Isaac Lane and friends

Cheticamp Harbour is full of ice still and the Isaac Lane is heading out towards two fishing boats stuck in the ice just outside the mouth of the harbour. Slow going in this ice, there's no rushing it even if one was in a hurry. A coast Guard ship is reportedly on the way to assist.

Environment Canada charts show just a tiny bit of ice out there and because of the prevailing northwesterlies, it's all hung up at the entrance to and in Cheticamp Harbour. It would take a southerly, or southwesterly breeze to clear the harbour.
