Matt I consider adding some header wrap to exhaust tube going over the frame. It will keep the heat off the camper frame. Long drives build up some heat !! 🔥
Sooo happy to see your new videos. I am excited to see the changes you make based on your experience from the first version. Can't wait for the new adventures after your new modifications!
Looks great. I'd be lucky to even have a weld that looks as good as that. I'm so happy about the new build. Toyota is the best. They keep running and running.
One more is you may want to put a weep hole for condensation buildup. It will have no way to escape and will shorten muffler life. Might be a better idea for a turn down pipe at the muffler and leave it under the truck . Just thinking out loud . No criticism meant. Just thinking Safety
I love to weld but mine doesn't look as good as yours look. You can be proud of those welds. Do you have any idea's about where you are heading next? I ask my wife and she said she would love to spend a summer traveling around Canada. She isn't very keen on Alaska though.
Interesting that she would want to travel around Canada, but not have any interest in Alaska. Is there a particular reason why? I think our next longer trip will probably be west coast USA, Canada, and Alaska, but we haven't started really planning anything yet.
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal She hates bugs and mosquitoes and she has heard that Alaska is full of them. Years ago we went to Canada and she loved it. At our age I am the adventures one, she is not so much..
Are you using argon? Looks like your welds are getting better. It took me a while to figure out the right welder settings and time on the trigger so wasn’t burning through. Keep up the good work!
I think so, but I am going to finish the camper and try to get a better idea of how much she weighs loaded up before I do anything with the suspension.

Thanks for the suggestion Ron
Love it! Customized for 'high clearance'!
Heck yeah stacking skills to open that overland garage near that perfect wave somewhere over yonder
It's definitely one of the potential future expat business ideas float around in the old noggin

Thanks Mick
Excellent video
Sending some love y'alls way. Cant wait for next video
Nice beads!
Good job. Wish I was as skill full as you to build my own truck.
Thanks. Anything I know is from experience. Tail and error, but hopefully not too many errors 😅
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal it is totally trial and error 100 percent

Thanks. I continue to be impressed by our 26 year old truck 👍
I've got one of those mufflers on my 3rd gen 4Runner! I love it! Has gotten louder over the years, but not too bad yet.
Good to hear. (no pun intended)
It's looking good Matt.
Looks way better than my welds! 😅
Looks way bettet than my welds! 😅
I think you're having fun with this. It's addicting.
Yeah. I just wish I could spend a bit more time on it. 6 days a month doesn't equate to much progress. But I'll keep chipping away at it😁
😎👍

I did a turndown pipe under a truck I used to have and it just seemed to make it way louder inside the cab. I definitely don't want that again.

@@MichaelRankin70ad right on. I'm just as excited for Canada as I am for Alaska. It all just looks so pretty and lots of open space

Thanks. Yeah, I'm using an argon mix. Practice makes better👍
Is it 4 or 6 cylinder or Manuel or automatic
Are you going to add a leaf spring?
