San Diego: 4 Overdose on Fentynal on Fishing Boat 09242020 (UPDATED INFO)

DETAILS:
Police were called to the Shogun Fishing boat that was in the docks. The first report was of a man not breathing. When officers arrived, they found 4 males unconscious and not breathing.
They were all exhibiting signs of a drug overdose and were given Narcan.
All 4 were rushed to the hospital. NTF was called in due to a suspicion of fentanyl being used.
The boast had just come back from a 3-day fishing trip and had offload its customers and fish, and were getting ready to reload another group for a 3-day trip. Several people on the docks told us that the Captain was among the 4 men transported.
UPDATED: One person was arrested with Fentanyl found. This person was not a member of the crew and not one of the victims.

Can't image how I saved as many people as I did when according to you I was treating them all wrong. I'll make sure to tell all the other medics, ED RNs, ED MDs, and Naloxone makers that they need to change their opiate treatment protocols.
The problem is they didn't have a NO FENTANYL sign displayed.

Looks like every cop in the city showed to get credit for providing assistance at the scene.
😪 sad incident, and an embarrassment to the boating company. Hopefully many lessons were learned from this and it is not a total failure, for the lives of the people impacted as well as the company whom runs the boat.

Nothing was ever heard from this incident. This is not the only boat that has issues. A few weeks ago the sea jay out of Channel Islands ran aground and sank. The captain and crew declined the random drug test and the time. The deckhands work so many days in a row, and it’s not uncommon to see drug abuse. I was a deckhand in the early 2000’s, and it was the same way when I worked. I never used narcotics, just weed back in high school.
Thank God that boat had no marijuana on it!

I heard a rumour from a deckhand of a neighboring fishing boat at Fisherman's Landing, that some guest from the previous fishing trip had gave one of the members of the Shogun's crew a bindle of cocaine. So I imagine that the crew were thrilled to use some blow before preparing the boat for the next three day trip.

Misleading title for two reasons: One, they don't know AT THIS TIME that it was fentynol, and you ADD it to existing medications to guarantee a high. But since F. is so toxic (thank you, China) the mixing should be done by Rx lab equipment, for an extended period. What's killing our children is mixing is done either by hand or by those that don't know/don't give a shit if your kid dies. Some batches have none, others kill. I'm surprised this "issue" is so off the table on the Federal level.

I fished down there for years most of the crews were drug addicts ,got stuck out at sea once because the whole crew was passed out never got to fish ! we finally got the boat under way and went back to the harbor !!! they tried to to give us rain checks instead of our money back , Thats why I dont fish anymore
