before i continue with this video i HIGHLY recommend screwing all the different units together because it will make a huge difference if/when the shelves start warping and i've seen them warp away from each other at friends' houses. when i did my wall-to-wall shelves with billy bookshelves around three years ago we screwed them together and it made a huge difference
I'm not much of a reader but oh i love to see people organise their books on the shelfs it's so satisfying for some reason, i hope one day I have my own book shelf filled with books i enjoy! 📚 🤍
Fun fact about the town in Kiki's Delivery Service! You might already know this, but the inspiration for the town is from Visby and Stockholm in Sweden. Mostly Visby from the looks of it, the city of roses and ruins. Definitely recommend a trip there in the summertime if you want inspiration for magical places!
I can't imagine categorizing all mine. I admit I just shelve them by size so it looks neat-ish. Using a plant as a bookend is a good idea, I would not have thought of that.
I've slowly been moving my books to a cabin in Northern Michigan, I have about 450 moved already. I recently put up 2 new shelves, so yes now I can organize.
Not me over here side-eyeing my book shelves wondering if I could cast them all over the floor and lay in them! 😍 Love your content. Greetings from Seattle, WA!
Portuguese girlie here! 👋🏻😊 Proud to see a Portuguese writer on the spotlight for a moment in a video from an international content creator. I’ve only read a few bits of Book of Disquiet here and there, but it is definitely on my TBR. It seems to be one of the most philosophical works from Pessoa, and personally that is just my cup of tea ☕️👌🏼 I also read my first Clarice Lispector book (An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasures) a couple of months ago, and I really enjoyed it! ♥️ I think my next one will be Água Viva 😉
Pessoa's Book of Disquiet is incredible. I read it years ago and did one of my Master's papers on it. It's profound, delicate, kind, funny; very human and real.
First time watching your video, instantly subscribed! The overlap in taste, the professional editing, the pretty dress... :D There I go binging all your content.
This is my crazy way every time getting new books, my house is full and my mom is going crazy every time she visited me, she say always that some day I will die because of falling my books over my head like Al Jahez an arbian writer he died like that, and I kept laughing and laughing, I don't know I really could not stop buying more books even my library hit the 7000 books : Arabic, French, English from all categories. These two years I am concentrating and focusing to build my English corner as I am an author. 😅
I just found this video and love your collection. 'The Art of Kiki's delivery service' and 'Wonderland' look very special. You also have such an eclectic range of subjects that were lovely to see, the French works on Paris in the early 20th century really caught my interest. A really excellent overview of what you have. Thank you.
Gorgeous collection. Just a thought. Ikea have toppers for their bookshelves that add a couple of shelves in height. You do need to screw the toppers to the wall, for safety, though.
I have the same two Taschen Library of Esoterica books and I too put them in pride of place on the book shelf. Good job getting through that; It's looking great!
this was the most aesthetic video of my organizing dreams edit : omg i had saved one of your ig videos about dressing like lily potter last month. what a small world lol
I don’t know if it’s the same nowadays, but in my day the Wordsworth Classics were the cheap copies of books kids in the UK bought for their GCSE exams. Maybe that’s why they don’t spend a lot on the cover designs?!
Girl, You Need to Start The Book of Disquiet Right Now....! Like Today.... P.S. I Just came across your first video last week. Just saw this & Subscribed. Maybe Because I Love Italy, Love Books, Love Clarice Lispector and Fernando Pessoa your accent is comforting for book videos....
I loved your video, it had such a cozy vibe! As someone from Sweden, I also think it's really cool that Kiki's Delivery Service is inspired by the town of Visby, located on the island of Gotland.
It looks amazing. I bought 15 boxes of books over to Singapore 😂😂😂😂and built the same bookshelves as you, but in white. Just a tip…..screw all of the bookshelves together. Inside the cupboard areas.
what a beautiful video I love how you organised everything! by genre and vibes makes a lot of sense to me :) and ohhh i love that R&J Annie Leibovitz photoshoot with Roberto Bolle… iconic.
I love your book categories. I will move as well in a few weeks and I was thinking of categories to organise my books in the last weeks. I will use your list as inspiration :-)
I recommend organising them in alphabetical order, but you may want to go with something different, such as by Author, book colour, genre, best to worst. You go with you.
The worst Wordsworth Classics cover edition I've seen so far is for The Iliad, it made me laugh out loud. I'm not sure if there's a specific reason that the covers are so bad but they are cheap for a reason, I guess. I think their mission is to create affordable books for students mostly, not gorgeous books for collecting. I've got 10 or so of their books and I'm overall satisfied except with one which I think was missing pages or was otherwise printed wrongly. Which can happen even to more expensive editions but that really put me off them tbh. I think the book was Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell, I wonder if it's just my edition that's printed wrong. By the way, have you ever read Kate Chopin Awakening? I wonder what you would think about that book, I think you might like it. I really loved that book, and I read it while I was back home (close to sea) so it was great reading the book by the beach (not like a hot summer beach read but more of a late spring, early summer or early fall by the beach vibe) I've got about 100-150 books and I get overwhelmed with arranging them sometimes, could not imagine having 600 books! I'm more of a minimalist (not the white boring aesthetic type but in the number of things I own) so I feel like my collection is too big already but I have a really hard time with unhauling books. I love your bookshelf, it's really pretty. I see a lot of people on youtube have those ikea bookshelves, which fair enough, they are cheap and do the job but yours looks stunning! Mine is a lot smaller (I have to double stack) and houses some of my trinkets (because the shelves are deep so there's space) and on top are board games. It's black and second-hand and when I bought it, the lady was kind of sad to give it away it looked like. She asked if we'll paint it and gave it almost a caress, which is kind of nice but sad, too, because I don't understand why she'd sell it if she loved it so much. Anyway, I'm rambling. The intro was really pretty by the way and I love your dress
How the heck did I not know about your channel when I've been following you on Instagram for so long lol well I'm glad I found it cause now I have something to binge.
Hey, you move the books tooooo mu h when you're holding it for the camera or just showing the collection. I recommend otherwise. 😊 Just a friendly suggestion. No offense. I loved the video. 😊 Also, you may hold the book infront of your face while showing so camera can focus. 😊❤
the camera angles and shots in the intro were so beautiful and romantic!
Aaah thank you
it feels like I'm watching a Disney princess who feels so lonely that she reads hundreds of books
The thing that annoys me the most about the ugly Wordsworth classics is that the old editions were actually really nice
The intro was a cinematic masterpiece 😍And now I need a sad european summer books recomendations.
I have some videos on my instagram / tiktok but I can make a UA-cam video sometime! Probably for next summer though 🤭

also not sure if you're aware but you can stack more than one additional unit, i have two of the extra shelves on top!
Please do a full book tour! You have incredible taste in books and so many of your niche subgenres are ones I'd love to get more recommendations for.
1:41 needs to be the thumbnail omg it's brilliant
I'm not much of a reader but oh i love to see people organise their books on the shelfs it's so satisfying for some reason, i hope one day I have my own book shelf filled with books i enjoy! 📚 🤍
This was Ah-Ma-Zing!!!!! 😍😍😍😍 I'd love to see a video doing an in-depth tour of you witchy/spiritual books!!!
yesss pleeease

For the ladder thing - maybe you can get one of those step stools that doubles as a seat, or a sturdy chair so it’s functional but also stylish?
I can't imagine categorizing all mine. I admit I just shelve them by size so it looks neat-ish. Using a plant as a bookend is a good idea, I would not have thought of that.

"unhinged woman" sounds like an amazing group of books, im so intrigued what these are. Also dreamy and wierd
Gorgeous collection. Just a thought. Ikea have toppers for their bookshelves that add a couple of shelves in height. You do need to screw the toppers to the wall, for safety, though.

Are you French? Sorry if the question offends lol.. you are so beautiful and other worldly
Haha no I’m Dutch! (But being perceived as French is a compliment imo)
Un video molto interessante. Dove vivi in Italia?
Si! Vicino al Milano :)
Only book fans?
Where was the staff to help you 🤷🏻?
Does not look like 600 + books 😅 still, loved the video and seeing the organisation of them 📚
Nobody needs 600 books. Needs some unhauled.
You don’t know what someone else needs.
underwhelming
Oh god.. 🙄 Get a life, or at least shows us a video made by you that prooves this one is underwhelming..
