After watching Hannah go through Her real hardship in life.

There’s so much that can be learnt from this lovely soul. She was connected to the land, found joy where she could, and had a peace and solidity so many of us try to find.

I *LOVE* her statement made to a friend in regards to staying at the Savoy Hotel after never once in her life staying in any hotel. “There’s nothing like starting at the top is there”?

Hannah Jones very cool! Your statement is 5 years old I hope that you are well. I just discovered Hannah’s story this past week and I’ve been watching everything on UA-cam about her that I can find. I grew up Summers on a beautiful lake in Wisconsin USA. The property next door was a good 6-7 acres. Most of it very well planted gardens of every bit of produce and berries too that could possibly grow in the part of the country. I knew the old woman from Germany that worked those gardens from Sunrise to Sunset every day. Except for when she was inside cooking 3 meals per day for her daughters and 7 grandchildren that spent the summers there too. She even looked just like Hannah from these documentaries. I often thought that she could work circles around me even though I was always fit and athletic. Work ethic is a tremendous trait that not many have especially after her generation. She passed in 1996 in her mid 90’s. Cheers.

It’s SO very difficult to see that NO ONE helped her carry a few buckets of water during those cold bitter winters - The animals needed water as well - everything frozen over. Even if a neighbour carried one bucket of water per day at least that would have helped her. Hard to believe!!

I have never understood why the people who loved her and wanted what was best did not put in water and deliver her groceries as well as subsidize them. She then could have stayed on the farm til near the end. ?????

i thought that etc. and why was she wearing that rag coat etc????? but.....then documentaries NEVER say ALL the facts depending on what they have access to. could be her friends were ALSO having it hard.

It could be that a well could not have been drilled in the highlands where the cattle spent their days. Running water pipe up the hill would have been an incredible job buried minimal 3-1/2 ft deep to not freeze but then pipes freeze at both ends as well. At the point where they come out of the ground and the point between a pump and the ground. It may have been a tremendous expense to pull off.
