our icse and cbse boards are maintaining very high standards of education ...i have seen america ,canada, UK, books on biology upto class 12 and they written nothing in comparison to ours they are really dumb peoples before commenting anything come with facts not emotions and what we do in college is we do all bookish but they do very practical of that and thats the only difference ....

Mam as per ncert sigma factor helps only intiation thats ok &rho factor which is responsible for the termination not help in elongation.elongation is carried itself by RNApolymerase not any other factor .

There is a mistake... rho factor doesn't requires during elongation ..it only required during termination but not all the time there is also Rho independent termination that doesn't require rho protein

Sigma factor is responsible for initiation and rho factor is responsible only for termination. Rho factor does not help in elongation,

Why does the DNA strand having the polarity 3'---5' works as template and not as coding strand ??

switching its position with terminator, the definition of coding and template

Promoter site do not have TATA box....
It is the sigma factor which recognises promoter site with the help if TATA box
In prokaryotes before 10 nitrogen bases from promoter site a sequence of 6 base pairs (TATAAT) is present on DNA which is called Pribnow box
In Eukaryotes before 20 nitrogen bases from promoter site a sequence of 7 bases (TATAAAA or TATATAT )is present on DNA which is called TATA box or Hogness box
