Honestly, I love Cheetu cause he's perfect for showing the major draw of nen as a power system; the thought put into each ability/hatsu by the characters themselves. Yeah, Kastro showed us what happens if you don't try to work in the nen categories best for you, but Cheetu shows what happens when you just come up with an ability just cause it sounds/looks cool and don't actually consider the strategies and potential drawbacks of said ability, which further highlights the ACTUALLY thought out abilities from all the other characters.
I disagree about Kastro. His big mistake wasn't using the hatsu clone. Honestly, it was a good power. His mistake was thinking it was invincible. He gloated and played with his food while Hisoka figured him out and dismantled him. By all indications, Kastro was a match for Hisoka in terms of speed and power. But Hisoka far outclassed him in intelligence, fundamentals, and adaptability. I stand by that if Kastro had truly understood the threat that Hisoka presented and chose to blitz him while he still had his advantage, Kastro would have won--"wrong category" or not.
@@tomc.5704 The story specifically has multiple different people explain why Kastro's decision to create a hatsu that did not complement his natural nen affinities was an outright bad idea. A really complicated hatsu like instantly creating, manipulating, and dispelling a perfect duplicate in the middle of a fight, for an enhancer, requires much more effort and focus than it would for an actual manipulator or conjurer. You see this in the fact that once he was overloaded in the fight, he could barely even defend himself because of all the mental strain preforming his doppelganger hatsu required. If Kastro *had* remained perfectly calm and collected, yeah, sure he could have kept up the fight more than he did, but there in lies the fallacy. If he HADN'T tried to force a strategy that actively worked against his natural affinity, he wouldn't have had that mental strain problem in the first place and would have been much more able to physically withstand Hisoka's tricks. Wing even says Kastro could have become one of the strongest nen users alive if he stuck with the Tiger Bite Fist, an enhancement hatsu, and kept working on it instead of using all his talent and effort into creating his doppelganger hatsu instead. Smart nen users in the series show that working within the bounds of their natural affinities is how you maximize your potential, not by just coming up with whatever ability sounds strong but actively works against your potential. TLDR Duplication hatsu is a good power in concept, but not for a fuckin enhancer as it completely wastes one's potential for a really sub-optimal payoff. They need to consider their existing strengths and weaknesses, as well as what they want to use the power for. And, in a way, a power's usefulness is proportional to how hard the characters think about and desire a thing. Kurapika's chains are OP, because he is laser focused on the Spider. My one problem with nen is that the abilities can be really hax just for the sake of it.Example Knov could have kill all of the royal guards and king, If he used that window opener technique combine that with God's accomplise and boom. One shots any character than there's that character in the new arc who can travel 10 secs into the future or something.Really hax.
@@contentfilter6277 Well, the main difference is that in HxH most of the characters all have basic nen skills and only one unique skill of their own. In Naruto, it seems more that everyone has a multitude of semi-unique skills that they combine in various ways. Like, Rock Lee's thing isn't just Taijutsu, it's also his equipment, the weights, unlocking gates and probably more. Naruto doesn't just have the rasengan, he also has shadow clones, the ninetails, and probably other crap. It's not a clean comparison, cuz HxH chars do sometimes have more than one unique skill, but it seems more common in Naruto

His stupidity killed him. Killua's Grandfather Zeno tells him how self centered he is. "WOAH CHECK OUT MY TECHNIQUE, Dont be too shocked when you see it" And then Zeno gives him advice. Cheetu was stupid enough to not consider that you might have more than 1 opponent (Which is Silva). Just remember Cheetu, you cant keep your eye on 1 million enemies.
It always amazed me that Cheetu was a Conjurer because his personality seems in stark contrast with the personality attributes of a Conjurer. Cheetu is stupidly relaxed and playful, is very impatient, and is very short-sighted. A typical Conjurer is high strung, serious, and observant. My headcanon to justify this is Cheetu is just a Transmuter who decides to use conjuration techniques for whatever reason. Side Note: Yes, I know Hisoka claimed that the Nen Personality types weren't 100% accurate, though I still personally like to attribute everyone's personality with their Hatsu.
I like to think Cheetu is high strung, serious and observant. He's easily po'ed if someone stops him from having fun. He's seriously dedicated to goofing off. He's observant about things that don't matter at all. Panel 23 on Sailor Moon Vol. 7? Cheetu's got that stuff on lock.
With a little thought in practicality, Cheetu could have easily been OP. Imagine if he increased his speed further with Enhancer techniques and conjured some nen armor, he could tackle people at top speed turning them into a fine red mist
You know, the crossbow thing could have actually been somewhat useful because it forces people to block or dodge, and while they are doing that he could have attacked physically.
Whether its a good or bad thing, Cheetu is definitely one of the most memorable characters in the chimera ant arc. Out of all the new characters, this one dumbass minor character put a long lasting impression. Cant help but like him for being a complete clown
Always nice to find a video about HxH and someone understanding the show. Been watching too many dumbass reaction channels that are confused by every little thing and just want to see cool fights.
2:42 "He the intends to find the quickest possible shortcut"for me this literaly explains cheetu. Maybe he got this from his cheetah genes and is reflected in his fighting style since his attacks are fast enoungh to land 10 (or more) punches in a second but they aren't that strong compared to the others.
The funny thing to me is that Cheetu's crossbow could probably be extremely dangerous and useful were he smarter. His muscle speed being faster than his arrows implies he could fire it insanely fast, essentially giving him a light and small machine gun, and his insane speed could allow him to form walls of projectiles from hundreds of directions. He could force his opponents into making impulse and automatic reactions to the weapon's attacks that lead them into his path, he could fake them out by using arrows to signify where he is and move somewhere else nigh immediately while his enemy is distracted by the fake warning, he could abuse the weapon and then catch his enemy off guard by attacking up close with its claw, he could use his speed to stay on an enemy's ass - preventing them from escaping - and drill into them with too many shots and angles to block, etcetera, etcetera. He's just too much of a dumbass to even think of any of this, coming up with a crossbow because he thought 'I don't want Morel to come closer to me and catch me, so I'll make a weapon that works from far away'. He accidentally created a weapon that synergized pretty interestingly with his speed... he was just too dumb to use that synergy in any way.

Very happy someone took into account Cheetu. His death was definitely anti climatic. I seem to find myself remembering those type of characters in series and movies. Good break down sir.
The worst part of this whole mess is that he would have been able to kick some ass if he'd simply made his containment area able to shift in responce to things moving inside of it. Just dragging that horizon towards him and out from under people as he goes.
to be honest, Cheetu crossbow ability is the perfect ability for him, especially since its slower than him. he can fire multiple projectiles and make sure they all hit in the same time from different directions. not to mention the speed the arrow can get through his momentum

Cheetu is an example of the gifted child in school who grew up lazy. His baseline abilities are very good. Almost overpowered. He just never took the time to refine them properly. He's a conjurer, which is probably the hardest nen type to develop, because you really have to think about what you want to conjure. Instead he picked an 8 hour game of tag because it seemed fun and a crossbow because he impulsively wanted a ranged attack.
I love Cheetu. He is so silly and simple minded. I didn't want him to die. He could've run away and leave to do whatever he wanted, like Welfin. People could identify with him because when he recieved power, he didn't think well on how to use it and I don't blame him, he was unexperienced, simple minded, and didn't have much time to think of a good idea. In a moment he reminded me of Gon when this last one doesn't understand something. He looks so innocent and adorable xD same thing with Cheetu. Him being silly and simple minded is adorable and kind of relatable 😂 i just love Cheetu 🐆💖
Whats also interesting about Cheetu is that his Nen Type doesnt reflect his personality at all. He should be a Ermitter, but is a Conjurer, which is pretty much the opposite. I wonder why that is.
I don’t think Hisoka’s personality test is universal among everyone of their type, and is more of a general observation. Cheetu isn’t the only odd one either. Melody/Senritsu isn’t impulsive or impatient at all despite being an Emitter. And I wouldn’t call Pitou or Neon independent despite both being Specialists.
to be fair that new ability could be useful in a fight specifically because it's slower than him. He can shoot at someone and then run around behind them and attack from the rear at the same time the bolt hits.
Great video! I've always seen Cheetu as the moron that you love to see get put in his place in stories. Also, his battles are fun. Serious talk now... where's that comparison video, my friend? We want it. We need it.
I liked cheetu’s design. That’s about it. I liked his design a lot more with no head because that meant he didn’t have a mouth to speak his mind. ( added bonus he had no mind )
Cheetu reminded me of the mosquito from One Punch that Saitama couldn't kill. He was quick and annoying, always buzzing around in your ear and trying to draw blood.
The fact that there is a character like this guy, make's me appreciate more the abilities of the other nen users

The only “bad” ant I felt sad that died.
"He looks like a cheetah but he can run as fast as a human."
-My brother's reaction to Cheetu.
Boy. It’s been years since I watched hxh and you just reminded me of how much I loved Cheetu. I was legitimately bummed when he died.
THANK YOU I honestly loved Cheetu a lot and was sad to see that no one was really discussing him.
Heres how to fix his Ability 'Tag':
Make the Rules so the Opponent has to Catch you at all Cost;
and then bind Manipulation into the Ability so that the User fals under youre Mindcontrol if he loses the Tag-Game.
That way, youre Army grows.
With just those 2 simple Smart-Moves while creating the Hatsu,
it's actually rather terrifying.
Side-Note: Most dont take note,
but Shaiapouf also embarassed-himself here, actually.
HE gave him that Tag Power. His first and only OWN Hatsu was actually 'Claws and Crowssbow'.
So I didn't know what to expect but "I have a soft spot for catboys and dumbasses, ok?" put a much bigger smile on my face than it had any right to
His stupidity killed him.
I would love a video about Leol or Welfin. Both were smart and very practical, but their own human nature thwarted a lot of their plans.
@@Cyanicide I guess if you "really' stretch it. Lol
With a little thought in practicality, Cheetu could have easily been OP. Imagine if he increased his speed further with Enhancer techniques and conjured some nen armor, he could tackle people at top speed turning them into a fine red mist
That tease at the end got me so hyped
This video just showed me how much i don't remember from HxH, and that i should do a rewatch of this series.
Loving these vids, can't wait for the next one!!
He's pretty much the subversion of the Idiot Fighter type. He's all about style with no substance.
"He think he's hot shit, but he's complete fodder."
Why does this feel like the line I'd hear to murder someone in a rap battle.
Always nice to find a video about HxH and someone understanding the show. Been watching too many dumbass reaction channels that are confused by every little thing and just want to see cool fights.
Honestly one of my favorite characters just because of his lack of growth in contrast to the others lol
This dude would bring a cross bow slower than himself to a fight

"Hes a dumbass cat boy" its 2 am and this line almost made me wake the house laughing
Let’s be honest cheetu probably died in his past life because he thought he could outspeed a chimera ant
Quality video. Keep it up my dude. I have not seen one of your videos in a while so I tried to subscribe to your channel.... but I was already subscribed lol.
This video made me realise Togashi's genius is also present here.
Cheetu = Cheetah = Cheater
Thank you for making a video on Cheetu, and for conveying all his ineffective glory
I actually really liked cheetu but not because of the purpose of him in the story but he just reminds me of a reckless childs who gets excited from every little thing he reminds me of the kid who while hes annoying the fact that hes there is just really fun, I dont think he really deserved to die since again hes just too dumb in a good way to understand, I know people dont like him because of these traits but maybe I have a personal connection to his character personality to his character and everytime hes on screen makes me smile, also I think his design is cool
man theres even a video essay on cheetu
glad I could be the one to provide such hyper-specific content lol
Did anyone else think throughout that Cheetu was the ant that Pokkle turned into, based on looks and higher-register voice?
i really wanted to see or at least to know what his new ability was though!
that might be the funniest title to any video i’ve ever seen 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope for a video like this of all the quimera ant we met, even the ones with least impact in the story, like the ones in sazan group or the crocodile guy who just left
He stated he had a new move and I wanted to see it but the Zoldyc Gramps crushed him before we got to see it 😭
Well, when life doesn't matter, and all our grand struggles are mere vanity, some stupid ass is bound to make me smile.
1:47 very mecore
me and one of my best friends (who also happens to be the only hxh watching friend I have :D) literally spent an entire day just appreciating Cheetu's dumbassery while I was first watching the anime
"If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him."
"The greatest victory is that which requires no battle." - Sun Tzu
"Or do I simply exist to be someone else's distraction?" loool this is great! I love escapism. +1 sub for wry 4th wall break :)
Mathwiz has discovered the true power of anime!
Thank you for discussing the minor characters, Mathwiz

Mathwiz said Himbo rights
He reminds me of Deidara
Which is why I like him much. 😂 even side characters like cheetu have this much depth.
You’re an excellent hunter x masterpiece analysis channel. Keep it up 👍
except Deidara was actually a threat. Kishimoto had to make some pretty big asspulls to save Sasuke from Deidara.
carlos dumbratzen ......His asspull was summoning the king of snakes, Manda, as his meat shield from an artistic explosion.
Deidara was smart as fuck though, he pushed Sasuke past his limits and I count it as a draw.
Those asspulls bro
this title is funny but a perfect way to put it
Very happy someone took into account Cheetu. His death was definitely anti climatic. I seem to find myself remembering those type of characters in series and movies. Good break down sir.
There is only one cat boi that will ever matter KILLUA
He was most likely a kid when he was eaten due to how he talks an what he does during his talk
He put all his points in speed
The worst part of this whole mess is that he would have been able to kick some ass if he'd simply made his containment area able to shift in responce to things moving inside of it. Just dragging that horizon towards him and out from under people as he goes.
Ayy great video!
to be honest, Cheetu crossbow ability is the perfect ability for him, especially since its slower than him.
he can fire multiple projectiles and make sure they all hit in the same time from different directions.
not to mention the speed the arrow can get through his momentum
Haha, NO.
5:21 Cheetu did keep his eyes on his opponent, he just kept them on the wrong one
My god the end was depressing I’m going cry now
Don't let this video distract you from the fact that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum.
Keep these videos coming! People need their HxH fix
I know not many feel Pity for him, but i do.
He had Potential. He still could have grown. But he decided against it.
He improved during the War, but in the end, he failed to do the Most Important Step: To betray the Bad people and go to the Good Guys. So he died, obviously.
He failed to make the last Step, he decided against it. He didnt just died a Cartoony Death, instead, people should think about him and learn from his Mistakes.
It ain't easy beeing cheesy....

The title of this video are the most true words I have heard in my life.
Cheatu is the only character to ever annoy me aside from Nina from Code Geass (i forgot what she did but i remember being very annoyed).
your videos are great. keep goin bro
He looked like he had an exoskeleton at one point in the video
And he is funny. I laughed so hard when morel said he lost cause he is an idiot, i find these kind of characters to be the ones i like the most
Agree with both of u guys
@@steps8140 same. He is very cute and funny. Him being unexperienced is so sweet
@Mehmet Sarikaya yes. I felt it was so unffair that he died. He deserved a chance :c
Dedicating braincells to Cheetu is not something I thought I'd be doing tonight.
Underrated video.
That's one helluva of a teaser ending
this video title makes me laugh every time I see it in my hxh playlist help-
Whats also interesting about Cheetu is that his Nen Type doesnt reflect his personality at all.
Hisoka’s personality test is akin to Zodiac signs. They are not meant to be set in stone or definite.
to be fair that new ability could be useful in a fight specifically because it's slower than him. He can shoot at someone and then run around behind them and attack from the rear at the same time the bolt hits.
How do you only have 55k subs, you're videos have the quality of a 1mil subs account...
I've seen worse vids from people with way more than 1 mil subs.
Great video! I've always seen Cheetu as the moron that you love to see get put in his place in stories. Also, his battles are fun.
Serious talk now... where's that comparison video, my friend? We want it. We need it.
Very appropriate use of Quarrel
The title alone got my like
I liked cheetu’s design. That’s about it. I liked his design a lot more with no head because that meant he didn’t have a mouth to speak his mind. ( added bonus he had no mind )
I feel called out.
how so?
Love the title "Peak Dumbass"
I'm very proud of it lol
The crossbow would've been a fantastic weapon for Cheetu, if he just fired it while running
I like this video. This is a good video.
the title made me laugh more then im willing to admit
Cheetu reminded me of the mosquito from One Punch that Saitama couldn't kill. He was quick and annoying, always buzzing around in your ear and trying to draw blood.
2:35 episode?
Well done
*sees "to be continued"*
hippity hoppity subscribe button is now my property 🥴
This man makes me think much better of my self
I feel personally attacked because at some point I was thinking about myself.
I refuse to be a Cheetu when I can be a Morel
I Was So Happy When He Got Squashed Like The Bug He Was
