he's at the start of all hordes to see if you're able to clear or not, if you do not die and deal enough damage you're most likely going to be able to clear this tier of infernal horde, if you instantly die it means that you're probably not ready, it's just some kind of verification to finish the horde.
Hardcore mode misses one feature from d2 , your friend should be able to loot your corpse..instead they get the items, they should be transfered to your stash...this would increase party play a lot, and also would help a little bit against these unbalanced monsters

funny, respec from rapid to barrage is like the easiest thing to do -- just change a few skills, scoundrels kiss to ring with aspect, and switch one other aspect on gear. same paragon. but oh well.

Not making excuses. They make the builds before release. Always good following the guide but check out what the no lifers have tweaked in a week. Sorc lighting spear build on the guide looks more like starter end game compared to real end game atm on Maxroll.

doesnt matter, you still have the option to go back and play the character you dont just lose it forever because of retarded 1shot game mechanics and because game devs are retarded random disconnects for no reason whatsoever still happen after 1+ year in release, random bugs still happen, and so on and so on. Game devs dont give a single fuck about hardcore players, thats why its never gonna be worth it to play that way. And yes, I'm a hardcore ssf player, but this game forces me to play softcore.
The desecrator’s fireballs, if hit by all three it’s almost always a one shot. My druid can just barely tank them if I use earthen bulwark before all three hit but…
What the hell is a sponge enemy, and I'm sure whatever you think they are, they have existed for far longer than that. What's the point of playing any ARPG? Building new characters, trying new builds, killing monsters, and finding / improving gear. Season 5 is just the culmination of a year of D4 prior to the expansion. It has come a long way and it is in a very solid spot right now.

You should be able to play different builds since release and most of them felt bad. Every season had a rotation where some builds ended in the trash an others grew insanely high. Nothing has changed so far. the pit goes to 200, tell me the sponge boss will die this season? took me 3 days for 1 character and i had no fun. I tried it, didnt felt good and im gone. Enjoy.
