By far the best video I've seen on the light. Once again you and your husband are doing an awesome job documenting this build. Explaining every last detail is priceless! Patiently waiting for the next video now, PS that light looks great and the spread above the tank looks perfect!
Thanks Pelphrey! I agree about the spread - and in the short reveal in the video the blues are at 10% and the whites at 5%. Putting both at 100% was blinding! I may lower it about 2 inches to reduce the spillover. I'm really pleased with how clean and elegant the single fixture looks. It's getting really exciting now.....👻
Waheeeey another step closer on your build reefgirl!! Looking awesome so far! Thanks for the suggested hook up with CJs channel, he's really cool too, will message him in a bit and tell him that you sent me! Lol thanks again. 😀👍🏻
Hahaha, that's awesome. His content is probably the most informative and entertaining I've ever seen. And his videos are so well-done, they're a pleasure to watch. And I've progressed a lot further since that video! Today I'll be catching all my saltwater mollies and putting them into the new tank because the cycle is to the point where parameters are where they need to be, and the mollies can work on the brown algae and diatoms I have going on at the moment. Also, the smallest batch of babies are big enough now that they won't fit through the overflow teeth, so the time has come! Thank you for watching, and I appreciate the comment!
This was fantastic cindy and I hope you know how lucky you are having someone to help that knows what they are doing ... this project is really coming along now isn't it ..... I can't wait to see it al ready to be filled your gonna be like a kid at Christmas 😍😍
I love the way your documenting the buid I should have done the same Im going to do It on the next one and definetly with the store here in the Cornwall SD&G Area Thanks for the inspiration! :)
Thanks RR! I hate the snake pit of wiring I have right now, so have made it a priority to keep things tidy for the new build! I appreciate you watching and thanks for the feedback. 😁
It about killed me to spend half what the whole XL 425 cost on just the light, but I wanted something that was going to be a single fixture that I could hang from the ceiling, and this one worked perfectly for that. I priced hybrids and they were twice the price, and I ask myself, "Why?" Going by the reviews, I'm hoping it'll be the right choice. Because if it isn't, I'm going to have to settle for a daisy chain of Chinese black box LEDs because that'll be all the budget I have left. 😬 Thx for watching!
Heat was the main reason I went with LED. Well, that and how expensive the hybrids are. I did briefly consider a hybrid but came to my senses when I realized how much I could do with the money I'd save.
What did you do for the wire cable management? I just set up an AP9X with this ceiling mount and I could cut the excess cable, but I won't ever be able to drop it if I want lower.
We learned that this type of cable might fray and unravel if cut, so we just neatly coiled up the excess at the ceiling, fastened it with a couple of short twist ties, and it was never really noticeable. Good luck!
@@Reefgrrl it's similar to bike brake and shifting cables. You can get soft metal caps that you slide over after you cut, then crimp them into place. I might go that route.
Hey Craig, I use a Jebao DCS 7000, and it runs at 70%. I’ve used a lot of Jebao equipment over the last 4 or so years, and it’s never let me down. Great value for money, IME. 😁
I'm completely confident it'll be plenty. In the video they were set to 10% blue and 5% white using the touch controls. I tried them at 100% for both and it was blinding. Thanks for watching!
It retails at $1199 and they charge $50 for the hanging kit. Plus tax. Ugh. But - I would have needed two radions and a controller and in the end they would have cost more. The Giesemann Aurora was another candidate, but they were waaaaay too expensive, being a hybrid.
Reefgrrl wow.. thats insane.. i might never be able to spens that kinda money on a light. also here in india we get ecotechs and maxspects, ut there is no service nor can it be repaired. thts why i make diy.
I apologize for the slow reply! That was my Red Sea tank from about 5 years ago, and I’m sorry, but I don’t recall which blue setting I used. I suspect it would have been something more blue than white, based on my preferences at the time,

"The reefkeeper will go crazy if it's not level"...Love it! Once again, great job! Consider yourself lucky for having a handy hubby.
I'm indeed lucky! I couldn't do a fraction of this without his help and interest. Thanks for watching!

I'm so lucky that not only is he clever and experienced, but he also really wants to be involved. It's starting to get real now!! 👻
You guys are doing a great job and helping others along the way. It's gonna be great
Thanks Dave!

Thanks for watching and good luck!
awesome video! I agree that kessil lacks on instructions too
Thanks Billy! It makes me shake my head. It's not just Kessil - AI is bad too. Thx for watching!
Love to see others reefers with the kessil ap700. Your going to enjoy the light, it's awesome. keep up the good work.
Thanks SR! How are you doing these days? Was your surgery successful?
You will love this light I just got it myself great video
DC Reefer you have that like, cool! Would love to see a video on it! Hahahahahahahaha

DC Reefer I'm messing with you! It's all good!
Nice! I'm really happy with how clean and elegant it looks. And the touch controls are a very nice option, really easy to use. Thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed this video :) great work. Looks ohh so clean!! Cant wait to see this tank progress
Thanks RR! I hate the snake pit of wiring I have right now, so have made it a priority to keep things tidy for the new build! I appreciate you watching and thanks for the feedback. 😁
Nice light! This tank is gonna be great.
Thanks Reefspy! It's getting real now......
Great Video. You guys are doing an awesome job.
Thanks John! I'm really enjoying this whole documentation process.
Great video, that's a great light and I should know!
Hahaha, I'm looking forward to getting some stuff growing under it!
Wow pulled out the big guns and installed an AP700. Awesome light!

It should be enough. Later you may to decide to add some T5 but they produce a lot of heat. I'm sure you'll be happy with the AP700.

Great video ❤
Filling gaps in instructions wherever we find them, lol...😎
Another great video 😉
Cool stuff Reefgrrl...
Thanks Vijay!
Much better than an unboxing... :)
I know eh? I did this video because we couldn't find anything to help figure out certain aspects of the installation. Thanks for watching!
Great light fixture even though the instructions suck.
😖 It's a beautiful light and will work out exactly as I hoped. Thanks for watching!
Do the wing bolts come with the light? thanks for the video.
Hey Robert, those wing bolts come with the ceiling hanging kit - the light doesn’t come with any mounting hardware at all. Thanks for watching!
Awesome!

Hi just asking what kind of return pump your using in your red sea reefer 425 xl because iam getting on soon

Do you feel that the Kessil is going to be enough lighting for your tank?
I'm completely confident it'll be plenty. In the video they were set to 10% blue and 5% white using the touch controls. I tried them at 100% for both and it was blinding. Thanks for watching!

Im waiting on my kessils to get here Im going with 2 360w tuna blues I would like 3 or 4 but 2 will have to do for now lol
We do what we can eh?

which blue setting do you use?
