- President Xi Jinping has said that the China-Hungary relationship is now at its best in history. The leader is in Budapest for talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Infrastructure projects and the war in Ukraine are high on the agenda. Alex Cadier reports from Brussels and Olivia Siong reports from Beijing.

Orban kept Hungary out of the Russia-Ukraine war, kept the illegal migrants out of Hungary and foreign investment is pouring into the country creating tens of thousands of jobs.

Actually, the Russia-Ukraine war was one of the things Xi and Orban discussed. Both China and Hungary support a ceasefire and peace negotiations. Orban stated that there is no military solution to resolving this conflict. Continuing to supply Ukraine with more and more weapons will just prolong the war, resulting in more destruction and more corpses on the battlefield. The $200 billion worth of weapons sent to Ukraine so far did not help, because Ukraine is running out of soldiers and Russia is winning the war. Sending soldiers to Ukraine as suggested by the French president would bring NATO into direct conflict with Russia and trigger WW3, which would likely be a nuclear war and nobody in their right mind would want that.
