slog for you?
Somehow never knew you could unlock the fist! That’s really cool, though I’d still argue it should have been included by default given it was the design on TV at the time. As far as Smackdown 2 goes, I think it does have good cutscenes and fun moments in the season mode, but the waiting with the battle bars and the constant long loading screens are really a deal breaker for me. It throws off the whole flow personally, and given that season mode just keeps on going, it just seems not super worthwhile given that the future titles have much better Season modes overall. It might be because I played HCTP first, but SYM always felt like a rough draft while HCTP was the final draft. I wasn't a big fan of the walking around backstage portion, and thought HCTP handled it better by streamlining it. That being said, as someone who was a WCW fan during the Monday Night Wars, I thought SYM had the better roster because it had more former WCW guys. I also liked that the season mode was 2 years instead of the 1 year that HCTP did.
Btw TroyVault, I discovered you through this video. Loved the video and thanks for pinning the correction comment. Things go overlooked sometimes but I just wanted to help inform. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of your content.
When I was a kid, my cousin's boyfriend at the time gave me his copy of "Just Bring It". Since then, 20 years later, I've spent hundreds, if not at least 1,000 hours on that game. I haven't played the others but I want to! Funnily enough, as a kid, I didn't know WWF/WWE was a weekly tv show program, so when I found out in high school, I thought the TV program was based off the game, not the other way around xD Oh boy did I learn!
For sure. It's a typical early PS2 title. Games looked so much better on PS2 about 3 years into the systems lifespan. Early and late releases on the system look like they're from different generations.
Honestly, the only things keeping here comes the pain from being the ultimate best in my opinion is Jeff Hardy being cut before game was released and the charaxter models have like a weird shine to them that looks like plastic :/ otherwise shit your mouth is a little more preferred for me.
It just wasn't the leap from PS1 to PS2 that people expected. Know Your Role was better in just about every way. It was missing all the WCW and ECW guys from the inVasion when it was released in November 2001. SYM was everything JBI should've been.
The game was trash compared to Know Your Role which was released on much weaker harder. The latter had a way better and larger roster, actual season mode, and didn't take up half of your memory card.
Every Smackdown game was great ,better then all the 2K games that came out in the last decade, I’m not a fan of 2K games , they don’t make them games like they use to .
loved both series so far !! even though this is more of a niche & kinda clunky game, did you ever play Raw 2 (xbox exclusive) ?? it certainly wasn’t the best, but i loved how customizable the superstars, entrances, and gear was. also, the career mode could last you for so long and i always found that bit fascinating. would love to hear your thoughts on the game, even if it doesn’t make it to a video !!
Awesome ranking smackdown 1 and 2 imo had a way better roster than Just Bring It Also theres a mod for smackdown 2 that features new wrestlers and the removal of the battle bars in season mode thank god
The 5 SmackDown Games were pretty rare as all 5 were really good games, and got better by each release (with the exception of Just Bring It!). Shut Your Mouth is the best of the bunch, Here Comes the Pain is objectively the better game, but Shut Your Mouth is my favorite. Although, I do like the chain wrestling physics of Just Bring It! It’s interesting that current day games can’t even match the look of Hogan in Shut Your Mouth. My only complaint in Here Comes the Pain is there isn’t the actual Madison Square Garden look of 2002 Survivor Series, I would’ve loved to see that in a video game. And it’s sad that the 2001 Raw arena seen in Just Bring It! Hasn’t made it to another Wrestling game since.
First game I got with my ps2 was Just bring it. Saw the intro and got hype as shit. Lol then played it and still had fun. It wasn't perfect but I had great memories and matches. Shut Your Mouth was underrated af. I loved that game too and I don't need to say anything about Here Comes the Pain. Every game got better and better.
Man, I sank so many hours into Smackdown 5 with friends and siblings. It was almost perfect, but it did suffer from 1 fatal flaw which sometimes ruined multiplayer matches...that being that you could not break up submission holds. Could anybody confirm whether this was ever fixed/patched in any releases of this game or if we got stuck with this bug in a local release or something? Just since i don't ever really hear anybody bring it up.
Smackdown 1 Buh Buh wears a confederate bandanna and has the old purple tye dye look Matt wears a Red shirt Also Smackdown 1 does not have a tables match But I played them both religiously 😅 If you had stone cold and billy gunn (who have the same exact attire) In the raw is war arena Then I might be stuck
For me i put smackdown 1 last because smackdown 2 is infinitly better as a hole and just bring it is still better then 1 so 5-Smack1 4-Just Bring 3-Smack 2 1-2-Here come ,Shut Your
As much as I loved SmackDown 2, it felt near impossible to get a title match in season mode even if you were the #1 contender and had won King Of The Ring, especially if you were in the WWF Title division. If you were in the IC, European, Hardcore or even Tag division, title matches were going on like no tomorrow.
Being around at releases, Smackdown 1 was unbelievable considering we had Attitude before (and I liked Attitude). Smackdown 2 was even better, looked better, amazing match options and I played career so much. Just Bring It I found a massive letdown, I used to love story mode and JBI was such a let down but I think that was a result of the new console and getting used to it. Smackdown 4 once again broke boundaries and was so good, I still remember seeing the graphics of Hogan's entrance and being in disbelief it was so good. HCTP was a brilliant follow up, but for me it was 2 and 4 that based on the context of release and consoles, were my favourite ever
Just Bring It was a typical early PS2 game that just didn't look anywhere near as good as later games on the console. JBI and SvR06 look so far apart in graphics.

@@Bubba__Sawyer don’t know anything about game development lol 😂.. all games especially back then were going off the roster from the previous year or early that same year that’s why none of them are in the game .
Streamlining it is one reason I disliked HCTP more. Worse season, worse backstage areas, worse exploration (none)
Btw TroyVault, I discovered you through this video. Loved the video and thanks for pinning the correction comment. Things go overlooked sometimes but I just wanted to help inform. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of your content.
You gotta drop the GameCube wwe games next really good short series to look into
We all know that Smackdown Here Comes The Pain is 1#
The fist arena in just bring it can be unlocked
Smackdown Just Bring It and Here Comes The Pain are my favourites
The Smackdown fist arena was in JBI, you had to unlock it
Here Comes the Pain is the best game but Shut Your Mouth has a better roster than Here Comes the Pain.
I loooove the old games, Smackdown 1&2. That brought me to this video
I’m so glad WWE 2k23 added the Smackdown fist arena!
They should have waited, until Sd jbi could look and play more like Sym.
For sure. It's a typical early PS2 title. Games looked so much better on PS2 about 3 years into the systems lifespan. Early and late releases on the system look like they're from different generations.
Back then i only bought a PS2 to be able to play Shut ur mouth. 😅
I can tell the diffeeence between 1 and 2. Also in the firsr sd game bubba had a confederate flag bandana
That’s smackdown 2 at 4:44 Hardy boys had that brood look on the 1st one
Honestly, the only things keeping here comes the pain from being the ultimate best in my opinion is Jeff Hardy being cut before game was released and the charaxter models have like a weird shine to them that looks like plastic :/ otherwise shit your mouth is a little more preferred for me.
Yes the smackdown fist arena is in just bring it you have to unlock it !!!
I played the F out of Here Comes The Pain ❤️
I hate how underrated/overhated Just Bring it is just because it’s sandwiched between other great games
I prefer Shut Your Mouth personally but objectively Here Comes the Pain is better
2:52 there is “fist arena” in just bring it! It’s an unlockable
Here's my ranking
5. Just Bring It
4. Smackdown!
3. 2 Know Your Role
2. Shut Your Mouth
1. Here Comes The Pain
I have a PS4. How can I get one of these smackdown games
The only thing that sucked about the PS2 games was no title matches. I never understood why they did that
Every Smackdown game was great ,better then all the 2K games that came out in the last decade, I’m not a fan of 2K games , they don’t make them games like they use to .
Facts
Truth
how are games 20 years old better than the crap and glitchy shit today
You should do a video where you ranked svr and the smackdown games all in one video
If you have the red label Just Bring It you can turn off the commentary is something I noticed.
loved both series so far !! even though this is more of a niche & kinda clunky game, did you ever play Raw 2 (xbox exclusive) ??
it certainly wasn’t the best, but i loved how customizable the superstars, entrances, and gear was. also, the career mode could last you for so long and i always found that bit fascinating.
would love to hear your thoughts on the game, even if it doesn’t make it to a video !!
SmackDown was fun, especially SmackDown 2. It introduced Kaientai before they were both in No Mercy.
Hey Just Bring It does have the Smackdown Fist Arena.
Awesome ranking smackdown 1 and 2 imo had a way better roster than Just Bring It Also theres a mod for smackdown 2 that features new wrestlers and the removal of the battle bars in season mode thank god
Can anyone please tell me, what is special in wwe here comes the pain season mode?
They really made so many of these games but they did so well.
There is a smackdown fist in just bring it. You have to unlock it
What's the one you could drive the forklift or am I imagining that
You could do that in SYM and HCTP backstage.
Well it got better until HCTP, after HCTP the games were worse or trying to reach HCTPs level.
the great thing is i have all these running on my xbox series even the smackdown vs raw series
When will the SvR ranking be uploaded?
Do best Smackdown vs raw games but the ps2 versions
There was a smackdown fist arena you had to unlock it
Here comes the pain is not just the best wrestling game ever, it's one of the greatest video games ever made. Period
I agree with the whole ranking list, I still own all of those til this day.
Unlikely in case you mean Smackdown vs Raw because it’s PS2
This was one (of several things) that the Wrestlemania/DoR series had over the Smackdown series.
Yeah that was a major problem in matches with more than two players. One of the biggest reason why I prefer AKI's wrestling games.
Smackdown 1 Buh Buh wears a confederate bandanna and has the old purple tye dye look
Matt wears a Red shirt
Also Smackdown 1 does not have a tables match
But I played them both religiously 😅
If you had stone cold and billy gunn (who have the same exact attire)
In the raw is war arena
Then I might be stuck
I love the SmackDown! games more than the AKI Games.
11:02 wrong! No Mercy is the greatest wrestling game ever with Here Comes the Pain a close second
For me i put smackdown 1 last because smackdown 2 is infinitly better as a hole and just bring it is still better then 1 so
5-Smack1
4-Just Bring
3-Smack 2
1-2-Here come ,Shut Your
You can unlock the smackdown fist arena in Just Bring It! By beating 15 or more opponents as the rock in slobber knocker mode. 😊
Only one wrestling game came close to here comes the pain and it was svr07
06 arguably had a better GM mode. You know you can't have a wwe championship elimination chamber match in 07
What did SvR 07 do better than SvR 06?
@@Bubba__Sawyer SvR 07 had a better GM mode, but SvR 06 had a better season mode
You got to build your rep up
@@I_Am_The_Social_Reject How do you do that in the game? Just by winning matches?
@@dicloniusgames Yeah I played forever and my CAW was in the main event most often
I love that stats system
Reversal system was great no need for indicator help
Best roster
Fast paced
Here Comes the Pain is the best wrestling game of all time, you love to see it
You are supposed to play Just Bring It Story Mode with different characters and make different choices. It can be a bit difficult woihout a guide. Here's the story mode with every wrestler. ua-cam.com/play/PL9ZlQtRg3VirQ_D-pKDm4eTiqVb-higjn.html
