- In India I visit the old city fortress from a time before Hyderabad was founded, Golconda the city of diamonds. As we conquer the many steps to the top of the fortress I explore the history of this mighty historic building and talk to the many Indian locals along the way to find out what they can tell us about this place. One of them even of offered to pay for my ticket in typical Indian hospitality fashion. One of the historically most famed places on the Indian sub continent since the legend of Golconda and its riches reached far and wide around the world.
People are happy to speak to you because you are so friendly.

That's because people usually visit Golconda first and then the tombs. The driver must have thought that you have already been to Golconda and just inquired how much it would usually cost.
