Everyone acknowledges that the olympic silver and bronze medal swimmers are fantastic swimmers, but that the guy who gold is still the best at that time.
Nothing wrong with being a bit humble, but Brando was notorious for abusing the fact that he was talented and beloved by the audience on set. Like Apocalypse now, he didn't lose weight to portray a convincing soldier, instead came to set fat as shit forcing the studio to shot around his weight, knowing that he was an audience pull, so they couldn't fire him. Or how he didn't bother learn his lines in the godfather forcing the studio to put his lines on small notes around the set for him to read.
And he did that because he knew he was wearing the gold medal.

Weather you’re a trash man, barista or whatever…if you work and give effort and contribute, you have value.
I hate, especially here in America, that so many, if not most, jobs are looked down upon and people are shamed for doing them.
To the rich guy that gets his coffee everyday from Starbucks, and looks down upon the person making his coffee…have that barista no longer be there to work and then he might start appreciating and respecting all those that serve and contribute.

Ironically Brando also had an ego the size of Alaska. But I think that contradiction makes him all the more authentic, proof that nothing and nobody is strictly black or white. A great and humble man can be selfish and petty at times, while a self-centred narcissist can have moments of true insight and compassion. I guess it ties into Brando's main point here- that we as a society are far too quick to place limiting labels on ourselves and everyone else.

No one would ever need to attempt to get better at anything because everyone would be "equally valuable" the way they were, and if one person did become better they wouldn't even know it, because who or what would they have become better than? We wouldnt know because in order to become better someone would inevitibly have to be worse, and someone would inevitably be deemed "the best", therby not complying with the ideology of "everyone's of equal value".

@@CYB3R2K I know you're being funny and it's fine really. But yeah, I'd say they are wrong and one of the worst things you can do as a human to another human is discourage their creativity. We all have something special to say in one form or another.
And no I haven't reached the popularity of Brando obviously, nobody has, and that's not the goal really even.
The real highs come from the moments after creation when you're looking over your art or listening to your music or viewing your performance for the first time and you get an incredible rush so long as you're proud of the work you've done. There's really nothing else like it.
