This is such a lovely format. Congratulations. It's very rare to be allowed such a personal insight into the people behind a company. The informality coupled with the specificity only possible when listening to the people actually invested and involved in driving the project is a pleasure to watch and listen to. Do make ita tradition. .... and please do more of the comparative videos such as the one with the Solo Violin.
I'm so excited to hear about the Synchron Smart Orchestra update!!!! Literally the best sketching tool in the world already and yet, always stays in the composition after sketching since it sounds so good. Can't wait for the new articulations for the solo instruments and the sound design extra content added into it.
It's official! A helpful tradition - thank you for giving customers provisional insight into the direction of VSL. It's helpful to people who aren't billionaires (almost all your customers!) to have some insight into your plans.
Sounds like some great plans. I'd vote for having the new Steinway piano library be an older, warmer-sounding interesting. We have a lot of bright options, currently.
I'm so excited about the studio Steinway! I wish I could hear samples from both, but if the older one is selected, I hope it won't be another "character" instrument. I feel like Stage B already has a lot of unique-character pianos, with the latest F212 being a great example. Thanks for listening, VSL. I promised you money, and as long as the piano lives up to standards, I'm fully planning to part with it. :)
Quite a few years ago, in a studio in London, I was involved in a recording session for a piano effects collection. This was to be primarily for horror music, and we ended up with just the carcass of the piano because it was basically going to be destroyed in the studio! We were dropping heavy things on it, bowling balls, hitting it with metal, bouncing rubber balls off it, scraping, plucking, it was an amazing session. I tried an E-bow on it, and it kind of worked but not very well. The best things are where the sustain pedal is held down, and the wood of the piano is hit at varying velocities. My worry is that with such an expensive collection of pianos, you might not go far enough! Maybe consider getting one in that is beyond repair, you can destroy it and record the process.
Great news about the solo viola and second violin. Hopefully this will have a different soundID so that Sibelius doesn't put it on the same channel as the first violin. This would be a good moment to revisit the documentation for Sibelius users of the latest string library and make a clearer set of instructions for triggering articulations in a way that parallels the Synchron tree. VSL should supply a test score which when played will automatically trigger all available articulations in sequence with the 'tree' so that this can be seen and with the playback terms typed in (and in the Performance dictionary). This would save the user much time and frustration.
already saving money for the stage b steinway, i love the idea, i wish you would add some new features like the sampled una corda, sympathetic and sustain resonances silent key velocity and all thanks❤😅
does anyone know if the syncron version of the ported vienna imperial will be fee of cost/reduced/the same cost for owners of the old version of the Vienna Imperial?
Great news, it seems you are planning to release everything I have wanted for the Synchron series. If you ever make muted trombones, it will be perfect.
Flow Mode is a simplified interface we have integrated with our Synchron Prime Edition and the Duality Strings Essential. Here's a podcast with project coordinator Lukas Csaszar: ua-cam.com/video/7D1cnyTiIZ8/v-deo.html - Paul
I've always been a big fan of the original Jazz Drums. Those samples, along with the wealth of articulations, are unparalleled still. But there was always one thing that has kept me from using them more, and that's the fact that since they're hosted in VI Pro, they're not really designed in a way to be used like drum libraries typically are - using the DAWs drum track, having a drum-centric player and options, globally adjusting direct and room levels, etc. So I really hope that whatever the VSL folks are doing, they've looked at contemporary drum library workflow and have ways of addressing this.
A badly needed addition to the Synchron pianos lineup: a Bechstein grand or a Concert series upright. It could be the endgame piano vst for Classical repertoire.
While I have enjoyed the benefits of your excellent strings samples over the years, I have always thought that it would be great if VSL collaborated with Roland or Korg or Yamaha etc...etc.. to create a simple hardware keyboard that uses the VSL basic configuration as presets. A keyboard could be created, like the legendary Roland JD-800, with all the sliders, knobs and other hardware controls to add nuance to each preset in real time. While most people seem to prefer mixing in the box, companies such as TASCAM (and all the major synth manufacturers) have made it palin there is still a market for real keboards and out of the box mixing opportunites. I think VSL could increase their revenues this way. But, what do I know!
Hard wait and so bad no subtitles my understanding talked english is very limited and this is not so short video. but marked locations based on it there is hope we get something what i still miss. but if all go well i know what i add next my virtual orchestra.(better vibraphone, solo violin and solo cello). but adding vibraphone adds also something else but i dont remember what but i know VSL knows what.
If duality had also bends of some sort it would really be complete. Glissandi are close but not exactly the same. Please think about it. My fav library of all time this would make it 110%
No, that's definitely not true. That can't be true. They probably just forgot that there is a contraguitar coming. Who else could do a ""Schrammelgitarre" if not VSL, located in the city of the Schrammelgitarre. I'm right, ha? Please tell me that I'm right 🙂
So excited for the rest of solo strings
Hi, danke für die vielen tollen Instrumente, Herr Tucmandl! Besonders die Pianos haben es mir angetan, höchste Perfektion im F308. Weiter so!
These Traditions I Like ;^) I am looking forward to another amazing year with VSL!

Really excited to hear that you guys decided to have your own take on fx pianos, looking forward to it

Wow, what a year it will be! I'm so excited by the new Solo Strings, Brass and Woodwinds. Thanks for this video! You're such a great company!

Contrabass clarinet, very cool :)
So much good news here.

I can't wait for the synchron cornet, euphonium, and Eb clarinet!
Is there any chance of doing synchron saxophones in the coming years?

No Synchron choir 😢
You guys are great.
Maybe someday.
Maybe in 2026. But the new releases of 2025 are very exciting.

Hi, I don't think that the price policy has been decided yet.

It's just my opinion. I think you must have orchestration engine like Sonuscore Orchestra or EW Opus orchestrator. It's future. Thank you!
Great news, it seems you are planning to release everything I have wanted for the Synchron series. If you ever make muted trombones, it will be perfect.
Solo viola!! Finally!! Great! But.....can we hope about sordino patches for Synchron Strings Pro, in the future? 😊😊😊
Great news so far! Btw. are there any informations if and when the Duality Strings libraries will be available in compressed format?
no Musette oboe in Eb? Do it please.
It will be great that MIR have a Dolby Certified room that can handle full Dolby Atmos 7.1.2
I recently got VSL and haven't really used it. What exactly is Flow Mode?

Das sind ja schöne Aussichten 🙂
we can really use an older steinway d, something like synthogy ivory 2 American D
by Vienna❤

If it's a pizzicato Bass it's useful as a solo Bass.

I also have been thinking about a VSL Bechstein Grand.

wann kommt das Alphorn???
Asking the real questions :)
Still waiting for a Jazz-bigband...

Yamaha CP 70/80
woo hoo! Brass mutes!!!! 2025 here we come!

So primitive ! 🙂When will you have AI able to interpret a MIDI score with human-like ensemble playing of your samples?
