It's been a long road but finally it's time to hunt the Final Boss of MHGU Ahtal-Ka. This is my first experience with this hunt and it was nuts. Yes this series will continue.

This is one of my most favorite monsters, I like what the devs did, instead of making a really hard super boss, they made a monster that is really fun to fight
that is what game supposed to be like...unlike mhfu mhp3rd dual tigrex rajang alarereon and jho gave me sleepless nights =(

When I first saw Ahtal Ka, I knew she'd be one of my favourite Monsters off design alone.
When I battled Ahtal Ka, the creativity of the fight would take her to top 5.
Then she deployed the Mech and I knew I'd found my new favourite Monster.
I love this boss so much. It’s so creative while still being believable to a certain extent as even insects in real life are more intelligent and dexterous than we could have imagined.
Also, while it’s not a terribly difficult boss, it’s most dangerous in the last phase with that damn wheel that can still catch you off guard from time to time! Speaking of which, it’s too bad that it didn’t do a certain move with the wheel… I wanted to see I your reaction to that move. XD
Oh, also Ahtal-Ka is female. She turns super saiyan gold by feeding on the males. LOTS of them…

Her full armour set is a great "'cookie cutter" set. Its skills boost Decorations and Talismans you put in and has lots of slots. A full set will double the skills on your Talisman and add +2 points to every single skill you slot in. Get a good enough Talisman, and you'll be able to make some powerful cookie cutter builds until you can reliably create meta sets like Jho-Ceana.
She's also just got easier armour to upgrade comparatively speaking since she's not too difficult of a Monster AND you get some very good defense from it compared to a few meta sets.

I have this game for a long while and have never fought that thing yet. Mostly cause the multiplayer hub stuff alone is rough by myself. What a fun fight!
Easy Beat the game solo mode all the way through g4 my biggest wall is nakarkos in g4

@@Lator_the_Gator in his defence i didnt really have a monster wall me until G4. Not to say the rest of the game before G4 is easy but i never hit a wall until G4
Just to note, Her Armor is basically Fatalis before Fatalis. Its insanely good, and so are her Weapons.
LS is probably not as good as Rustrazor, but Top 5, easily.
And it looks good.
That was by far one of the funnest fights ive ever done in monster hunter. Loved every bit of the fight.

it was also great how you managed to figure out all of the different mechanics, like the defense down pheromones and climbing up it's legs. always nice to see hunters progress

Been playing since 4 ultimate on the 3ds and Ahtal-Ka is still my favorite monster, hands-down. It's an allegory for ourselves, the hunters! Unassuming, small, weak in appearance to it's predator. Over time, becomes an insurmountable obstacle, stronger than you first thought; on its death throws? Stronger and more perseverant than you thought possible! Uses weapons/gear from hunts past, just like us! It's like fighting a mirror image of yourself, the devs made this monster as an homage to us and I LOVE that shit
It even uses dragonators against us, ffs
She's more of a fun fight rather than a difficult one, which I can appreciate it.
Although I will say that I have a tiny gripe with it and that's having a gunner on your team completely trivializes the mech phase of the fight since a gunner can just Pierce snipe her eggs and allow the knockdown almost immediately.
Also in case you were wondering, Ahtal-Ka isn't an Elder Dragon.
I can only imagine a speed run of a gunner weapon going through this.
The HBGs and LBGs in this game are broken in fact

A broken mechanic is one that is too powerful
Just like "overpowered", the slang term means "powerful" while the dictionary term means "unable to function"
Also want to make note that you do want to mind the legs when you can because they do drop enduring charms so it's a good place to do charm hunts
You can of course sell the golden eggs and stuff which is pretty useful as well. I honestly love this armor set as it's very customizable but there's a video out there explaining how exactly you exploited to get things that you need
I honestly wish there are more monsters that creates a monster out of man made materials it’s so cool and creative

This by far one of the best if not the best GU episode so far. Such a fun and engaging fight, also we need more monsters with ahtal ka's mechanic or similar
This has got to be my favorite online final boss in MH, not counting DLC [Fatalis]
My second favorite final boss being Gogmazios
I made a Pool for that, and many Player feel that way. Mantis first, Tar Dragon second.
Athal-Ka armor is really cool since its skills both make all skills get +2 (meaning you only need 8 points in a skill to get it)
And the other skill doubles all skills on Talismans
And the armor itself has a ton of slots
And the weapons are great
this was such a fun fight to get to and defeat.

When you knock down her mech the first time, there is a shiny drop with a 25% chance for a true armor sphere. When your knock it down a final time, there's 3, so mathematically, you should be guaranteed at least one true armor sphere.
As someone who also soloed MHGU (albeit on the 3DS), I commend you sir on this great achievement, nice video

Hehe. Seeing this boss again made me smile so much, this guy may not be the most powerful of monsters but damn; she is certainly one of the most memorable..

Ah yes. My favorite end-game monster of the series. And it's such a fun fight tat I didn't even mind grinding it to get a ton of its weapons.
EDIT: Saw the end. Yeah man, soooo much more to hunt haha. This game's content is insane.
It’s crazy to think that Ahtal-ka is one of, in not the most powerful non-elder dragon monster.
Hey Uno, hope you had a gr8 holiday and Black Friday. Trying to catch up on ur vids since I had a long and busy week and your content always helps. Will say that I see why ppl enjoyed this fight so much because it is amazing and glad I get to see ur experience through it for the first time and of course the music and reactions are always on point. Plus you attacking the wheel part I was like wow what is he doing haha when he can simply goo around it haha.
Shhhh lol and it was pretty chill and boring holiday....day. Which is better than crazy and nuts.
Its fun farming her, I wish they put her in sunbreak simply because her fully skill customizable set.

You know I have 600 hours+ playing GU and this the first time I see Ahtal Ka tired out of her mecha. Also a pro advice: Don't even think to try Raging Brachydios, Furious Rajang, Chaotic Magala (that one you saw looking different from regular Gore Magala) and specially Savage Deviljho if you don't want to lose your sanity yet. I mean for me only Savage Jho is the menace.

In my experience, first/solo kill times for final bosses are roughly:
Dire Miralis < Nakarkos < Allmother < Xeno'jiiva < Ahtal-Ka < Dalamadur < Gogmazios
Wow, MH4U really made you work for it.
Specifics:
Dire Miralis: 30m, Lance OP plz nerf
Nakarkos: failed as prowler first attempts, but 30m as hunter
Allmother: 30-35m
Xeno'jiiva: 35m quest time, but 50m real time (PC slowdown / don't ask)
Ahtal-Ka: 35m Prowler mode (first kill second try), 30m as hunter
Dalamadur: 40m, first kill, second try
Gogmazios: 48m30s first kill, many tries, will never forget

You got Xeno at 35 Minutes?
I don't wanna brag, but I got her in maybe 27, and 17 after understanding the Fight.
Dire is at around 28, but I have a good Charm, Attack +9.
Didn't even tried Gog and Dala whitout honed Endgamegear.
Both died at around the 35 Min mark, but I couldn't have made it whitout OP Gear, and good Understanding of the Hunt.
Subquests are great. 👍
Funnily, Shara first Try was way faster then most of my later Runs.
Oh Nakarkos is at around 25, but also whit Training.
@Elliepopcorn Multiplayer, I was refering to my Solokills.
Gog dies around the Time Dala does, if you have a good Tactic. I found out, its usually better to aim for Quantity over quality, save Hitzones, over good ones.
He also falls if you flinch his Wingarms twice, or while hes beaming.
Multiplayer Monster are not scaled for 4 Player, btw.
They take 15% less Damage, and have around 20-30% more health. Thats two Player Scaling.
HR Deviljho goes from 6600 to 8800.

Im better state some Numbers.
If I solo Kulve it takes 15 Minutes, in a 4 Player Group it takes 15 Minutes.
Teostra maybe 11.
Kushala in Single maybe 16, in Multi around 20.
If we look at the Stat increase, 4 Player scaling had around 120% more HP.
Its true what Quests end much faster now, but mostly cause of weird Balancing.
How I see Multiplayer Gen 5 vs Past.
Old Multiplayer is suppose to be easy in a Group.
Alone you might have a harder Time, two Player are quiet equal, and three and four are Easymode.
World and Rise just balancing out so everything is equaly easy whit any Number of People.
@Elliepopcorn Depends on the Monster. Most G-Rank Monster take about 20 Minutes solo. And if you ment Kulve, well I eighter had bad Groups, or im just to good cause I farmed her for everything minus one Hammer and one CB.
Your certainly right, the Multiplayerscaling in older Games is just a bit overhyped. They not as bulky as some say.

ahtal-ka is truly my favourite monster; she's the only one that fights us on our level. as a neopteron she's squishy, so she constructs weapons and armour out of the materials she scavenges from her hunts. when fighting us she tries a bunch of different strategies, including laying traps for us, like she's going in blind to a new hunt

Fatalis is also fun if you will go solo.. been fighting him every weekend he is really tough.. Her armor can be disgustingly good and her weapons are great too. Def worth grinding. Multiplayer stream??? Hehehe. Also you can get charms and other goodies by picking up shinies and also by mining the big boi’s feet and throat when it gets knocked down.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR GU:
All Ahtal ka equipment (and I mean EVERYTHING) is the best of the best no questions's asked. Get her LS, her full armor, and that's it, don't use anything else and you probably win the game already.
Actually JhoCena is technically the best for a raw build like LS. Alka is more for creative builds

I forgot to to say 3ds emulator on mobile... I have been hunting hyper monsters all evening with my kids until there mom comes home... we've been each using Arial dual blade with poison paralysis and sleep each taking turns to bomb a monsters face when there stunned or asleep...
is the Insect an Elder Dragon? Or just a Really Strong Bug Wyvern?
I'm going to say it's about as strong as Elder Dragon level. Mostly because it can't be trapped.
he/she (Athal-ka) is a Neopteron spec, he only bug but with high Iq... u can see how he made a fort and used dragonator as weapon..
