Brian is great to do business with . Honest businessman.
I agree with the pocket coins selling, if they are legit and different. I carry one in my pocket now that I stack and don’t realize how many other people who stack metals or collect coins do the same thing, it’s like a secret sign ua stackers have😂
I have both sold & bought with Brian, All feelings aside, He is the best around! I have bought from MANY other dealers around florida & I asked to buy 20 VG or better peace & morgan dollars. I got 10 VG & mix of culls... I went to Brian for 3 peace dollars VG he put 2 VG on the the counter & one slabed BU.
The best dealer around. Made it worth my while even at a small sale, I won't forget that.
Fake coins in holders is discouraging
Aside from the Ring alert going off in the background that makes my dogs go nuts, such a great video. As a newbie that's yet to buy anything, this has quickly become one of my favorite channels
I love the practical down to earth videos with Brian and Speg. It makes me feel good to know that there are sensible people out there. Thanks!
Always interested in what Brian Vermillion has to say. Honest. Informative. No politics, just TCB. Thank you for your time Brian.
I've seen a $1.00 Liberty gold coin made into a stick pin with solder, or worse the face ground off a gold coin to put an fancy initial carved onto it, what a waste, I can't understand that
@@Cougelly1999 1883 Kalakaua coins were made into jewelry after the overthrow of the Hawaiian government. Hat bands, belts, pins. Amazing. Unblemished coins sell for a premium.
@@BillGuyHawaii The folks in Brian's posts always have such interesting comments!
Always a great interview with Brian. Keep bringing these types of videos. I like how much knowledge Brian has .
The Walker with the weird rim was hit by a spoon along the edges to make a ring. Eventually the center will meet up with the rim to make a hollow center. It takes forever.
That's a very cool magnet trick, i never knew silver eagles would give off some sort of magnetic pull
The more you know!
Great information. I started to go and visit Vermillion a couple of days ago, but Zelle updated its app and my phone will not accept the update. Its old. LOL. So I'll be going after a new phone purchase LOL. I really like long format interviews.
Oo i would love to check out those pre 33 golds right meow. Im on the pre 33 frenzy lately
I have some 2.5 dollar and 5 dollar gold and rarer dated mint sovereigns I would sell
Thanks for your expertise and time! Great education.
Glad it was helpful!
Enjoyed thank you very much
Great interview.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 thanks for watching!
Love the straight talk, ty!
Great advice, thank you .
Thanks for watching 😊
That coin with the large bevel has been hammered on. It takes a while but you can eventually get it down to ring size and drill the middle out to make a ring! Did it as a kid back in the ‘80’s
A lot of people did that in the navy in 1960 they would jus keep spinning it and tapping it with a spoon.
Great advice. The best reason is to protect your family from getting ripped off if anything happens to you. I have a lot of beef with the coin imprisonment companies, but you can't deny that in the current coin market, it is a valuable resource.
Sending coins hoping for an MS-68 is silly unless you really can't see a thing wrong with it after extensive examination. Maybe a couple tiny marks in the hair. I hunt brand new mint rolls sometimes for new type coins. Never found a 67 or better. Out of fresh mint rolls, I get one MS-66 for every few hundred coins. Not worth anything but a spot in my set. My standards are tough, so I might have one dime that makes the cut but I wouldn't put money on it.
Great video, very solid takes here.
I want that magnet
THANKS FOR THE INFORMATIVE VIDEO.
love Brian's shop want go thare this week end and buy some things just what I'm looking for thanks for the video
Thanks for watching 😊 Did you make it over there?
yes I did make it thare it was wonderful ill be going back for more of my perches thanks agen
Sounds like you could find some varieties buying from him since they don't really check for them. I'll have to look him up. Thanks, Speg and Mrs. Speg!
Great vid very informative keep up the great job👍
Great Video! Very educational.
I saw a recent pawn video where this "young fellow" was selling a cloth bag full of loose 50 ASE's. He didn't know what they were, other than he wanted to sell them. The pawn shop promptly gave him spot price.
I'd have never guessed Jesse, sound more like a james hahahaha!
🤔
I have some of those Aztec rounds. Now im worried.
I bought a 2023 ASE at the end of last year at my LCS with some other Sovereigns and brought it home, and put it in the safe. A couple of weeks later, I went to put some rounds in these neat xmas ornament capsules, and I noticed the ASE wasn't quite right. I compared it to last year's and it was a giant red flag. Stuck it on the scale and it was over by a gram or so.
Long story short I headed down to my LCS for my weekly visit and told the owner about it and he was so upset it made it to the case, apologized, and swapped it for me and gave me a deal on a few other Sovereigns NO QUESTIONS ASKED! Support your LCS! They're looking out for you, usually have better prices, and if something like what happened to me happens to you; you're not stuck with some support person in a call center in India! I'm very greatful to my LCS. I'm on a first name basis with the owner, walk out feeling like I got a fair deal and you get to know the people, support them and your community.
BTW The missing Reed (to prevent counterfeiting 😂) was in the same spot!
A caliper for diameter is a excellent testing tool all metals have different densities so diameter will be diffrent if metals are off .
How about the prices of the barber halves and barber quarters?
Hey the distorted silver dollar is from someone trying to tap it into a ring. My dad makes them.
Hate to be a nitpicker but as an educating numismatist you should cover all possibilities in your assessments. It is possible that a silver planchet might mistakenly be used at the mint regarding the young lady with the differing scale reading on her half dollar. She might have just discovered a new error. Likewise with the supposed nonexistent CC Morgan. Could have been the find of a lifetime. So further examination in both cases is called for not just a cursory dismissal imho. Love your channel you and the Coin Guy are a motherlode of great information.
Lol😂 Scarecrow Dance 🕺🏽 🎉
Love the channel. But why melt the bars? For example, those pamp bars are hard to find.
Speg, why didn't you ask Brian why he is sending the proof half dollars to the smelter? They have the same amount of silver as a reg 90% , but look so much better. I personally stack exclusively proof 90%. (Well almost exclusively 😊)
I believe it's called a jet sort the thing that separates and counts coins
Scarecrow dance! 😂
Isnt that walker a dryer/washing machine coin? Gets stuck between the drum and inside of the machine and just rolls around and gets "pressed"..
Yes, that's exactly what that is! We have a customer at our shop who is building type set of washing machine coins
I recommend a PMV PRO 😊
Why do some bullion dealers sell the gold bars to the smelters so they can melted down? They've already been smelted and are usually .999 fine so why do it all over again?
Instant exchange of money to money
I think Brian is sneaking a Core Hydration sponsorship in your videos! 😂
He always does seem to be hydrating!
It was the spirit of Scrooge McDuck trying to steal a fake silver round! 😱
i see my man pushing the hobby
Brian needs his own microphone. There is an echo when he talks
That’s his natural sound. He echos naturally..
wow those barbers are awesome me want a 2.50 old us au cheaper
I am looking to buy foreign coins but the pound. My one source is charging me $2.50 per pound. What can you do ?
That walker was stuck in a washing machine!!
Had to look up wander franco, OUCH thats not good at all...and the victims mom should be in jail...
Id be curious how much a magnet like that costs and where to get one.
Same!
One reason that I don’t buy graded coins or the associated hype. 1oz Gold is all I’m after.
Did he say he was just gonna melt down silver proof coins
Why melt proof silver Kennedy half dollars?
NFT's..... somehow NO comes to mind....a quickly!
This is great a double dose
For members!
I would never do baseball ever again.
it's constitutional, not junk... 🥈
Brian sure is thirsty or that CORE HYDRATION contract sure is paying up
That’s a dude that will only buy spot.
Franco is awesome. Who cares who he hooks up with.
A child… sick
