This frugality at it finest something today's generation wouldn't comprehend, if you go back a century a lot of country folk lived like this . This lady is so humble but strong at the same time, sometimes circumstances carve your life out for you and you just have to make the best of it and Hannah has done it in spade fulls.

I've seen this before and it blew me away. The people were gold. I couldn't believe Hanna was 46 Y I was shocked. I could see into her soul and it made me so sad still does these years later. I'm still lost for word's, I have a connection from afar. I'm Irish and I know hard time's like these people did. I'm a city person but the soul had no borders. ✌️ ☘️

really enjoyed this documentary. Thank you for putting it up. It reminds me of how hard my people worked at farming. Although we are in Ireland it was just the same. I have just seen the films about Hannah what a lovely lady may she RIP. By God the last generation were tough people..they put us to shame. It's because of them we are so comfortable. We owe them such gratitude.

Well said. All you seem to hear about the older generation is criticism of their dated beliefs. Those beliefs will die with them, but the legacy of a comfortable existence won't. The sad thing is that the respect they undoubtedly showed to their elders doesn't seem to be granted to them, at least by a lot of people.

I'm reminded when watching this video of the struggle my late mother, who was widowed very young in the early sixties did her best to bring up five children under the age of six while running a hundred acre farm in a time when everything was labour intensive and money was very scarce. I admired my mother for her hard-working ethnic as I do this wonderful, simple living woman who puts her farm first before the trappings of a more material life.

There's still a few folk like the Bainbridges left in Teesdale and Weardale but By the Christ they're thin on the ground.
But when they made Hannah they broke the mould.

Growing up in Ireland it reminds me of the harsh times our people had with very little both here and of course in many parts of England as seen in the video
