Oman is really magical, I visited Salalah & Dhufar region once but by car, I hope to revisit it by the bick 🏍️. Thanks for the fantastic video.
Loved going to Salalah, Oman during Khareef season for the annual Salalah Cultural Festival. Beautiful scenes of the drab color of the dry landscape transformed into a lush green carpeted one, with streams of water flowing in wadis offer a dreamy experience. Camels walking about unrestrained, beautiful people going about their daily activities, lack of annoying billboard ads, serenity with the mountains and arid patches mixed in---a heavenly vista.

I had to think about this for a bit. Given where I live and have travelled, I can’t imagine living in the remote parts of Oman. Barren. Desolate. Unforgiving.
However… in a time of emotional crisis and in need of personal reflection, can I imagine a more spiritual place for guidance, meditation, and possibly… forgiveness? Nope.
Epic doesn’t begin to describe the grandness of what we witness of Oman today. Thanks for sharing!

Great episode Lea. Looked beautiful on the screen, cant imagine what in must be like when you're right in the middle of it. When you come to Canada you have to look up Magnetic Hill in New Brunswick, though unlike in Oman you have to pay a nominal fee for the thrill of waiting in long lines with fellow tourists and a 1 minute roll up the hill experience 😅. All those dark stains on the roads..... leaked oil from vehicles?, camel droppings? or evidence of unfortunate, unintentional contact with a ship of the desert?

I like the book better 😉. Don’t think the movie covers at all what is in the book (plus is it of course written in a time of colonialism and therefore being read with some caution and reflection at any time because so many things that are glorified in book and movie are simply racist).
