"The most human Anime" is what I would describe everything in Gintama. Every single character is incredibly humane. It's like everyone we see could very much be like a real person that we could meet IRL(without the mad sword skills of course)

Gintoki vs Takasugi was a true fight between swordsmen. No tricks. No techniques. No powers.
Just two men, driven to kill each other, no matter what they had to do.
It was like a combination of a street fight and swordsmanship.
When their blades shattered they picked up the shards and stabbed each other with them.
They even threw sand and dirt into each other's eyes to block their vision and even resorted to a straight up fist fight once their blades were completely useless.
Sorachi is a genius or he just too lazy to think any kind of power system.

like all gintama fights you can feel the struggle from both sides
for me its not that they wanted to kill each other, its that they were fighting their alter egos. Gintoki and Takasugi is each others alter egos, but thats just what I think
This is actually the best, in my opinion the best battles are always when both have their life on line, a lot of time on shonen you just know MC is going to win so there is no emotion but dude figths like this of pure men raw its the best just two man with diferent convictions facing on a fight using everything they have at hand, no rules or weird powers just skill and desire to kill each other

One piece, bleach, Naruto and HxH are legendary,but the sheer quality,the comedy genius,the unexpected emotional moments,the op/ed,the characters, fight scenes that gintama showcased were on another level consistently for a long period of time... Still saddened by the end of this anime/manga.

@sakata gintoki it's not the end it's just getting start.. They will continue the anime 2019...they got many complain from the fans why they end the anime when things not even settle yet... So gori Sensei just trolling us and they take responsibility by continue the anime until all the mystery n questions answer..btw in 2019 they not on jump anime anymore..

A Simple line that is very meaningful
This is my favourite ending from Gintama.
It conveys the mood of this arc very well and in general the relationship between Gintoki and Takasugi was very well done and at the end of the anime you understand it even more and understand the characters and even more. With this, Gintama simply takes it better than many old or even modern titles, this anime will forever be in my heart!
They had this planned all the way from Benizakura Arc, when Katsura says "He has more reason than any of us to destroy this world"
That's almost 200 episodes before everything.
This is how you do a proper build up to one single fight, and beautifully pull it off

This AMV and the song is truly magnificient.
At 2:42 The lyrics says "If it's you, You'll be able to change this world" and Takasugi says the same thing to Gintoki multiple times, At one time it was maybe like this : "Either if we destroy or save the world, Only we can do it"
I remember that time when the Joui 3 gathered and Takasugi wanted to save sensei while Katsurs wanted to destroy him and Gintoki said that if one of them failed to do it, then he'd just simply do the opposite. I was so fucking touced. Friendship is power.

This arc was a 10/10,period. The fight between Gin and Takasugi, their past revealed, Kagura vs Kamui, Kamui vs Sougo...It had it all

Say whatever you want but you can't deny the fact that hattori zenzou ruled the first half of this arc
This anime has done something no other has, create a world full of people and focus on all of them so that when and arc such as Shogun Assasination and Farewell Shinsengumi* (sorry if it's not accurate spelled) happens, it's better not only beacuse it's "good" but also because we can worry about them and what they feel. It's like seeing a bunch of friends having a problem when you can't go and help.
Also, i love the detail that Shinpachi also uses a wooden sword but (i hope i'm not wrong) never said something like "from now on i'll use a wooden sword because that's how i can show my respect for Gintoki", he just uses it because is his way show how much Gintoki has affected to him and how he sees it as a model to follow.

Having rewatched this whole anime and this arc I know for sure there will be no place in my heart for another anime like Gintama. It goes against all odds, there is no anime monologue and ranting, it's just what it it is. They are all so very broken, like all of us, and yet they move on with dignity - so rare these days. Deep down it's not a funny anime, not really. I can't get those people who find it boring. It's been my comfort zone for years now and I'm so very grateful to the creators and to you, people, who appreciate this masterpiece.

Everyone who says Chimera Ant from HxH is the best shounen arc clearly hasn't seen any Gintama. it's not even close how much better the arcs are. This arc is a masterpiece, 11/10
having seen both, i think Chimera Ant is very slightly better than Shogun Assassination but SA + FS (Farewell Shinsengumi) + Rakuyo + Silver Soul is better than Chimera Ant
hxh as whole is a way better show imo.

@@DaPixelPenguin Story arcs are way better in hxh than it's in gintama. in fact, hxh is more story-oriented and that the story is well written characters have more depth than any other shounen I've seen and character development is not stationary. in gintama, the setting is rather interesting but kinda of silly which fits the theme of the show which is more focused on comedy and you only cared about arcs because it introduces new characters which means fillers (or rather the most lovable part about gintama) could be funnier because of how different these characters would react. I don't think the wheel of series progress started moving until the death of shiegeshiege (the shogun) then it started showing mildly interesting villians like utsuru which then rather made the show get as boring as it could get ever, don't get me wrong the story is way better than your average 12 ep- no continuation anime but it certainly isn't as well-written as hxh. but I wouldn't recommend it for the story, certainly the characters are lovable . actually, I love the chars in gintama more than hxh chars (because certainly you could relate to their silliness at one point or another) I would recommend it for it's comedy over it's story (which isn't bad by any means) for a more serious setting hxh is kinda superior but when it comes to comedy I don't think I've ever laughed at an anime as much as gintama

I got chills and cried, reliving every last moment of this goddamn amazing arc :') The lyrics are so perfect to describe everything Gin stands for, how he protects everyone he meets, even those he's fallen on bad terms with, like Takasugi
After watching The Final, I ended up going back to slowly rewatch the entire anime again, and I was reminded just how NICE Gin is. Like, he keeps meddling with everyone's business because he gives so much of a damn about everyone's business, whether he claims to or not.

I have a rule for when I am watching animes, until I am up to date with it I do not watch amvs, or if I am going to watch an amv I try to find one that is about a certain arc or a fight. Looking at the date the amv was created also helps, but even the tumbnails spoil so better not watch amvs at all if you are not up to date.

Katsura on standby was the biggest disappointment for me, and the exact reason why I like Farewell Shingengumi more than SA.

Sorachi could've probably given him some sort of resolve and write the story from there. Plus with all the rebellion and gintokis backstory, it just makes sense for him to be there. (Sorry for bad English)
@@kartikkumar8470 This is not the only time Zura's been on stand by for a serious arc. There is a reason why Sorachi doesn't overuse certain characters. Although he made the stand by thing a running gag for Zura but think about it, if he were physically present in the SA arc then things might have gone down differently. After all this is Zura we're talking about. Maybe Sorachi thought of an alternate storyline with Zura in it which he didn't like. Because the main purpose of the SA arc was to setup Gintoki vs Takasugi duel. If Zura acted like a good guy there then it would've been Gintoki & Zura vs Takasugi. Same as the benizakura arc. I hope you get the point.

Wonderful editing and synchronization! I once did amv for my fav anime so I kinda understand how much time and effort needed to find the suitable scenes and place them at the perfect timing. Few seconds of the video might take hours to make it perfect. Good job there! :D
Thanks! I personally don't find it too much work to synchonize. Once you get the hang of it, it can be done pretty fast. I find it harder to find the right scenes to use!
