Nigeria has never been a country. Nigeria is a joke. All the Chinese infrastructure are scam, bad roads, abusing their factory workers. The Nigeria politician used the money borrowed from China to finance their lifestyle.
Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world: A new report by The World Poverty Clock shows Nigeria has overtaken India as the country with the most extreme poor people in the world. India has a population seven times larger than Nigeria’s. The struggle to lift more citizens out of extreme poverty is an indictment on successive Nigerian governments which have mismanaged the country’s vast oil riches through incompetence and corruption. The 100 million plus Nigerians now living in extreme poverty represents nearly 50% of its estimated 200million plus population. As Nigeria faces a major population boom-it will become the world’s third largest country by 2050-it’s a problem will likely worsen. But having large swathes of people still living in extreme poverty is an Africa-wide problem. Our question to each and everyone of you guys on this platform is, what are you doing or what plans have you got to play your part in the Nigerian economy? As we all know if you wait on the government, you will be waiting forever. Nigeria has got lots of potential but it is abandoned by Nigerians and if only we all come together to play our part in the economy, Nigeria would be a better country. Play your part and stop waiting for our corrupt leaders to take action, chances of that happening is second to none.
And they like to say south Africa is built by white people and that they have independence and build their own things yet they keep borrowing money to sustain their economies🤣🤣

That is an impossible idea. Management proves that it is easier to divide an institution into different departments so that it is easier to manage because you don’t have to deal with one big mess by yourself. So countries should remain countries and sort out our issues as factions. Imagine if one Office dealt with the whole of Africa’s economy we’d be poor than ever with all the corruption. So it’s good we divided with different presidents with different mindsets so that one good African country that has a good president can lead by example. It creates hope when one country can become a jewel nation. With 54 countries it’s impossible for all those presidents to be rotten but with one country it’s a 50/50 chance so if the government is corrupt the whole of Africa suffers. No thank you. We’ll stay divided until we fit enough to be one big country and when we don’t see corruption as a threat. But for now we not ready.
Africa has no one to blame, but bad governance. There is no reason for ghana with vast arable land and human resources, majority of them are jobless, should export gold and diamond and use the proceeds to pay for rice and other food imports. If ghana government can facilitate a policy to make ghana self reliant in rice production, for example, the millions or a billion dollars rice importation, can be to build infrastructures in ghana.Ghana creates jobs in foreign lands by buying their rule.So Africa leaders are to be blamed for neocolonialism.ghana cannot survive,if eighty percent of the work force get paid under the table.Goverment must ensure more formal jobs are created so income tax can be collected for development of the country. And it will catapult ghana on road to modernization, not merely having beautiful architecture of buildings, while millions walk aimlessly on city streets with no jobs.A word to the wise is enough,
As a Kenyan i can arrogantly say that once the regime changes, The Chinese will have to go recover their money from the people they lent it to, We shall not be compelled to pay for the purported debts sealed between politicians and few Chinese individuals.......Let them lend us with caution and establish that the money given for a project is properly utilized and the projects being funded are feasible and beneficial to the citizens of this great republic of Kenya.
You mind want to change your mind on realizing that the greatest economies such as US, Russia, Israel, UK are the biggest debtors... on a smaller scale in your village the wealthiest chap has the biggest debt. JPM is giving u a false hope.
Thats because of our leaders ,they are greedy and stash most of it in personal bank accounts and fail to develop their own countries, also there's a lot of looting by foreign countries. Combine the two factors, and you get poverty.
I won't lie, i was expecting my country to make the list...dominate the list in fact. I'm talking about "top 3" type of domination. Today, i've learnt something new about these great African countries. South African here.
@Vincent Vermeer Well you clearly have reading issues, when did i say we don't have a debt? It's okay to just shut up, drink some water and mind your own business sometimes.
It will be great if the debt are present as percentage of the GDP of the countries. This will give a clearer idea on the ability of the countries to repay the debt.
The SGR project from MOM-NAI costed 2.3 billion USD, independent international railway experts estimated that it should not have costed more than 1.5 billion USD. The question is why bought Kenyan politicians an overpriced project without any proper request for proposals from different bidders and other competing companies? The answer is very simple: China filled the pockets of all involved Kenyan politicians with tons of money. It's always the same story in most African countries. Can you imagine why most presidents of African countries are also the richtest person in their countries?
South Africa may not be owing China a lot but we owe everyone else- and China too although not among the top 10. Almost 60 percent of our GDP is debt. Ideally the debt to GDP ratio should not exceed 25 percent.
IMF is evil but they canceled debts many, many times! Count on China for never cancel a debt, or conceived a single penny! China is sneaky, they have corrupted all the Africans leaders and opinion makers!
Debt isn't bad for as long as your using it to build revenue earning projects ;that will pay back the debt effectively and build the economy to a point that you won't need anymore debt in future . The downside is our leaders always take loans , steal most of it, or use it to build sensless projects that are nothing but liabilities, which end up costing more to maintain than they did to build.
Thank you!!! Most countries in the world have debt. The United States has trillions of dollars with of debt. This loan will build up Africa and create jobs. It will also open up opportunities for ownership. The debt will be paid and Africa will become a superpower
You are right but the problem we don't see thr infrastructure where as that is the deal they make with China before getting the debt but all end up in private pockets and unfinished projects
That money they borrow increases when it comes to repayment probably because of the interest. It never reduces. China gives these loans to countries that they know cannot pay the debt in due time.
That's true. However, when it comes to these loans between countries or any other contracts for that matter, there is always a discussion beforehand. Where both parties are meant to draw the lines with what they are comfortable with, and what they are not comfortable with. Negotiations can take forever till middle ground is reached . Now the bad thing is a lot of our leaders don't care how the debt will be repaid, they are blinded by greed. They are advised against debt contracts that will trap them, but they don't care about the fine print, they just want the money. I am not saying those offering these loans are Saints, no. They have their dubious plans as well (they are known for their shrewd business acumen after all ),but they don't strong-arm anyone into signing (Not yet anyway). If a country's leaders have any sense, they cancel the contract and send it back when they see it isn't helping their people and is a trap ,and the other country is not willing to negotiate. That's what Tanzania's leaders did. They noticed a contract that the previous regime had entered into was questionable, so they insisted on revisiting discussions, with the possibility of either making the contract fair or cancelling it long term . But other leaders know damn well its a trap, but sign anyway because they are thinking of their own pockets.

I thought we established this already. I issue isn’t with taking loans to finance projects. The issue is the the interest charge which leaves projects economically non viable. It’s not to develop Africa, but to create dependence on foreign countries. This doesn’t create equality or a fair basis for furniture trade when you’re indebted prior to negotiation. I'm glad namibia isn't on the list cause i plan on moving there...

South Africa certainly owes them too

We must be careful with China in Africa....
Principally the long term interest and plan..
In my channel we have discussed to much about this issues.
We, Africans have to unite and liberate Africa from this mess by being innovative. It’s just sad to see some people here in this comment section celebrating that my country is not here lol your country is next it’s only a matter of time, that’s if we don’t take action ASAP. There’s a lot of hate and unnecessary competition amongst African nations and descendants it’s just sad
To keep perspective, The U.S owes 1 Trillion to China. So Africa, don't feel so bad.
@@raymondchikuku1809 But Africa also exports to China without African raw materials and now even agricultural produce China cannot manufacture shit. We also buy from them and can also impose trade restrictions.
we can just overcome this by working hard to pay back .then Europeans who wants to keep Africa undeveloped. thanks CHINA
finnaly someone with a knowledge on geopolitics
You will never pay it back though lol. The way the deals are set up you will default on the loans within a few years and be owned by china.
The problem itself is not the debt, but how corrupt a politician is.
Once the yield rate is higher than the interest rate, it is profit. Meanwhile the inflation rate is higher, the infrastructure is reevaluated. That is investment. It is very common in developed countries.
AFRICA lets stop blaming other people for our problems
When you sell your soul to the devil you will go down with him
African countries to assist each other to pay this huge debts and to stop borrowing loans outside Africa.

@Abyssinia 024 ye bro I feel for our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia civil war is not good for the country and the youth

Obviously many people need to learn what is investment. Learn the strategy of Marshall plan
Tanzania vivaaaaa..................
What’s the point of building what is affordable but having to pay back amounts you can’t fund?
ERITREA never took loan from no one ,that makes Eritrea debt free ,I m so proud of our leadership

Are you related to Wode Maya??
@Upblackrace Westafrica why are you always so obsessed with north Africans...??nothing will ever change and a united africa will also include them,as you can see they are also members of AU

@Upblackrace Westafrica what's always your problems with South Africa and North Africa haa!!! Do You have a thorn on your butt that is paining you
@Upblackrace Westafrica to change the South African constitution we only need a 66.67% (2/3) majority vote in parliament. SA demographics are:
Black - 80.2%
White - 8.4%
Coloured - 8.8%
Indian/Asian - 2.5%
Other - 0.1%
So you can see there'll be enough votes if needs be. As long as all those eligible to vote make there mark incase a referendum is required.
Thank you

Don't feel bad. We owe them over 1.2 trillion. Welcome to infrastructure 101 and the global economy where everyone owes everyone. It cost to be a secured and developed country. Once your countries gets on their feet and learn more, you will soon be the loaner and not just the borrower.
