Dealer Questioned About Silver's RETAIL MARKUP! What He Reveals SURPRISED ME!!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
- In this video I ask my bullion dealer explains the gold and silver markup at a retail level. When a local coin shop dealer, like Tim Marschner of The Coin and Stamp Shop, sells silver there is a markup or premium added in order for the business to stay in business. What he reveals--namely trying to make $1 an ounce on silver--really surprised me. The profit margins are super tight! Tim discusses answers this question as well as the possible markup with a gold and silver miner, refiner, mint, wholesaler, and finally to the retailer who sells the precious metals to the customer. We also discuss supply and demand of the 2024 Canadian Silver Mapleleaf and what his wholesaler is selling Tim. Finally, we review the various silver and gold options available at this coin shop. It's a rare quiet time at Tim's store and a great opportunity to learn more about stacking silver and gold! Never before has stacking precious metals been as important to do as it is today. Protect yourself from out-of-control governments, evil central banks, and the failing US dollar's grip as the world's reserve currency. Make sure you build a stack of silver rounds, silver bars, silver coins, and gold coins as essential barter and wealth preservation!

Yesterday I watched Tim's vidio on how T & D bank is kicking him to the ground after being a customer for years and now today how hard he has to work to keep his shop stocked. Hopefully Tim & other small coin shops can survive.
1 percent profit. Wild.
It almost sounds like they wrote an episode of Yankee stackers. It doesn't seem real that someone who puts the largest amount of money in the bank and they want to kick him out. That's the whole purpose of banking and that keeps the money flowing. So the only logical thing is what they're saying that they're trying to get rid of paper money. So they can start the Ponzi scheme over again.
Yeah. I heard about the banking issues. We definitely need an alternative to the centralized bank system to protect our citizens
You pair are a couple of hams! Love watching the Tim’s coin shop episodes.
Love Tim's old-fashioned store and just has boxes of stuff casually laying around. Such personal and dedicated service, fascinating!
GOD BLESS TO ALL MY FELLOW AMERICANS. STAY STRONG AT THESE HARD TIMES WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS.
This video was "a bit" more lighthearted than the last, it was definitely needed. I think we all need a good laugh at our failings, then learn, overcome and end up stronger.
I needed it too!! 😆
I’m pretty sure Tim was supposed to say the wheel is RIGGED at the end.
Tim prob did say it but Yankee cut that part out.. LOL 😆
😂😂🤣
We all know all electronic tabulations are rigged
@@M_R23Exactly!!
I’m thinking the whole world is rigged at this point.
Cost:
The price it takes to make something.
Wholesale:
The price to buy, store and distribute items in bulk.
Retail:
The final retail store price, for public sales.
Hello Yankee and Tim ,
Thank you gentlemen 🙏 I did some adding to the stack today 👍
If you all would please say a prayer for my City this evening, a horrible tragedy happened at the KC Chiefs victory parade.
Very very heart breaking injuries . Children involved also 😔
Thank you Yankee family 🙏🕊️💞✝️
Blessings to you all
Children's Mercy Hospital said it received 11 children, ranging in age from 6 to 15. 》 😢 indeed, didn't hear about it (I am in Europe). 🙏🙏🙏
I love sovereign fractional gold coins, usually find them very close to spot.
I love Tim and yankee like family. Thanks for making stacking funner 😂
Get your money out of the banks people
It's not a game anymore. This is very serious.
Might as well stack half cash half precious metals
Metals and crypto 🎉
@@naasirzaman6219 yes indeed! 😃
Someone I know😉, is considering buying a house. The lender was concerned about lack of bank $$$. When cash under the mattress was mentioned, she said it was frowned upon by the underwriter. She understood.
I love any video with Tim in it!!!!
Tim for president 2024!
Premiums on silver is so high and when you want to sell they don't even want to give you spot!
Don't sell to an LCS.
Sell privately. That'll be the day I sell for spot...or at all.
Silver and gold are real money.
My opinion.
Sd bullion is $0.75 per Ounce over spot for a kilo not bad free ship so🎉
Silver sold cheaper then melt 2-13 first time for me.
Tim is very fair about what he pays you for silver. last time I was in the shop somebody was selling silver, they got more than spot price. The thing about Tim is he's fair and honest. That's why people travel from all over the country to get to his shop
You can ship to SDBullion, Tim or Tennessee Coin unless comex bars or 100 oz bars your going to get spot or more.
What a great gentleman, I'm talking about, Tim. Thank you, Yankee, for posting the video.
Tim is amazing! After all the kicking to the curb by his bank, Tim is still pleasant, charming, and smiling!
He knows that all his followers and customers support and value him, and that we intensely dislike the bank bs actions they have taken against a wonderful bank customer.
I hope Tim finds a good bank that values and supports his excellent business.
Firing range practice might be even more important than the other metals accumulation;. Gold, silver, and lead. Don't neglect any of these!
God bless u Tim ! This country needs more people like you than we would have something!🙏🏻
Love Tim's sense of humor in messing with you Yankee. What a nice way to end my day, kick back and watch my two favorite U-Tube stars shop talk.
Lot of people don't understand to mine silver and then bring it to the table is what determines the premium. I hear all the time silver is $23, but they want $28 for a silver coin.
I'm still praying for Gold to continue to dip, so I can buy under $2000. Fingers crossed...
Glad you enjoyed it! 😆
diesel is a by product of gas it used to be very cheap now it's higher than gas. So maybe silver will get higher than gold.
The problem with your statement is silver is not a by product of gold. But i know what you mean and maybe someday it will come true.😊
Not necessarily true silver can be mined at a good mine too!Gold is found near tar sands I’ve been told.
@@johnpetrossi6406 What you say maybe true. But i was just stating that silver is not a bi product of gold.
@@johnpetrossi6406 I never said it was , they did.
Yankee, thanks for covering the old world European coins with Tim. Those are the coins that I stack instead of fractional eagles. Demand is low for these coins in the US so I can usually pick them up for melt plus $6-$10/coin. Sometimes I've gotten them at just melt value. I love stacking these coins because since the premiums are so low, I can stack more gold for less.
Yep same here. I just hope that I can sell them back for spot price.
I believe those buffalo bars are from the Frontier Mint, a relatively new mint in Utah with close ties to the wholesaler. The wholesaler is slowly integrating them with their outgoing orders for generic 1 oz silver bars and awaiting feedback. So far from what little I've seen & heard, they look good and people like them as a generic option.
Tim I'd love to rummage around in the back of your store just to have a gander (look). We in Australia may have the Perth and Royal Aussie Mints, but honestly mate, the various pieces you show on your videos just blow's me away. I'm honestly blessed with your wisdom in the History of Silver. God Bless you guys. Draw closer to Him and He will keep you safe.
Bought the dip, twice this week! 🎯👍🎯
Well, there's a dip twice a week.
I don't see hhow on earth Tim can keep track of his inventory, so much, so varied, let's take a tour!
Roaming around in Tim's back room would be a treasure hunt !!
This Kinda reminds me of Christmas morning as a kid!😂😂😂
Heck ya lol @@AGAUaddict
Wow tubes of bars ....watch out that could be a game changer. I would love to have that
Tim says you got to buy the silver bars to get the tube. There are aftermarket containers for bars that are fairly cheap. I went down to Tim Shoppe recently and bought a few more 1 oz bars and now I have a full tube.
Good stuff! Love those old Engelhards you gentlemen talked about.
Thank you! always entertaining and informative!
For many years, I stocked metals slowly and regularly, and kept a good cash reserve just in case plastic became unusable. The past few years, I’ve converted much of my cash into metals, keeping a much smaller cash reserve. Things have changed dramatically in the past 15yrs. I have no bank savings, or portfolio of any kind. Anything that could potentially be wiped away with the click of a mouse, or a padlock on the banks door, I don’t own. Crypto is great. But where are you going to spend it? How am I going to convert it to dollars, when the dollar is worthless? The financial world is a cesspool of corruption, theft, and illusion at this moment. It’s bad folks. Just how bad, most people don’t have a clue.
Yes.. the thievery goes deep and wide. So many are blind to it unfortunately.
Great video yankee, thanks for all you do. These were the Swiss 20 francs i was describing to you in our last meeting. Love all the different ones out there. The ducats are a favorite fractional as well. Cant wait for the next meeting.
Tim and Yankee mentioned George. So did Dave from LSM. I met George about a year before He passed. A great business Man and a better Mentor here in Stoneham
Absolutely enjoy watching the videos you produce with Tim in them! You two have great chemistry and it’s always interesting when you interview some of his customers that walk in. Thanks for the great work!
Hi there. Bless you guys.
Got 2 of the Maple Leaf 1/10th. The 2024 is of only 5000 mintage in proof. Has Charlie on it.😅
Thank you gentlemen for the video.
You and Tim make a good team love the videos with Tim!!!
Thanks Yankee, that was fun and educational video. I particularly enjoyed the foreign coins from Europe 😊
Always a pleasure watching. Thanks for the video.....Life is good. God Bless
Excellent report 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💯
I recently (well, come to think of it maybe two years ago, hahaha) bought a few British sovereigns as presents for my grandkids. It was fun to put it on the table next to a $100 bill and ask them which was worth more, and then look it up together. A year later, I put it next to $500 cash and told them they could choose, and they all chose the gold.
WOW I enjoy leaning from you two Gentelmen !!!
I have some of the save Maple leafs in those package . Bought in the 90’s
Hiya Yankee - Tim just cracks me up! Greetings to you both from the UK.❤
I absolutely love your videos especially with Tim. I truly wish there more coin dealers that are as honest as tim is. I have a question for Tim. Should I invest more in silver dimes or silver quarter or both.
I need one of those Buffalo bars!
This is the guy I want to buy metals from! Great guy! Thanx Yankee for bringing him to us!!!!!
I always enjoy watching you and Tim. Thanks for the great content.
I just ordered 2 qtr oz gold : an eagle+ a lib proof. My 1st buy since May of 2020. Bottom line, I paid a 13% mark up which wuda Never done yrs ago. But, I just paid $4.60 for a large Fries at burger K. So, guess u gotta roll w the changes. Lol
Problem is you bought proof
I have a wonderful LCS here in Tulsa. I really enjoy your almost daily visits with Tim.
I like and subscribe...I enjoy the quiet energy of thses chats...Im in the S/W of England...
Another fantastic video with you and Tim. Loads of information and lots of nice gold and silver to salivate over. LOL. Hope you all have a blessed week.
Love the Tim videos!! Ty Yankee!
Another great video.
I love Tim's store. He is the King of organised chaos 🙂
Worked at Homestake mine in the Up of Mi on construction. copper mine. . some silver in the copper.
Cool!!
Snowmobiling in copper country was just amazing in the winter! Stayed in a couple mansions in Laurium that the copper big wigs owned around the turn of the century. Memories I'll have forever!
I noticed with the popular online bullion dealers they raise the spot price then add a 6$ premium on silver coin and at least a $100+ to gold coins on top of their ballooned spot price. When spot drops they just hike up their premiums even more..
Tim is like a wise dad ive never had
My favorite small gold coin is the Indian head the old constitutional early 1900s
Always SO interesting listening to Tim. He has a wealth (no pun intended) of knowledge 👍👍👍
Very excited about when the day comes i can drive out and see Tim in person. God i love to see the piles of Frational gold, even though i dislike premiums and tend to roll with the 1 ozt. Gotta start rolling out 401k $ into gold and silver.
Manchester Firing line is excellent.
For an indoor range, yes!
Go check out the Sig facility in Brentwood/Epping/Exeter area. Huge.
Great job
Yankee the double sovereign looks like a gold coin that was part of the Canada's gold reserves back in the 1915. Or about that time.
Good times right there!
Hi Yankee,.. Just got home to view this video, loved the time I spent with you, 'n Tim today,... Can't wait to do it again, but admit, my butt is sore from 'bout 10 hours in the truck seat,... stuck my autographed sticker on my new laptop, 'n searched up the Porcfest you mentioned,... got it penciled in on my calander,.....
A Big Thank You to both yerself, 'n Tim,....
Awesome to meet you today at Tim’s!! Watch for you on next week’s video! 👌🏼
A very interesting bag of fractional gold, I started stacking buying gold sovereigns around year 2,000, they cost £55 each then, a half around £35. I still have these coins, it just shows you what a good investment gold is, I am still buying gold coins too. Sovereigns are very easy to recognise in any country and have excellent premiums as well as being highly collectable.
Unbelievable that gold box is sweet. You have it all my friend. I need to get to new Hampshire soon.
Did I hear Engelhard silver bars??? Sign me up👍🇺🇸🔥Luv any and all vintage silver but especially Engelhard's! Also really like ducats! Thanks Yank and Tim for the fun vid with plenty of gold and great acting by Tim at the end haha😂😂😂
I vote that Tim allows Yankee or Tim’s daughters organize that back room and bring the metals to the showroom display cases. Then Yankee can video the showroom contents. Products would fly out the door because everyone wants to buy from Tim. 😀
Love the idea!!
I like some of the old European gold but I don't own much since it's difficult to sell. It's nice to know that 90% is still a good seller. Thanks, Yankee!
Only buying 9999 Canadian gold and 9999 silver. Pure is better!
@@robertporter6507why no gold bars ? I'm a beginner and would like to know. Thanks
I love the foreign gold! I just can’t afford it right now.
Love that 1oz buffalo bar AND the buffalo rounds.
There are non-cash expenses that affect natural resource costs. Used in accrual accounting for natural resources, Depletion cost, is calculated for oil, timber and metals etc.
I sold 4 rolls of silver rounds to a small shop in Everett, Wash. 3 years or so ago, silver was $25. per oz. The dealer
paid me spot and sold them for $5. each over spot. I would not pay that much mark up but was happy to get the full
$25. an oz.
Sunshine mints silver from idaho mostly. ASAHI in salt lake pours big 1000 oz from kennekot copper mine . Kennecot copper here in salt lake pays its expenses in gold.
I went to the Mexican mint in San Luis Potosi. The only gold coins they had for sale were 1/10th oz. So I bought some :)
When I buy fractional gold gold coins I tend to buy the 2 rand South Africa coins. They obverse looks like a Krugerrand. And the cheapest gold you can buy.
Great video. I to have found out that it's much cheaper buying non U.S gold . At the end of the day gold is still gold no matter what u buy . I've olny recently starting stacking some sliver rounds . I'm more a coin guy myself.
Hecla Mining mines for silver and gold is the by product of their operations. Just a Bonus!
Did you hear about what the president of Mexico is trying to get passed. No silver to be sold outside of Mexico
Also no more open pit mining for silver
That was in there too thanks@@michaelrhodes6461
Say sayonara to the Libertad’s!
Banco Azteca will sell you 16 Libertads per day, 7 days a week.
great videos love the information. excellent. keep making videos, information will make a not buyer a buyer.
I rarely pay more than spot on common silver and gold bullion. Tons of silver and gold available at spot. Oh yes those 100 ounce toe busters most local coin shops will almost always pay about 90% of spot are a tough resell for a stacker. I have been hacking the Redicioulus markups for a long time. I have purchased about 160k ounces of 925 sterling and have it refined to my specs and always find my cost usually at about 14% below spot consistently.
I've heard many stories of people from the "old country" in Europe often having at least a few gold coins on hand for an emergency, typically wars.
Awesome content as usual 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Prince, now King, was best friends with Jimmy Savile. Queen Elizabeth knighted Savile in 1990. Check out what Savile really was.
Bar tubes! Cool!
I wish the mint would just use the family crest on the reverse of their coins instead of the monarch’s.
i've pushed a 'pause' on precious metals - for the moment - until someone can tell me why Lynette left ITM Trading so quickly, and with no announcement. Something is fishy, and it may be in the precious metals market. more research is needed.
She did say she just left ITM without saying anything else. She has started her own channel and it's great!
I’m working on another interview with Lynette. Done a few with her!
@@farzanahoque2442 i was informed elsewhere, so i will be on the lookout! Thank you.

Hey Yankee maybe a year or 2 ago tim gave advice I wish I listened to. He told us to SELL EVERTHING meaning stuff we wouldn't need or want or collections. I wish that I listened. Not that I'm desperate for the money but he called the top and the sellers market for STUFF is dwindling. He was spot on. Next time I'll be ready to sell. (Not my gold and silver of course)

Hello Yankee and Tim
Hi! 🥇
There are a good bit of mines out there that get silver. A lot of the copper mines are getting silver as well
Treasure hunt @ Tim’s! 🏴☠️
Beautiful gold!
I feel the markup is probably due to collectors like me who pay more for what they want now.
pretty much non stop action the whole episode. made me want to invent a booth that takes silver.
Tim, you are sooo funny! Blessings to you & yours.
Thanks!
Thank you SO MUCH!! 👌🏼
Its bid plus (negative) on almost everything silver and some gold. There is a flood of PMs rushing back to dealers now. The race is on
