Tragic! I can't understand why a celebrated actress like Vivian Leigh would be allowed to die of Tuberculosis. By 1948 and 1952, two antibiotics that are still used today were being used to eradicate the disease. I'm wondering if she thought there was a stigma to being treated. Gone too soon.
Since Vivian Leigh had a severe alcohol addiction, that probably diminished her immunity, to the degree that her body was not able to mount any strong enough defense, even with antibiotics to overcome the tuberculous.

She was a phenomenal actress and most definitely nobody could have played scarlet like her or the actress who played melanie whose name sadly escapes me right now it was just petfect. In recent years due to BLM they wanted this movie cancelled but number 1 this movie is a dipiction of history not just showing black slaves but irish slaves too ( irish slaves were brought over on the mayflower ) 2 The first Oscar to a black actress in a supporting role was won by the actress whose name I also cannot remember. Well deserved all the oscaŕs given to this movìe. If history is not taught then it will repeat itself but also thdir around 8 million people who are slaves today making ur electronics. I'm glad the British Flag has bern put to rest. Hopefully the Statues & etc will be in a Museum, along with stories of the many that defended slaves & wanted them to be free or work for a living under their kind "Masters turned Employers". The South was beautiful on one side of the coin & as with anything in this life, the horrible was lifted somewhat. Meanwhile, movies of that era is bittersweet & entertaining.

But if you listen to his voice, intonation, confidence and swagger, there is indeed a sexiness to him. And of course today, even male actors and celebrities have seen the facial surgeon.

I can understand why the movie gets criticized but it’s still an important part of history.
I love this movie although it has nothing to do with what slavery or the confederacy was actually like historically speaking.
