Love the way you tour us keep it up
Awesome tour ... thanks for posting...really enjoyable
So glad you enjoyed. Ty
A lot of nice scenery around the ship, nice to see some navy vessels to. Looking forward to next vid. Great work! Stay safe
Thank you very much more soon
Amazing port
Fun to see the underside of the bridge i commuted to work on every day. Thanks for showing us what you see. It is interesting. The carrier (USS Yorktown CN-10) you saw was at Patriot's point, it is a museum with aircraft both on top and inside. The old Fort is Fort Sumter.
thx for the video, like the surroundings over there too!
Hey thanks and I will continue these vlogs starting October when I am back to work
great i will follow these new video s! Mean while i have a link to a video on youtube about Rotterdam harbor, so far you did t see this one.

In reality, we will never have a experience as you get on board the ship and at least we enjoy watching them. Please do not stop.Take care.
Well I appreciate your nice comment it makes it worthwhile the effort that I put into making it I'm not a professional but I do my best so other people can enjoy it like you
That huge bridge near the docks in Charleston is tg Arthur Ravenel jr bridge,it replaced the old Cooper river bridge
I crossed the Ravenall Bridge everyday to get to work for 2 years. God do I miss Charleston!!!!
thanks for your comment
OK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Szczecin - Polska.
This guy is really great his videos are very interesting And informative..
Hey Tim thanks again... I will be back in October doing more vlogs
Was great talking with you yesterday and catch up again sometime soon
@@jefferyb.3406 Not a big thing but Tim is actually my brother my name's Tobin.. I'm sure it was just a typo.. It was pretty cool talking to someone who has enjoyed such a adventurous Life.. I know sometimes it just seems like a job... But to May that just drives to work every day and thinks about doing something and being a part of something bigger than himself it was pretty cool...
@@tobinprowant10 awesome I'm just glad people enjoy it makes it worthwhile doing it and like I said there will be plenty more new videos starting in October from the ship and of course in the future as I work on different chips and go different places I will always share Wherever I Go and the different shapes I work on
you should watch his grilled cheese tutorial
Can you make a bit about how you eat? What’s the food like?
I remember small bits as a small kid 5-6 years of age, sailing with my dad on Danish coasters. Still have some mental pictures of the gangways, stairs, cabins and bridge.
Great job and beautiful video. if you ever get a chance it would be very interesting to see a video on the startup procedure for the main engine on a container ship.
I will try to get some if possible but normally when we get underway I'm very busy hard to make video but I will try to show the process of that and maybe show the engine when it actually starts up so you can hear and see it I'm sure I can probably get something like that in between working
And I will try to make a video where I show different components around the engine that pertain to the startup thanks for the ideas
@@jefferyb.3406 Great, thanks Jeff. It's nice that you are able to film in the engineering spaces. Your vlog has me now wanting to book a passage as a passenger on a container ship. I've done a bunch of cruises and I love the sea days but I don't need all the social activities.
I did not realize we had a 'ready reserve fleet.' It makes total sense; I just never thought about it.
The ship is( ss york town) its a ship that u can go on to tour ,it is plant in the sea,its $16 per person to tour it
The aircraft was departing from FLL or Ft. Lauderdale Intl
Cool videos. What is your position on board?
ide like to see more/get more engine room info
I will mae more and do engine room video for sure when I am back promise....
I really enjoy watching your videos, that's a very cool life you're living!!! getting paid to sail around the world
Thanks Jim for your comment and for watching...Lots more coming soon
The Fort after Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown is called Castle Pinkney, another pre Civil War fortification
Thanks for sharing that. I had no idea and I live in VA. Beach
Man, I envy that job, hopefully someday. Btw have you ever seen the el faro in port?
I never actually solid or work done it but I know many people who have worked on it and pretty much everyone knows somebody who was on there when it went down was a very sad story actually one that happened I was heading south along the USA Coast and most of those guys were out of Jacksonville and I have worked with a lot of those guys from that Union Hall many times
Hey Jeff Thanks again for another good video. Question for, have youse been on a passenger cruise for a vacation?
I never tried it...I want to tho
the aircraft carrier was the SS Yorktown the fort is Fort Sumter
Okay thank you very much I appreciate the input I wasn't sure and thanks for watching
Thanks Frank! I never would have guessed that was the one and only famous Ft. Sumter. I have read a lot abt it in history books and such but have never seen it.
Spent many a night on the USS Yorktown with Scout Groups. They are some SMALL bunks!! LOL
Negative on the Fort Sumter. The rounded corners show that to the the small fort of Castle Pinckney, which sits on a small sand spit island in the middle of Charleston Harbor. Fort Sumter is more imposing with flat, five sided walls and sits near shore at the mouth of the harbor.
Great video, as usual. Can i ask how many crew are required to run the ship.
Thank you Glen, and we have 20 but sometimes we have a couple Cadets as well in addition
The big birds are pelicon
Love the video dude x stack =chimney ? 😁
The stacks you mean where exhaust leaves the ship? How have you been btw? Good to see you again and soon more vlogs starting October
@@JeffOnboard lol yeah that's what I meant x I'm ok dude hope u are 2 x
Can not wait for October lol really enjoy the shipping videos not so fussed on the theme park videos x
What are the chances of getting footage on the being coming into or leaving port or at sea. Always enjoy your vlogs
I'll do one when I go back sure
Fort Sumter, some kind of importance under the American civil wore
Awesome hey thank you for sharing that with everybody and thanks for watching many more videos will be coming soon
Ft. Sumter first shots fired of the civil war. The Confederates fired on Union troops
Thanks for the info...appreciate it😎⚓️🚢🌊
Could you name some of the music you use for the videos for transitions and whatnot? Yes, I admit, when I'm not listening to rock I like just a little electronica.
Please post more videos at sea.
Im about an hour away from it ,
yes the msc ship is used for UNREP underway replenishment I served In Navy and Navy vet I was stationed on Carrier USS HARRY S. TRUMAN CVN-75 for 4 yrs and was homeported at Naval Station Norfolk
That's awesome yes I know about that aircraft carrier and many years ago I took a class on UNREP also where they taught us how to use the flags for signals and things like that... I will be getting a lot more footage and do more videos starting in October when I go back to work
what is your job on the ship...I was in deck dept so I have done many unreps and then was a cook
@@roberthodgins5740 I am a QMED with Electrical rating
what is QMED
@@roberthodgins5740 it is an umbrella under which there are many ratings which I have including electrician Refrigeration engineer Etc it stands for qualified member in the engine Department we just call it that qmed
what is your position on the ship?
When u enter every port do u always require a pilot and tug assistance ?
Yes every port, correct
Pilot to ensure no damage to container ship, other craft or infrastructure along with tugs... It's not the most nifty of vessels
Which equipment you used for this video?
Different cameras, but many are with a GoPro, I use a gimbal for the camera to hold steady, and I edit with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate, Blue stationary microphone and Rode camera microphone. Looking now to get a Sona A Series camera as well
ravenal bridge
:)
are you on call 24 hours a day or do you actually get to relax once your work is done for the day? thanks for the videos.. :)
Yes relax in the evenings and go out in ports.. I have a couple other videos that I recorded when I was actually out of the Ship here on this channel
What's a boo-ey?
A buoy, US pronunciation.
*bridge
Are you a hawsepiper or did you go to an academy?
I never attended the academy and I am the QMED with Electrical endorsement
Oh, my misunderstanding. You must ship out of the Norfolk SIU hall.
I'm going down to Jersey city in a couple of weeks to register as an AB unlimited with you guys. I'm looking to upgrade my license (1600 ton) so i need some unlimited tonnage time.
Thanks for the videos.
@@jamescooper7957 yes I work with people out of that haul all the time and you are correct I live in Virginia Beach and ship out of Norfolk... I post a lot of different types of videos but when I go to work I do ship vlogs
@@jamescooper7957 never know we might work together sometime I am currently on the Maersk Montana container ship on the European run 35 day run
How long's your hitch? 90?120?
You should record a N.Atlantic crossing this winter. Show people it's not always candy canes and glitter all the time. :)
Ft Sumner
Thanks, I never say it right...
