If I was an African leader, I would demand that at least 90% of all the work was done locally by citizens of the country, and for most of the jobs where locals did not have enough skill to perform the job, I would hire teachers, instructors and consultants to help them get the skills needed. Even if this would cause some delays, it would be a huge investment in the future labor pool of the nation, provide numerous jobs and allow for the creation of capable national companies which could go on to do more infrastructure projects in the future, locally and possibly also abroad.

Dangote Refinery is private being funded by The Dangote group owned by the richest man in Africa Aliko Dangote. Konza Technology city in Kenya is being funded by The Kenya government for infrastructure and private investors for private real estate. The grand millennium dam in Ethiopia is being financed by a Ethiopian government bond and Chinese loan. Bagamoyo port in Tanzania is being funded by the Oman sovereign fund, Tanzania Government and China. The standard gauge railway in Kenya is financed by a loan from China (the repayment of which is killing us already). So the funding is a mixture and nearly all commercial in nature. There are no grants. Only loans, bonds, taxes or shares.

Regarding Kenya; There's the LAPSSET project that, upon completion, will have a new 32 berth port making it the largest port in Kenya, a new oil refinery and a new SGR line that directly links Kenya with South Sudan and Ethiopia. The footage you used for Konza City is mostly for Tatu City. Konza City has yet to begin such vertical construction as the government is still setting up the horizontal infrastructure such as telecom lines and drainage. But a good video nonetheless 👌🏾

In Kenya we have lappset the biggest transport corridor in Africa after completion we also have the construction of another city in Kiambu called Tatu City
We are giving other fellow African countries a chance to catch up. Remember we had a lot of projects before 2010. Most of the projects were completed those who were identified on National Development Plan for 2030. Currently we are busy building roads.
I wish a time will come all this projects will be handle by African engineers and professionals, so that the money will stay in the content. Amen

We are giving other fellow African countries a chance to catch up. Remember we had a lot of projects before 2010. Most of the projects were completed those who were identified on National Development Plan for 2030. Currently we are busy building roads.
