These guys were lucky twice. Lucky to have been there to see the event, and lucky not to have been clocked by the iceberg turning over!

Tens, if not Hundreds of thousands of years of layered snowfall showing the climatic history of the planet. Ash from distant eruptions, dust storms... its incredible.

As bergs roll and plant their heavy face down, those who are close do not know what is coming up, since 90% of the berg is hidden underwater. Quite often an attached ice "spur" surfaces dozens of feet away from the main berg. If allowed to up beneath a boats hull, it will hole the hull or worse yet capsize the boat. Keep away from bergs.

It certainly didn't look like 90% of this berg was below the surface, but I get what you're saying. Being this close to one as it's flipping over is very risky and ....dumb.

    • @AmalieAmmaFaurschou

      You’re so right.
I wouldn’t be around at all
Nature is great but dangerous too when it comes to such icebergs
You only see the small parts of it at the top
In Greenland we have such a respect for such iceberg’s that we don’t get close at all
So foolish to get a huge tsunami
I was thinking; get lost 😄

Apparently it is so cold it can't be handled and when it melts it doesn't turn into water it just disappears. The oxygen levels in it are way higher than normal ice. It's like the God particle.

Whenever people see icebergs, and then also hear that it’s near Newfoundland, people like me will remember that south of Newfoundland, 400 miles away on the night of April 15th, 1912 will remember that the largest & most luxurious ship in the world has sunken there... by striking an iceberg... *Titanic.*

This is a super video taken at great risk to life and limb and almost the whole thing is out of focus. What a shame.
