100% agree with Marlon here. There's too much focus in life on whose the best and whose the worst. Pitting people against another in competitive games. We should be focus on the individual, their differences and strengths.
Same, but I can also see how that focus would not be interesting to a great majority of us who prefer to use cheat codes to success rather than working through a path of integrity to dubious success. That kind of ranking is an abstraction of reality, rather than an organic fully realized narrative.
people pit themselves against each other in competitive games, by choice. and there is nothing wrong with it. it's not a requirement of life. choose your own path. and you can choose to ignore those that think in a different way. it's not rocket science.
It would be terrible. We'd be a society incapable of judging merit and we'd all be conformist drones living utterly mundane lives with nothing to strive for. No one would ever need to attempt to get better at anything because everyone would be "equally valuable" the way they were, and if one person did become better they wouldn't even know it, because who or what would they have become better than? We wouldnt know because in order to become better someone would inevitibly have to be worse, and someone would inevitably be deemed "the best", therby not complying with the ideology of "everyone's of equal value". In other words this is hippie garbage that simpletons with terrible critical thinking skills think is profound when they hear it.

Value is not just about material wealth, accomplishments, or societal status. It's about the qualities, skills, and characteristics that make someone special and valuable to themselves and others.
It was a very profound and modest answer. It felt genuine. The line about Tim cracked me up 😂
Ive always wondered why supremacists hate him so much. He was a humble and noble.
Spot on. You need to have a sense of freedom in deciding if you wanna go on living up to whatever it is and wherever it is.
Dude was ahead of his time from his protest at the Oscar’s about the treatment of native Americans to this. Marlon Brando truly was an amazing man
then it was feeding time
You mean the protest by a woman pretending to be an Indian?
And a great actor...
Pity Marlon wasn't into politics like Reagan was. Who knows what changes he would have made.
Not really ahead of his time. All that stuff started in the 60's.
Agreed. Anyone bringing art into the world that someone can appreciate, whether it be acting on the screen, writing, making music, or with a paint brush is making the world a better place. Not everything is a contest.
I’m amazed by his refreshing humility!! Bravo Brando! 🙏
What a phenomenal response
Indeed
Asians don't like hearing it's not a competition. Imagine how many times her parents told her "You faailure if you not da bes at wha you do!"
I've never been a Brando fan but this response is worthy of the greatest respect.
How could you not love Brando?
@@alverzenongkhlaw5688I’m 24 and I love him
I watched as many of Marlon’s works of art, I could.
Both he and Charlie Chaplain, were superb.
Charlie, pure Genius.
Thinking of marlon’s statement there though,
Who would watch movies of people that could not act or remember their lines?
Or watch baseball with every batter, striking out?
You clearly never watched his acting 👌
@@EpicAelflaed I certainly have see him act and a painful it is to experience. I've a lot of much finer acting, most of which were a league Brando could only dream of approaching.
A brilliant mind
A flower of nature
Wisdom surrounds him In every breath he takes
Magnificent
Humility and thoughtfulness are great qualities
The one and only Marlon Brando. RIP
He was spot on.
I love Marlon’s pearls of wisdom. He is absolutely correct here. RIP, you wonderful human. ❤

😊❤ Marlon's words of wisdom. May we all follow his thoughts and know that each of us have our own value and worth ❤ no one's better than the next person. Well put Marlon. Thank you, For sharing your thoughts ❤ rip Marlon 😊
Not ONLY remarkably talented. He was amazingly humble as well. The more I find out about Marlon Brando the more I grow to admire him.
What a gifted Man. 🙏🏽 🎭😇⭕️❌🫡
I agree to disagree. He acted with cotton balls in his mouth and honestly he only played in 1 movie I can think of.
You're a Jon jones fan which means you like violence and cocaine. I'm not surprised you haven't seen more of his films. @@jonjones4439
@@jonjones4439 Well, that's more your problem than it is his. He was in many remarkable films.
Humble! The man has 20+ kids 😂😂😂
We live in a competitive world. Only the strong survive.
Agreed. Life is NOT a competition.
EVERYTHING is competition.
I wish more people looked at things this way. Imagine what kind of world we'd live in.
Imagine indeed.
Everything is not equal.
you are the greatest…cliches person.
Wow. The wisdom and humility in that answer. 👏
Mad respect for Brando here and agree with him.❤
Absolutely correct the award system is nothing but a circus
Yes but Remember, anything Like this had its place when our numbers were smaller and lives were simpler. We can’t forget the utility of the old ways but we can’t let them trap us either.
George C. Scott called the Academy awards a "meat parade" and did not attend when he won best actor for Patton. Brando was there for his first award but was famously not present for his second one.
i kinda disagree with that box office talks for it self...after KK movie productions doesnt makes movies for just for fun. first of all to make money....
The awards are a ritual same as all the others. An excuse to dress up and party. What's wrong with that?
Really great people are humble and down to earth.
Just when I thought I couldnt love him more, he comes up with this. ❤
I could watch this clip over and over. And I have. It’s just realism. Brando wasn’t in for the fame and awards. He was in for his passion for acting and entertaining.
Let’s face it,he was also into cakes and pastries!
The best are always those who love what they do.
I particularly enjoy that story when young Tarantino (a nobody with potential) opposed Bruce Willis (biggest one there was at the time) on playing Jules and offered him Butch instead.
He was a fan and head over heels to have Willis in his film, but the man just couldn't compromise on his vision.

What a reply! A great man, indeed.
This is the kind of stuff I say and people respond with something like "that's what a loser would say" or something. So it's refreshing to hear it from somebody so well respected
Only a loser themselves would respond with that
But when they treat you like a loser, you win because you learned who they really are.
@@geargeekpdx3566so great to read those comments, sometimes I feel in America, they are all winners and I'm the magnificent loser in my mind!
I mean you haven't reached the highs of Brando, probably no even close to him, so are they wrong? 😂
@@CYB3R2K I know you're being funny and it's fine really. But yeah, I'd say they are wrong and one of the worst things you can do as a human to another human is discourage their creativity. We all have something special to say in one form or another.
And no I haven't reached the popularity of Brando obviously, nobody has, and that's not the goal really even.
The real highs come from the moments after creation when you're looking over your art or listening to your music or viewing your performance for the first time and you get an incredible rush so long as you're proud of the work you've done. There's really nothing else like it.
I bet you've never even watched The Godfather or Apocalypse Now anyways, have you?

We have a word for this. It’s called wisdom.
I imagine you saying this aloud to someone & then gazing at them profoundly as you struggle not to fart

He was so smart and authentic, especially gained my respect with his own love and respect for Native Americans
I don't know about all that. He used a fake Native American actress to accept an Oscar on his behalf. She was not a real Native American.
Humility is one of my favorite attributes in another. Marlon had wisdom and depth. Such an interesting person.
Interestingly, as a person, he was known for being eccentric and overconfident, even arrogant - probably because he didn't enjoy fame much. As an actor, however, he was considered to be quite gracious and very generous and supportive to his colleagues, whether big or small names.
