    I work at a dealership and drive all type of cars, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Infiniti... We recently got a 2013 Fusion Titanium in trade and I was curious about the new model. After going over it, driving and thoroughly inspecting it I can tell you that I am very surprised what Ford did on this vehicle. Build quality is top notch, great technology and it drives excellent. Love it.

    Very good review!! I picked up my fusion hybrid last October and the great gas mileage easily justifies the extra cost. I'm currently averaging around 43mpg and on one trip to work I managed a little over 50. The best I ever managed in my other car was 29 mpg.

    Really enjoyed your video of the 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium. I am really fascinated by the hybrid technology, especially in the Ford and Toyota. I think they are superior to the Huandai and KIA and even the Honda's new 2014 Accord Hybrid. We have test driven both a Titanium and a couple of SE's. We are really impressed with the smoothness of the shifting with the eCVT transmission, and when the gas engine engages when needed. No shudder or vibration at all. And the car is more comfortable than the KIA sedan and even the Honda Accord. Haven't driven a Huandai yet, and don't really intend to. The car is quieter than any new car I've driven or ridden in so far. Hardly any road noise. You didn't mention that the microphones in the roof also work with the audio system to actually deaden the road noise inside the car. We are totally impressed with the Fusion Hybrid, and hope to buy one very shortly. Like your 1999 Monte Carlo, I'm driving a 1998 Cadillac DeVille now, which is beginning to really have mechanical and electrical problems. And you didn't mention that the Fusion has active grill shutters, which close and open as needed, reducing wind drag on the vehicle. And it has almost a completely sealed underbelly, further reducing drag. It feels roomier inside than the KIA Optima sedan, and you feel like you're sitting higher in the passenger and rear seats than you do in the KIA, because the windows are larger and lower so you see out better. More leg room also. Thanks.

    I purchased the same car in January. I did not know about the extra key in the key fob, thanks. You forgot to mention the air compressor and flat fixer in lieu of a spare tire in the trunk. Great report on the new tech.

      @Joe M Yep 118,000 trouble free miles averaged 41.2 MPG over all of those miles.

    Important tips missed:. If your FOB battery goes dead you will need the key inside the FOB to release the cap at the end of the door handle. The key hole to release that cap is under the handle There is a you tube video available to show you that. New battery for FOB was $1.97. There are two in the FOB and both need to be replaced. The car battery is in the trunk however, convenience terminals are under the front hood. If the car battery will not charge you won't be able to unlock the trunk. I had to fold down the rear seats and slide in on my back to reach that release handle (thinking now to attach a longer cord to the handle and attach it across the top of the trunk right behind the seats). Battery at automotive store was $129. Phone Sync-my TracFone LG Sunset is not compatible in the 2014.

    I got the AWD version. Really nice car drinks a lot of gas if you use premium fuel which burn faster than the lower grade fuel. The car is awesome. Only paid 32000 for it fully loaded (no sunroof and deleted spoiler). Got a discount from the Ford manufacturer. Currently got 4500+ miles on the car have been in use for about 3 months. The car is very quick after the break in period for the motor. I will keep the OEM parts for the 7 years that the car is under warranty. Will do my first oil change myself at a hobby shop next weekend. I may have about 5000 miles by that time. The car with my driving like a lead foot gets about 22 gallons average. It does seem as though the car save more gas in city driving than on the highway. Love it I need some type of analogy/digital converter for the sound quality. Sound system is awesome with FM but Sat radio need some tuning too compressed.

    Wow! This was the best overview I've seen on this vehicle-and I've watched a lot of them. Thank you so much for discussing what is most important to all . . . It doesn’t hurt that you have a very soothing voice too.
    I am in the process of researching vehicles and oscillating between either staying with a petroleum run vehicle or going with a hybrid. My dilemma is I’ve been watching several videos and reading consumers reports and most say the “stated” millage from the carmaker is inflated and not worth the extra money. Although most reviews state that the Toyota Prius have the best vehicles, because one is unable to hear the engine when changing from petroleum to electric, I definitely do not like the Prius panel. The icons are too small and the panel has too much on it, most of which I will never use. I would probably kill someone trying to figure out which of the two rear view windows to look through-out of habit, I’ll probably look behind me instead of using the camera.
    Can anyone please tell what the true millage is (stop and go traffic, like in Los Angeles i5)? Is the maintenance more with a hybrid than a petroleum run vehicle? Team work is good work☺ Thanks

    Great job on your review. Been going back and forth about going with the Ecoboost 1.6L or the Hybrid. I owned a 11 Prius but traded it cause it just was not a fun car to drive. I have a long commute to work and I am really leaning towards the Fusion Hybrid. Most difinitely will be going with the Titanium package. So thanks for your in depth review. It may have just sold my on the hybrid lol.

    We rented one a few weeks ago and I'm leaning hard towards one of these, but for some reason that touch screen display bugs me. First it's the position, and its sometimes hard to see when the sun hits it. Second, the mat finish really shows the finger prints. Other than that, I really like the car.

    Toyota basically set the standard hybrid configuration which this car is based off and even the smart locking doors too. The only thing that sets this car apart from the Prius flag ship is power and weight which in this case this car is heavy but has a good power to weight ratio with the 2.0L engine. Great video.

    • @DJAJ101
      @DJAJ101  10 років тому +1

      It's pretty good. All depends how you drive (slowing down and speeding up) and how fast you drive. I have about a 25 mile commute round trip everyday myself (almost all highway). I set the cruse between 55-60mph and I'm getting between 38-43mpg on average for every tank of gas. Love this car for sure it drives great and nice mpg! Hope that helps. Good luck!

      There is a plug-in model and there is the model that uses the Atkinson Cycle. The Atkinson Cycle uses the inertia from your braking to give energy back to the battery. I believe the plug-in model is called the Ford Fusion Energi

    • @raymondramirez9177
      @raymondramirez9177 5 років тому

      The Fusion drives all the time (100%) on electric. There is no shifting for speed changes. The gas engine is clutched in and runs at a different speed than the electric motor, while adding power because this is a parallel hybrid. There is no change in speed even if the gas engine shuts off. This is why there is no RPM gauge in the hybrid. As you drive, you NEVER need to worry about the gas engine because the transaxle is what controls the power going to the front wheels. You can over-ride that by shifting into "L" which forces the gas engine to stay on until you shift back into "D"..

    Hello Everyone, I just bought a 14 Accord Hybrid. Also, I mostly drive within the city; 90 % (Boston, MA.), of the time. I don't know about 50 mpg or greater But I am averaging 47 mpg.'s; in normal driving. I Will admit the 14 Ford Fusion Hybrid is Sexier; better looking But I couldn't pass up the greater mpg.'s and the Larger Fuel Tank in the 14 Accord Hybrid. I Would like to know IF Anyone has Ever Achieved 50 mpg.'s ( in a Fusion Hybrid or a Accord Hybrid )??!!
