Ján Chovanec euthanasia can be used on different ways depending on the law. In this case then, euthanasia, at least in my opinion, would be favourable because, 1, it ends her suffering, 2, it lifts the burden off of Nanachi, and 3, it allows Miltty's soul to be free and move on to whatever souls in MiA do.

This episode seems to me to be a metaphor for the 5 stages of grief. But, rather than the character already being dead, the process of grieving begins when the Nanachi's body is transformed *physically*, into something completely inhuman (much like a human going from a physical form to a spiritual one -- if you're into that type of thinking). So therefore, that *version* of Mitty is dead. The grieving starts at this point by Nanachi, even though her (now disfigured) friend is still alive. The last stage of grief is: "Acceptance"; Mitty's death was in reach, and able to be carried out with little-to-no suffering in a matter of seconds. It would not fail, nor cause suffering, as all the others had. Nanachi felt relief, knowing that soon her friend would no longer be suffering in agony 24/7. (It doesn't make it any easier to say that when someone close to you dies, but it is a somewhat comforting thought once you get further into the process of grieving). Mitty was in unendurable agony; still, Nanachi having to end the life of her best friend hurt very badly. But though that pain and loss was there, Nanachi had completed the grieving process of losing her best friend's human form and could, from that point forward, start to begin the process of healing.
Happy endings are all right when they make sense within the narrative. Forced or asspuller happy endings are just the worst, they're even worse than "evil always wins" endings of many horror movies (like, it makes no sense within the story for Freddie Kruger to not have been defeated in the end of Nightmare on Elm Street, and the movie's final sequence was just made for a cheap last jumpscare for the audience, but it's still preferable to forced happy endings).

Plus, it doesn't matter, as Mitty is trapped inside that narehate body and deprived of all senses (even, in a paradox, the pain supposed to be inflicted to her). that was quite crushing when that girl creature got turned into that blob. The kid gave her a mercy killing. I wonder if they will get revenge on those who did that to her someway.
Pain and legacy is actually a theme is repeated many times in this story. Spoilers! The Irumyi village arc is already ending, but the basic learning about everything in the village is the concept of accumulated value(that is, the amount of experience, people and factors leading to delvers overcome the Abyss) manifest in diferent forms, gaining tools, companions, even your own effords contribuite to someone become "Beyond Human" without necessarily becoming inhuman. Even those who have fallen in the journey to the abyss may give value to others throught the loot they can give, be tools or information. In that way, those who fall also give their own "value" to the value of others. And this happens at the last chapters of the manga, with Belaf giving his memories to Nanachi and Faputa at the cost of his life, Or Wakuzyan manipulation of the events to free Faputa from her duty so she can be free to adventure throught the Abyss for her own, as he sees her as the result of his own journey, even if he couldn't predict her birth at first, as well telling Riko his insight on everything that happened, knowing that he may have to risk his life and die in the chaos of Faputa's rampage. All of these characters have suffered, went throught the worst and probably wished they never done the journey to the Abyss, but even so leaving a legacy to others(Their own value to others to accumulate) is the last redemption they can have.
I find it weird that the story will be continuing in movie format. Although there IS a precedent in anime (Evangelion), it is usually reserved for finales. I'm under the impression that there is much more content from the original source to cover. I need reassurance that after the recap compilation movies and the actual movie "sequel" is over and done, that we'll get more content in episodic format. How did the anime do in Japan?
Major manga spoiler ahead you've been warned Although we saw the mitty nananchi saved and rescused aka "original" mitty we then see mitty recreated from the body and from the soul it's just so damn heart breaking that even though it's a copy, but a pure copy from the soul mitty can never be relived of this suffering

Or if you know a guy who knows a guy whos got more info.... I'm hooked and feel incomplete without seeing the movie and next coming episodes. Help me.
A wonderfully disgusting and depressing show. The scenery is amazing and the story is so in depth; I really love getting that gut-wrenching feeling at seeing disturbing things. I had to take a breather on some scenes because of how messed up it got at times. I'm just upset over how the children are sexualized in it. It is common for this to take place in animes I guess, but I've never seen it to this extent.
went into this godforsaken anime with the transformation scene. the fact that such horrors as that, its not just the physical horror, no, but the mental strain that puts on me from just seeing that, makes me lose hope. the sheer pain as I watched it... I just expected something sad or some other run of the mill anime. and im a person who has seen death, faced it without crying, taken it in stride. ive held those ive lost in my arms. I was shot holding my dead cat that died during a robbery and an attempt was made on my life and I refused to cry. this made me break. do not watch this because even the strong umong us can break. its fucked up
and though im am neither sad nor suicidal, all I yearn for is the afterlife and to experience, but even though I would gladly throw myself into any situation this one is designed to break you
yet.... there was an element behind it that made you continue, made you press on and keep watching. so with that I guess its obviously your choice... but ill leave you with a warning.
Just worried that they would keep experimenting on children like nanachi and maybe make more creatures like nanachi and make them explore the abyss for them

@@desgildanphi8825 I have no idea what you are talking about, Mitty is 100% definetly gone, by all accounts and purposes
@@luizbiel2317 ok spoiler if u haven't watch the manga
They bring her back to life dude
Desgil Danphi ffs stfu neeerd
"that person will never come back"... yeah...
Amazing review. Thanks man.
Welcome to another anime where you start hopping for a fun trip and end up crying for a whole week
IM NOT CRYING YOU ARE!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Plot twist, mitty was actually blown away by the explosion, not actually dying and suffering even more, now on her own. lol
Don't worry, "he" is taking care of her.
GIVE US SEASON 2
I just saw this and already I'm tearing up a bit. :'(
I just cry.
I love Nanachi
Season 2 is coming
I find it weird that the story will be continuing in movie format. Although there IS a precedent in anime (Evangelion), it is usually reserved for finales. I'm under the impression that there is much more content from the original source to cover. I need reassurance that after the recap compilation movies and the actual movie "sequel" is over and done, that we'll get more content in episodic format. How did the anime do in Japan?
This show is just perfect
That's sad I tried not to cry but it made me cry alot
4:51 I almost cried again at that part (ok maybe I did a bit)
I love made in abyss it’s the best anime I’ve ever seen better than galaxy express 999
Reg had the orbed piercer by the balls. He firmly grasped its weak spot. Shot it at point blank range, and he fucking missed. How the fuck?
Rest in peace Mitty. 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭
masterpiece
personal opinion mitty is adorable
Anime: looks childish
*mr blue sky intensifys*
Major manga spoiler ahead you've been warned
Although we saw the mitty nananchi saved and rescused aka "original" mitty we then see mitty recreated from the body and from the soul it's just so damn heart breaking that even though it's a copy, but a pure copy from the soul mitty can never be relived of this suffering
i want a season 2!!!
I reject my humanity, nanachi!
1:49 me at the bois playin obby on a private sever at 2 am looking for beans
Dude, I know I am a little late seeing the series, just a month ago, and also missing the ONLY 2 days of the Journey's Dawn feature length movie in american theaters, so do you have info about how to find it, or even the next planned season?
Or if you know a guy who knows a guy whos got more info.... I'm hooked and feel incomplete without seeing the movie and next coming episodes.
Help me.
This is one of the saddest anime shows i ever seen 😥😭😭😭
You know what would be a real dick move by the made in abyss crew? if nanachi would actually find a cure.
Yes that really would be
*cough* illubulu arc *cough*
While not the same as a cure what happens is a kick in the balls of equal measure
9:30 you missed the chance to say
"on a different layer"
3:40 ughh this actually hits pretty close
(Dont worry i'm also late lol) anyways . . . .This video is expliained so well! I'm subcribing right now! (duh)
I was shot holding my dead cat that died during a robbery and an attempt was made on my life and I refused to cry. this made me break. do not watch this because even the strong umong us can break. its fucked up
it is animated in such a way you feel only hope for the characters, you want them safe and to stay alive, unharmed. but it breaks you at every turn
it gives you a chance to feel hope again and rips it away. just go watch some different anime, because this one truly hurt me
and though im am neither sad nor suicidal, all I yearn for is the afterlife and to experience, but even though I would gladly throw myself into any situation this one is designed to break you
yet.... there was an element behind it that made you continue, made you press on and keep watching. so with that I guess its obviously your choice... but ill leave you with a warning.
I love ozens outfit
Just worried that they would keep experimenting on children like nanachi and maybe make more creatures like nanachi and make them explore the abyss for them
Bonedrewd is the best dad .
That Guy yeah obviously (I m kidding he is the worst)
-sobs-
But the most most cruel thing is that mitty still alive
and being held by *that thing.*
@@Bluelyre you don't mean "that"? Do you?
You have returned!! Also how old is nanachi anyway
But her accident happened around 1000 yrs ago
not 1000 years w0t
nanachi ages normally .............?
...
yea ._.
Probably 12-16
Nanachi is between 30 and 1000 years old
Not much older than Prushka
Bondrewd still best dad as we can see in the movie.
the manga is so hard, so I can understand why there is no second season
Nanochi is cool
