I am really not able to advise. Madness is not my boat. Nor am I knowledgeable of Proas in general. Madness is the only one of which I have any experience. I can tell you that she seems to be a very well thought out design. she is fast, smooth through the water and responsive. She was professionally built and all of her rigging and gear is top knotch. She seems very stout and capable. I am completely confident when I am on-board her. for what it is worth...
those are two very different boats! Tiki 30 is apt for long cruises, with safety. Madness is a raceboat, in which it is advisaeble to keep the sheet in your hand, and reef early, unless you are racing. She should be lovely, and exciting to sail - that is for sure. You need to adjust your sailing to shunting, though.
I am in doubt on wether to build a tiki 30 or a "madness " proa, could any one chine in the pros and cons? thanks.
