How many species did you count? lol This was with just one dive, 45 minutes, I always wondered what was lurking at Grosse Pointe Shores park, I wasn't disappointed, everything is lurking down there. Them musky gonna be feeding on them suckers big time! 11:41 looks like the smallmouth were bedded down right here with the eggs.
Yes sir, bronzeback paradise right there. Even though you may not be catching them, believe me, there always down there, especially at this spot Bubba Vern! Lake St. Clair Highway
@@Arcasting1 Been producing for me since I was 5 years old Bubba! lol Shores residents catch friggin musky in the marina there on the other side... Be nice to one day get a pass there again, we can go fish that shore spot and smokem! Fun on north and east wind days when you wouldn't bother going out on the boat.
We'll have to get some underwater drone footage up on your channel Bubba, let ya bower my sd... Right after filming this I was racing back to get you Vern!
Man I wish I had the claw at the time, could of slipped it on and snatched up that tube jig. Probably still be there when I get back, lol, I should do the 9 mile pier next. Best to get out there during the week and in the morning, so another boat doesn't run over my tether. Thanks for watching The hookup!!!
@@TeamJesusOutdoors ua-cam.com/video/HNMDIzE0yDg/v-deo.html yeah I hear ya on that, I know a photographer that uses the Gladius Mini in Hawaii and gets amazing footage of Sea rays and other beautiful fish, around $1k... not too bad, but still not cheap.. Whats nice about the underwater drones is you're not likely to lose it like an aerial drone due to strong wind or a loss of signal, but you do gotta be careful of other boats running over the tether.
O can never say it enough but you really can take the viewer on an adventure. Besides the fish there were some interesting objects down there. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks, these underwater drones are pretty cool, just never know what ya might see down there. Hope to get a musky on film eventually, I wanted to film more with the drone, but been working a lot lately...
"that area" in the summer produces big fish. I know because I live a mile and a half away. tournaments I believe can be won by just fishing there alone. Cool video.
ua-cam.com/video/ZM4bs139tHw/v-deo.html You ain't kidding, I've seen Benjamin Nowak pull out two 50 inch musky in one day on bass tackle, along with some 5 lb smallies. I got a 40 inch pike there one spring... Back in the 90s, my friend Andrew said he had on a pike close to 50 inches broke him off.... Monster walleye, as well as plenty of largies in the summer. If was a youngster and lived in Grosse Pointe Shores, I'd be fishing it every day... No other shoreline spot that I've seen produce fish over the years, other than maybe that spot Buck Fishes on the Canadian side, but I don't think that spot produces the smallies this spot produces. www.eternalangler.org/portfolio-view/big-northern-pike-at-grosse-pointe-shores-park/
Great underwater video! That must have been fun to chase those fish. Lots of them too! The visibility was really good. Is it like that most of the time? That was cool.
It's a blast Franklin, I wanted to do a narration like you, but then I thought, gonna let this one fly with just music, turned out pretty good. I'll have to do a narrated video one day... Ahhh, visibility varies, it was actually crystal clear two days before when I was out there fishing, so it gets way clearer than this, especially in the st clair shores region. It rained the day before, so this is what it looks like a day after rain, but it wasn't a heavy rain, more mild. Lake St. Clair wasn't always clear like this, the foreign invasive zebra mussels made it this way. There seems to be pros and cons of zebras, but I did read an article they're having on the impact on the younger perch, the mussels eat the zooplankton that the younger perch feed on, so the younger perch are starving in certain great lakes. www.jsonline.com/story/sports/columnists/paul-smith/2018/07/27/paul-smith-lake-michigan-yellow-perch-dire-straights/834668002/ "The young perch are starving, Dave Jude of the University of Michigan told me at a 1994 perch conference. " www.psd1.org/cms/lib4/WA01001055/Centricity/Domain/607/Zebra%20Mussels%20of%20the%20US.pdf But then there's this article on pros and cons... www.walleyecentral.com/garygray/gray-zebra.shtml I think zebra mussels have a slower impact and not as bad, they seem to be coexhisting for the last three decades, what has a lot of us worried is the asian carp. Basically another reason to have an underwater drone, if I ever spot one of these invasives, definitely report it to the DNR pronto.
I believe it bro, with everyone practicing catch and release these days, gotta be some monsters down there. Why I use 20 lb braid to 40 lb fluoro, both for giant smallmouth and musky, I don't like losing musky on bass baits either, 40 lb will never stop a direct hit from musky teeth, but I think it gives ya a little extra protection. I sure up they open up the Canadian border soon...
I remarked to Arcasting the other day, hes nuts for using 6 lb sniper, which he used to reel in the catfish. I think even 8 lb sniper is too light, from my understanding 8lb sniper fluoro diameter is equal to standard 6 lb fluoro. Never underestimate st clair smallies, this ain't Kent Lake or Lake Orion. Have to be prepared at all times when fishing Lake St Clair or you'll lose a master angler or possibly a record. I don't fuck around anymore. I think Jon bondy uses 200lb steel leader on the detroit river because he's seen 60 inch musky surfacing. Tight lines!
