    Great interview. Our SASR Operators are World Class, as are our Commandos. I had the privilege of serving in the 1st CDO Regt many years ago. It was really an honor serving with some of the best people I've ever met. All outstanding people, resilient, with adventure in their hearts. The one thing that defines any SF Operator is mental toughness and a sense of humor in dire circumstances. Mark is a perfect example of the kind of person SF attracts.

    To the Australian people you have a lot to be proud of for the men and women of the ADF. Your SAS troops, Commandos, and "Diggers" are professional Soldiers.

    I was in New Zealand for a month and then Australia for a few weeks in October/November 2001. The differences between the Kiwis and Australians was like night and day. My disdain and disgust toward the Kiwis to this day stems from their attitudes about it - making fun of it, not selling me handicrafts at an artisan market because I was American, etc. The Australians were supportive, showing how much they felt for the USA, a feeling of brotherhood.

The 2nd was on the Mekong Delta with the Riverine Assault force ‘66-‘67 (PBR’s armed river boats). Told stories about working with the Aussie’s and the ROK-Korean forces. @@SALUTE-INT-S the news coverage of what's going on in your part of the world with China seems to be big news for what I have seen of Australian news channels on youtube, compared to what we have heard on national news in Gt Britain. Its very strange over here because it is hardly mentioned (not like it should be anyway) yet it seems massive news over there, and seems very important and a very dangerous situation. I can't understand why we seem to be brushing it under the carpet as if it isn't happening. I am not saying we don't hear nothing about it, but it doesn't seem to be priority news, or taken very seriously.

    • @spilot1016
      @spilot1016 3 роки тому +7

      @@chanang453 I'm a US Army Ranger. Our selection has been rated by both SF and SEAL guys as actually more mental than theirs (mainly due to the lack of sleep and food). I don't know much about GROM, hence why I haven't mentioned it. The PJ's training is very technical but isn't anywhere as near of the same pace as in the video above. Apples and oranges. Russian Spetsnaz is generally much lower in the food chain. It has countless branches that are more specialized and elite... think Alpha Group or GRU. Those boys are more up-to-speed. But if you're talking top of the spear... it would be DELTA and the SAS (on which it was based on). But as for my initial statement, I stand by what I've said about the Aussie SAS - mental (I didn't say the best - big difference).

    Thanks for the way you covered this. On other people’s coverage of Ukraine I have seen the speech becoming so vile that I no longer fund or watch them.

      Probably because of the abc Bull shit story and hyped up media garbage about war crimes in Afghanistan.
      Next war the government should just send mother Theresa and boy scouts over if they don't want anyone shot.
      War crimes on an industrial scale will be committed now the Taliban are back in control.

    Isn't there an investigation against this organisation for war crimes in Afghanistan? Is this guy from the same group?

    These heroic stories are very sad, what were you doing there in the first place. We got our butts kicked despite all these tough manly stories. Did not have enough brains to retreat properly.
