My wife and I finally got on our paddle boards and it was a blast. We just paddling on our city lake here. I did make a video of our adventure. Thanks for advice on the boards.
I'm sure you've been asked this a million times, but I've never seen it in all the videos I've watched. How long can you hold your breath? It seems ridiculously long !! I love your videos. Watching them encouraged me to try kayaking for the first time at 68 even though I'm totally out of shape and have copd. I absolutely loved it!! THANK YOU !!
The water was so clear that it was mesmerizing to see the fish seem to levitate under that grass! We are a local food page in Dothan BTW. been watching your adventures for quite a while now!
Hey Trip, I'm a 58 yr old adventuring female. We recently did a 2 night/3 day trip in the S.C. Edisto river and plan to do Florida Springs in the Spring just not sure exactly where. Preferably away from gators🐊😳. Thanks for your motivation and inspiring videos and getting me out there. I will surely have to do a "Trip Dip!"
Got back from PCB a couple days ago. Got to visit Ecofina and Pitt Springs. Cypress and Morrison were flooded. Awesome vacation. Hope to see you down there sometime trip!
Awesome vid, this place has been on my list for awhile. Been kayaking all over Florida but not in the panhandle. Thanks for posting a paddleboard adventure and not just the big boat trips. It's all fun, but I especially like your kayak and paddleboard adventures. Sometime please do a visit to the Silver River near Ocala (starting at Ray Wayside Park). Would love to see your reaction to the monkeys!
Hey Trip! We went kayaking yesterday and the lake claimed yet another phone. I lost mine in the water again. Fried it good but we had a fantastic adventure. My sister and two cousins all tried kayaking and they loved it! So new phone new adventures. Trip dip. My cousin and I did Trip dips. Me to get my phone out of the water. Him to cool off. It was so much fun with three new kayakers.
I know you did not ask..... Try using 2 zip lock baggies. Water might leak into the outside baggie but it will never get into the inner baggie. Plus it will float. Sorry for your luck. But maybe not. To loose two phones, you have to be lucky enough to live and play near beautiful water with a kayak.
I wasn't worried about the phone. It was a 50 dollar Trac phone. I have a waterproof case to put it in but I can't see the screen when geocaching. I had so much fun with the family that the phone was a minor inconvenience. So I went overnight without a phone. I survived without one. The new phone is water resistant.
GREAT EPISODE AS ALWAYS BRO, IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY COME VISIT ALEXANDER SPRINGS , PADDLE TRAIL IS GREAT COUPLED WITH THE HEADSPRING TO MAKE A GREAT TRIP!
Shout out to dive talk youtube channel! They do cave diving and other scuba stuff.. i love free diving.. im up 1 minute walking under water with a large rock for weight lol
Cave divers leave their decompression tanks in the cavern so they don’t have to carry them during the dive. Many divers are already carrying their two main tanks (back or side mounted) along with one or more stage bottles (side mounted). When they finish their dive, they come back to the cavern and pick up the decompression tanks (usually containing 100% oxygen) and breathe the oxygen to reduce the decompression time required compared to decompressing using the gas they breathe on the dive (usually a Nitrox mix). If you are ever in a Spring cavern and see tanks, do not move them or take them as you could seriously injure a diver who was depending on the gas in those tanks to safely complete the dive without getting bent (decompression sickness).
That is what I was thinking but wasn't sure. It makes all the sense in the world to have backup tanks for decompression. Thanks for explaining that. It helps other people to hear that explanation. So they will know to leave things there. It could cost a life.
@@kathywrightjohnson6804 Deco tanks have been stolen at popular springs where swimmers and snorkelers are in the same cavern as cave divers. It’s likely some who take the tanks are simply unaware of their use and think they’re abandoned but others who steal deco tanks know what they are doing and don’t care. Hopefully this will educate those that are simply ignorant.
Disclaimer... trip is in excellent shape and knows his limits. Please do not try this if you are unsure of yourself and your limits. You can very easily be injured or die.
Hey Trip, always enjoy the videos. I’m looking at getting two iSUPs for the family. We’re looking at either Bote or Blackfin. I keep seeing a lot of pictures of peoples’ boards delaminating and leaking with little to no support from customer service. I’m just nervous about spending my money I’ve saved up for something I’m not going to get support on. Have you had any interaction with Blackfin customer service or any issues with bote or blackfin? Sorry for the long post
Glad to hear that! I haven't had interaction with either companies customer service.... I do know that in the past year, ISUP sales have gone up considerably. This has left companies like iRocker (Blackfin) with more business than they could handle. I also know that iRocker has more than doubled their staff in order to try to keep up with things. I think the consensus is that iRocker has better customer service though than anyone else, but their increase in popularity has made even the best customer service seem not so great. Not having interaction with iRocker's customer service doesn't mean I'm uninformed though. Lets just say, I got my info direct from the top ;) Also, don't hesitate to go with a iRocker series board if you don't want to spend the money on the Blackfin. Still great boards....
@@TripSmith Thank you sir for the reply...I'm reading great things about the Blackfin series and Bote, but I've also read bad things about them as well...I guess that pretty much goes with anything in life haha...just feeling a little nervous about taking the "dip"...feeling like I may go with the Blackfin x/XL for my first iSUP for fishing...might even start a youtube fishing channel ;) - Thanks again for your help
Holding my breath. I try to take care of myself, exercise, eat well and practice breath holding a bit. Being comfortable in the water is a big determining factor as well.
@@TripSmith man I smoke cigarettes. I’d never be able to do that. I quit for three years once and started again 🤦🏻♂️ looks like takes for me in I go under lol
Trip, how long can you actually stay underwater? Can you give us some tips on any exercises you can do to prepare you for deep dives, and I noticed how you squeeze your nose before going deeper. I remember you referenced this in another video, but I don’t think you went into detail about it. Thanks in advance.
How long depends on how hard I'm exerting myself. I could probably relax and go 2 minutes maybe? I think I've done some 1:30 or 1:40 dives.... Exercises would be laying on the floor and practicing breath holds pretty much. That and getting into good physical condition so it's easier for your body to move yourself around. Yep, squeezing and slightly blowing out of your nose makes where you don't feel the pressure build-up by equalizing the pressure in your ears.
Great video Trip. I must admit I had a little anxiety in those last few caves though haha!
Thanks Kenneth! Ah, fun stuff!
Amazing to see those caves thru your eyes.
Glad you enjoyed it Lisa!
Awesome video. Looks like you need to bring scuba diving to the channel. Be careful free diving in those caves.
I was thinking the same thing, wonder if he is certified. Would love to see it. He has the perfect boat for it now too!
Scuba would be something fun to add to the channel for sure. I am certified but haven't done it in quite a while.....
Would love to see a scuba adventure @@TripSmith

Nice! Paddleboarding is what brought me to your channel. Glad to see you throw one in there for us
Damn man, balls of steel. Not sure how comfortable I would feel snorkeling as far into one of those caves as you did. Such a beautiful place though.
Yay! Got something to watch at the gym tomorrow. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures.
Wow right on man. I'd get lost and loose breath cool video.
Love that place!
Cool paddle board. Thinking about getting one and for the family.

We were in Marianna for a minute. It's crazy, there's so much vegetation down there you cant tell what's around you until you really get out there
