How to bring your paintings to life with reflections: "New York in the Rain" live painting session
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- Here I share how I paint a New York Cityscape scene, with acrylics and ink. I build the structure of the architectural scene using inks and handmade 'pens' I made using old brush handles and bamboo! I then work to complete the scene with reflections of the bustling intersection in the rain soaked street, sharing my thoughts on perspective and vanishing points along the way!
Thanks for watching!

This piece is blowing up on TikTok today. Put a price on it today and it will sell today. By the way, you won my sub. Art has been my life but drugs also took my life as well. Luckily I've grown up and have been sober now five years. Hello from Anaheim California USA
Hello from the UK! Congrats on the 5 years sober
I’ve only just found you recently, but I must say your art really inspires me, this is the type of art I want to make and I’m very glad I’m following a master ❤❤
Absolutely love your style. Has inspired me to take up painting again. My first job is to try to duplicate your work/use it for inspiration. Would love to see how you put the final touches on this painting. Amazing work!
Would love another step by step video on this. I'm failing miserably at trying to copy your techniques
There’s a saying “never let negativity become your reality” you have proofed it to be way by far one of the most creative artist of our times. Also not to mentioned so humbled that you’re here showing us how its done. Greatly appreciated!
We can't always change what happens or happened to us, not everything is a matter of perspective.. but we can change how we react to it and those around us.. and allow it to strengthen us enough to gentle us..
❤❤❤
I’ve just discovered your tuto ! I looked at it like a film and wanted to know the end ! Amazing ! Thanks for giving us some keys of your art. Cécile from Belgium 🎨
Okay well... Sorry for multiple comments, but I'm going to save this video for later so I can paint along with you..
❤
Excellent video ! And congratulations on your great work ! How do you keep your acrylics wet for so long ? As they appear to be on a dry palette…which medium do you use for this ?
Hi, how much do you sell these paintings for?£€$?
Thank you
What is the "rule of thirds"? (Sorry, just a happy amateur painter here ❤ )
I tried following along with this video and it was so fun. Please make some more full length painting tutorials like this please. Copy jay lee a bit who has like 800 videos. You taught me about focal point and perspective and tones
Brilliant I enjoyed that makes me want to create something of my own
I like the vertical camera.. but you need a camera stand
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing. What is canvas size?
It like playing chess on canvass 🤔 your always ahead of the game.
Watching you paint is a joy and so relaxing. 👍

The Eye in the Sky!
Funny how things appear in all pieces.
Magnificent work🙏🏻❤️
Loved that. Attempting my own cityscape.
My favorite part of your awesome technique is the splattering, I laugh every time. Like so many of us, we get hung up on perfection mode. Your video is both inspiring and insightful. Thank you.
I'd never thought about texturing the canvas before painting!!!! Wow!
Thank you so much!!
❤
WoW learning a lot from you. 🙏 thank you
I’m absolutely obsessed with your paintings! I love them! Will you do a seattle/pike place market scene?

Following you on IG for a long time but decided to see if you were on UA-cam. So glad you have tutorials here so now I’ll follow here as well! You are a Master indeed!! I love your work, Pau!
Perfect 🇧🇷
I like it😊
MAN... SUCH OF NICE CONCEPT 👌 ... I LOVE ❤️ IT !
Can you do more videos like this? It’s great to watch your work and learn from it
Hi there, I've been planning to post a lot more of my live painting sessions here on UA-cam for some time now, but everything has been so busy, and to be honest the live stream format of TikTok and Instagram is easier for me to get out to people! However, I'm hoping now that by starting with shorter videos of smaller works, I can start posting here more regularly! With the landscape format of UA-cam I hope to also include closeup 'picture in pictures' of my palette whilst I work, and other cool things like that!
Waouh ! Magnifique ! Merci beaucoup pour le partage de ce tableau.Suggerer...ça fonctionne très bien.
Paul, It's absolutely fantastic and so mesmerised watching the full video. Hopefully you can share one of your snowy mountain range painting video too. Thanks
Thank you so much. I'm working on building this channel more now, so will look for something nice from my Mountainscapes collection. Subscribe & click notifications to find out when!
Beautiful ! Thanks to
Teach ❤️
I really like your painting.
Oils??
Fantastic!
It's acrylics in this particular painting.
Beautiful
I appreciate your videos showing how it's done. I'm a 3rd gen artist, so grew up learning, but still doubt my abilities. I am autistic and it causes such a mental block. Trying now to learn these types of paintings, so I can be looser and actually enjoy the process, instead of being frustrated the whole way thru..
Wish you'd stop taking the brown buildings away
Fantastic artwork!! Think you need a new cameraman though
that art is actually pretty easy to do. try it guys you will be surprised.
Paul, lindo trabalho. Um grande abraço de um admirador de suas obras aqui no Brasil!
Beautiful. And the approach is beautiful too, not looking for perfection and just taking it in as the whole picture...getting the main things right like perspective and reflections...also that motion trick blew me away. Im really really impressed. Thank you
Cameramen… make you job better… thats really sucks.
Viewer, make you English better, its really sucks also
