I am happy to follow you in Oman, our Arab country. Even if I delayed following your blog until the end of 2024. This series has better and more beautiful photography than photography in Africa... and today I started following it 9-29-2024 after finishing your blog series in Africa - thank you - AKRAM JORDAN
all of the above comments have taken the Words from my mouth, so what can I say more, oh, I have found a Word not spoken yet, MARVELOUS RIDE, Thanks taking us on this magical Tour,
One of my all enduring memories of my early childhood living in the East African city of Dar es Salaam(haven of peace) were the massive majestic Omani sailing Dhows gliding into the harbour bearing all sorts of Middle East goods. The Omani’s sailing abilities are legendary and well known. It was one of the high lights of visiting my fathers office situated on the edge of the harbour, how he managed to kept his eyes on the Ordinance Survey maps he was drawing I don’t know.
Hey Lea. Can’t argue with your descriptions of the scenery on the coast road. Spectacular variations of colour in the rock faces . They must make it hard to concentrate on the winding road. I’d be stopping every 5 min for a photo op. I had no idea Oman had this much to offer the sightseeing traveller. Very friendly people too. Always a bonus. Thanks and ride safe. Peace, Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
I had to FORCE myself to not stop anymore so often. Already the day before we stopped so many times, that’s why we barely didn’t make any kilometers. 😂 it’s a pain in the ass when everything is so beautiful that you can’t even focus on riding the curvy roads 😂 (the only problems of a traveler in Oman).
Lea what a beautiful world we all live in, if only we could all get on with one another with no boundaries or territories to fight over. But alas we silly humans don't think like that, shame. And as you so rightly mentioned you had ran out of superlatives to describe the scenery unfolding before your eyes, truly stunning. But just think Lea when you are to old to tour the world on your motorcycle what memories you will have created. Thank you for letting us be part of your stupendous journey.
Oh noooo, I don’t want to think about the time when I will be too old to travel! I hope when I am really old I will just fall off the bike and finally died from the beauty overdose like I said in the video (but please not before getting 100 😂)
@@Got2Go Lea, I did this stretch in 2018 during Kharif (Monsoon season) with few of my friends but in the opposite direction. Stunning, fascinating, captivating, mesmerising, fabulous, breath-taking etc.; I do not know the right superlative to describe. (Not as eloquent as you are). We wated to do it all over again. Seeing and hearing it through your eyes and most eloquent commentary rekindles the urge to do the trip again soon. Thank you for your video.
Hello Lea, Thank you for just being there, and doing what you keep doing. What a joy you are!. I'd discovered your channel about 2 yrs back, thinking I'll watch 'when I'm free' - like today . Its wet, windy and cold here in Wellington, New Zealand. But watching your video has made me feel warm and toasty again. I'm getting ready for a ride. Lots of things to do. Have to catch up with your previous videos! Have fun, you. Ride safe. Deepak
Those steep mountains at the coast look like ancient reefs, similar to the Dolomites. Probably from the Tethys ocean; about 250-65 million years ago. It used to be coffee coffee for me but I changed to tea. The views are breathtakingly beautiful. I don’t see any rubbish next to the roads and in the villages which positively surprises me.
Unfortunately, certain non-Omanis from neighboring Arab countries traveling to the Dhofar region for the annual Monsoon festival leave lots of trash at Wadis and other scenic tourist spots. Witnessing this on several visits to Oman was quite disgusting and depressing.
The remote parts of the coast really didn’t have that much rubbish - but unfortunately there is as well rubbish that just comes from the ocean. So if you see rubbish in the more populated areas like Aaron wrote it is often tourists or visitor - or the rubbish is coming straight out of the ocean becsue our oceans unfortunately are a sea of plastic. 😔
Looks like a really Amazing Place! That Travel Partner is a really Mysterious Dude. If You ever did a reveal I bet it would get a tone of views. Love the Videos!
Nooo, you are not closer to the water, you have to watch the last episode, you are nowhere as close to the water on highway 1 as on the road in the last one. BUT: I love the Californian too, its absolutely awesome!
With the overtime I work, I didn’t get to watch this right away. I have to say that it was well worth the wait. Once again stunningly beautiful ride on the coast. Thanks as always for taking us along.
"Died from a beauty overdose " seems like a distinct possibility! I am glad that you had a great ride and I agree with your description of the landscape!
hi leah: It is nice to see my dear town, and you have referred to it with a beautiful description in your wonderful report. Sorry, we weren't aware of your coming until we did our duty of hospitality to you..
That is indeed a beautiful coast road and great you had it to yourselves. When I find my self in a cafe/Bar at a beautiful spot I am so content l often think I could stay here forever , but eventually the road beckons.
Your videos connect your viewers (at least me) directly to Oman's awesomeness, exceptionally good work and a huge treat, keep it up and thanks a lot 🙏🌟🔥🙋🍀☺️!!
That makes me super happy - if only 10 percent of its beauty can be transported with the videos, that’s already a lot. I don’t want you guys to die from a beauty overdose either! 😂
Lea, I'm so glad you went to Oman and created this wonderful series. I've been to Oman. On business and sadly only for 7 days mostly in Muscat with only about a day to sightsee but that brief time did include a ride south of the city and into one of the little fishing villages on the coast. One of the favorite images I have in my mind is of an Omani woman in that village walking in her stony yard surrounded by her goats. She had the most contented smile I may have ever seen. I really wanted to capture her image on my camera but I couldn't do it ... it just felt too intrusive. I've also been to Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Oman is my favorite. You're so right about the people being so friendly and the pace is infinitely more relaxed than the Emirates. The seafood is great. If I am asked what Oman looks like I tell them to imagine Arizona's desert mountains right next to an ocean. I'd go back to Oman in a heartbeat. Take care, all the best to you and Travel Partner.
We had the same stunning impressions, unbelievable and I will do it again. I miss a stop at As Shuwaymiya as well as the drive into the Wadi. Did‘nt you know about the Sugar Dunes near Al Khaluf? Unbelievable beautiful experience
Thanks Lea for showing us this country. It feels like you found a hidden treasure. We are so curious what you have more in store of Oman 🤩 all the best for you
Nice! Was in the Emirates in 2005, in Oman to but just a daytrip there driving around. I also thought it was very quiet and almost empty streets many places. Thank you for bringing back some memories!
Absolutely fabulous!! We've been following your Oman adventure on the telly but had not got round to giving you a thumbs up on our phones. Thank you for taking us all with you. You are so right, it really does seems like this is the most amazing coastal ride in the world! 🇴🇲 So glad you did not die of a beauty overdose 😆
I will try to avoid to die from a beauty overdose in the future too so I can take you guys along the ride further. Thanks for watching and heading here for giving the thumbs up! 😍
OMG… what an awesome experience for you, absolutely breath taking, and helpful people. Any women in this towns besides you? Thank you for taking us on this awesome trip with you 💕
Of course, but Omanis in general don’t “hang” a lot on the roads, all workers and restaurant owners you saw so far were mostly Bangladeshi/Pakistani (the omani guy that is knotting his headscarf for us for example just stopped for us and came out of his car, he was not just “hanging around” by coincidence). And because it is a very Muslim country women mostly as well don’t want you to take their pictures and videos (I always ask before I do so), so I can only show you what I get the permission to film. But even though women like all Omanis don’t “hang around” on the roads they are allowed to do everything they want. University for example is for both genders and mixed and it’s not a Muslim country that has a super strict separation.
@@Got2Go thanks for the info.. it’s just that I hadn’t seen any women, but as you say you have respect their privacy, and that’s a good thing. Oh that Omani guy was so proud and awesome.. really lovely respectful people. I suppose living in the US as I do, there isn’t a spot without people ..Safe travels and thanks again for the breathtaking scenery and for filling me in on Omani culture.. much appreciated💕
Stunning country…such diverse scenery especially in the south during monsoon. My favourite is the musandam peninsular in the north on the straits of Hormuz, breathtaking roads with huge mountains falling away to crystal blue sea…wonderful place.
What a great episode! The coastal highway is amazing and beautiful. I love how open and free the road is, unlike the PCH in Cali where it's crowded and tons of traffic. The food looks amazing and now I'm hungry, lol. Looking forward to the next episode. Ride Safe!
I was fortunate to have traveled that road with a friend who was living in Salalah at the time several years ago. From Salalah westward towards the Yemen border, and then again towards Mirbat on another occasion, I marveled at the breathtaking scenery and enchantment during the entire drive. The ambience and vibes unique to that region of the world made me think that ancient hominids migrating out of Africa and settling in Arabia. They followed the coastline as they migrated eastward, and some going inland, following herds and feeding off the seafood.
@@Got2Go Indeed! At a stop near to Mirbat, my Omani guide suggested I walk to a high point to take in the view, and my first thought was that here was where many early humans trekked eastward during their migrations across the planet.
