Samsung Electric Dryer Model Number DV48H7400EW/A2
Issues: Dryer continues to tumble when powered off
Main CPU Control Board Part Number DC92-01626A
I’d suggest checking that part number on eBay or Amazon and seeing if you can find any good deals. The Free fix in the video might work for you for a good long while, however it may not, so I included the part number for this particular dryer in case you needed it.
If you found this video valuable and saved a boat load of $$$ please consider donating to the cause! I’d love to be doing videos full time bringing DIY info to as many people as possible, saving you all time, money and the frustration of calling in a repair person or having to buy new appliances. Once I replace my income with video revenue I’ll donate the units I fix to the Veterans here in my area that could really use the help. It’s been a passion project for some time and now I’m working towards my goal of really helping not only my viewers but my local community. Thanks Y’all for the consideration!

I have a different model Samsung. But still had exact same set up in the back under the cover. Took more time to clean up all the crud behind the dryer than performing this fix. Thanks a ton for the video! We shall have dry clothes tonight. :)
Thanks for a FREE way to fix this problem!! I hope someone has told SAMSUNG they need to fix this from the get go.
I literally just hit the side of the dryer without removing anything and it worked 🤣 I’m laughing out loud right now. Nothing has ever been that easy to fix ever. I didn’t even unscrew anything. Thank you!
As I was watching this video, I looked down and saw your comment. I walked back into my laundry room and smacked my dryer 3 times and it started working again 😂 Thanks! I know there is an underlying problem, but I don't feel like addressing right now.

Glad I saw this comment. Banged three times on each side of the dryer near the board and we are back up and running!
Man, you just saved me 1K. I was about to buy new dryer. I did exactly as on this video. It worked.
Two screws saved me a $100 appliance appointment. Thank you!!!
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
It's the top relay with the brown and black wires. The other relay is for the heat strips. The relay contacts start to stick together due to repeated operation.
I just watched this yesterday, tried it today, you’re a life saver!! It worked. I have 4 kids and in a tight bind. Thanks
Yay!! 😀
You saved a lot of people a lot of money. Thanks a ton, man!
Glad I could help!
I woke up to the dryer running. I figured the ghost needed to dry clothes. Thank you for the fix. I will let you know how it goes.
🤣
Thank you! I just smacked the back of the dryer a few times, and that fixed it.
Haha great!
Unbelievable. I just tried this a few moments ago and it actually worked! Thanks!
Thank you for teaching the easy way to fix this issue. I did it and it worked!
I just watched your video after dissassembling my dryer for was was diagnosed as a heat sensor problem. $30 later and no fix I stumbled upon your channel. I took the control panel apart (5 minutes), tapped on the module with the brown and black wires (disconnected), plugged everything back in and it works. Thank you, thank you. You saved me $$$ and a week of waiting for parts.
I just tried this trick accept I couldn't move it to take it apart, I was about to dry a load of clothes, so I just smacked that area with my bare hand and it worked! Thank you!
HA! Awesome! 😎
I just did this again but it has been at least 3 years since the first time this happened. So if you fix it and then forget that you did, like me, you might be fine for awhile. Thanks for posting this, saving folks time and money 🙏🏾
You are an absolute lifesaver. My dryer was doing the exact same thing. I did exactly what you said perfect. Thanks a lot
Glad it helped!
3 screws, a tap & 10 minutes!
Great video, my wife is pleased!!
Thanks 😅
Call that mission accomplished! Great job!
Thanks. It works for my dryer. I found out that the problem was in the smaller relay (Sanyou SFK-112DM) with a multimeter.
Excellent info! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you.... Saved me from calling someone to fix it. Tapping the relay worked. I will order the new board and do a permanent, until the same problem happens again, fix
Excellent!
I have a newer Samsung dryer and this issue occurred within 2 years of buying it brand new. This worked perfectly for me. A few light taps to one side of the relay with the back of my screwdriver fixed it. On mine it is the slightly smaller relay on the side (not the corner piece).
Awesome 😎
Thank you SO much for making this video! I was so happy to be able to easily fix my dryer tonight. 🙌🏻
Its the one on top.. for motor relay.. Lower one is heater Relay.. The tapping fixed mine just now as well. Took me less than 15 minutes start to finish . Thanks for the video
Thank you! Thank you! I tapped away and it works. Our part no longer is available anywhere online. So this saved me.
Awesome!!
Thank you!! I just bought a used one (looks like same model) with this issue for $50. Fixed it within 5min AND saved $100’s. Thank you!!
Just tried this temporary fix and it is working great so far. Rhanks
You are welcome! Glad it helped!
Stuck relays were common on older CRT TVs. Helping my friend at TV shop exposed me to him lightly tapping on them with end of screwdriver. Samsung was also known for using wonky Samwha capacitors though in their plasma and early LCD power supplies.
Just did this to our dryer and it’s working😊. Sears told us the board was back ordered for at least a month and couldn’t even guarantee that. Very easy to do. I’ll update in a week and let you know if it’s still working. Thanks so much for your content!!!
3 months later is it still working?
I also have a little baby hammer which I use to repair things. The other day a bulb wasn't working and I used same approach and it worked, then my laptop display stopped working and again this hammer idea worked like a charm.
It worked like a charm - I went ahead and still ordered the part necessary but in the meantime, this workaround was the fix... You rock brother
Awesome! You too!
Thanks so much for the video!! Our dryer was down for 3 weeks! We keep going to the laundromat to dry clothes! When we saw this video, it fixed the problem unless then 15 minutes! Thanks again!
Glad I could help!
Problem solved for now! Happy wife happy life! Hubby of the year vibes! Easy fix! Who would’ve thunk! Thank you 🎉
Nice!!
Wow......... first time ever to fixed my dryer with a hammer. Sound funny but it's worked. Should I fixed my TV with a hammer as well???? LOL .... I tested and the top relay was bad. Thank you so much.
IT WORKED!!!!!!! I owe you a case of beer!!!
Yay!! Glad it helped!!!
I have a SAMSUNG DVE55M9600V/A3 dryer. As soon as I plugged it in it started to spin and wouldn't stop. The only way to stop it was to open the door. I changed the temperature sensors and the heater, and also removed all the dirt, but even then it still had the same problem. Then I cleaned each of the components on the control panel with a cleaning product for electronic boards and that's it. So far it hasn't given me any problems and works perfectly.
Thank you! This was so easy and worked perfectly. It’s been so annoying to unplug it every time I’m done drying. You saved the day!
Yay!! Glad to help!
great video and the trick worked for me!
I just did it to my dryer, tap tap and it's back working again,Thanks
Not sure which one was the problem tapped on both of them
Great job!
Just did this today and works perfectly again. Thanks!!
Yay!!!
Dude it worked! Mine wouldn't stop running and there was no heat. I couldn't get the corner one off with the white connector and only took off the middle one with the brown wires and tapped it with a piece of metal and it worked. The heat even worked. Now at least I know the heat element works. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I'll order a new board now. I figure if I have it I won't need it. Edit: Went online and the going rate for the part is $170-180. Decided to see how long this lasts and how many times I need to do it before ordering the part.
Great! Glad it helped!!
Worked for my issue too! Nice! Thanks
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Worked perfectly. Thanks!
I just try it and it works!! Thank you
Its the one on top. Iv done this many times with my garbage samsung dryer . Rebuilt it like 5 times now competely
It worked just as you said!!!! Thank you for the fix!!!!
You rock my friend!!!!!! Mines back working
Thank you!!!
Rock on!
Thank you for your video. There is 1 screw that is very hard to unscrew. It is stuck/jammed, and when I tried to unscrew it with all my effort, I stripped it. I can not take the panel off. Any suggestions? Just one screw is keeping me from trying your method. Thank you
You might shoot some WD-40 on the screw and let it sit for a while. Then clean the top of the screw with some rubbing alcohol before you try to get it out again a few hours later. A trick I learned a while back with stripped screws is to place a wide rubber band over the head of the screw and try again with your screw driver. The rubber bands acts as a filler for the stripped head and I’ve had good luck with that method.
@joshcobb4100 Thank you so much for all the tips. I extremely appreciate your work and communication. 💛
Thank you this totally just fixed mine!!
You're welcome!!
Thank you for this video. It helped me.
Glad it helped!
Worked like a charm! Thank you!!
You are my hero sir, fn worked!!
Thank you so much for this. It definitely worked
Thank you JC!! Works like a charm! Appreciate it!
You're welcome!
I did this about 8 months ago, and it worked until today. Wiggled the top black switch again today (just used my fingers to slightly wiggle back and forth) and it is once again working. I will keep this up until the wiggle doesn’t work. Reminds me to vacuum around the back, which is in no way a bad thing. Thanks so much!
Awesome work. I was able to get my dryer working!
Many thanks Josh!!! This fix resolved my problem, and much appreciated! Just gave you the 100th "Thumbs Up". :) Well done!
Hallelujah!! It worked!!! Thank you!!!
Yay!!!
Worked like a charm God bless you ❤
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Thank you! This worked for me.
another expert, not me, said it was the top one.
Smack both for good measure lol
Thank you i fixed it😊
Yay!
The top relay is the motor relay.
The bottom relay is for the heater assembly.

Great! Glad it worked!
A few taps et voila. Thank you.
Awesome!!
Thanks!
Thanks so much!!!!
its the top one btw
Contacts are stuck together in relay due to heat N age it happens just unstick it by tapping i have same baby hammer lol it works it tight spots
My dryer is not heating does this work for that by tapping the little box
No, it doesn’t have anything to do with whether it heats or not.
@joshcobb4100 . Okay thank you. By any chance you know how to fix the heat in the dryer.
Omg!! Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!!
Woo-hoo! Worked for me. Thank you!
Great!!!
Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!
Much appreciated
I bought the new exact board and still has the same symptoms. Not sure what to do now.
Find a steep hill….I’ve had to do it a time or two.
Hey bro its the relay on top sir de Nada
I wonder if this will work for my dryer that won’t stop the drying cycle….i mean my dryer just doesn’t start running for no reason like this one , my dryer has to be set & once I press start no matter the amount of time I set it for it never stops….if we set the dryer for one hour & come back 12 hours later our dryer is still running & it’s piping hot.
That’s a different issue and one you would want to get fixed. Manual timer or digital?
The top. Relay switch
Did not fix my issue on to replacing the board
Darn!
Banging it with hammer fixed it man thanks
Sometimes....we get to be right lol. Glad it helped!!
Top relay
Because that Sanyou SFK-112DM relay is only partially encapsulated you could break it out and solder in a replacement relay from the top.
That would work better than replacing the entire board. If you have enough patience you can replace anything.
There are videos on removing the conformal coating as well but you would want to put it back to prevent shorts in the case moisture gets back there.
I am going to order a relay socket and wire it in so I can swap out the relay. It should be a pretty easy long-term repair.
This guy posted the Samsung relay internals so you can see how it works. ua-cam.com/video/8v-HUE0pIlk/v-deo.html
Thanks! Great tip!! 👍
how you call that part?!
So this is an ongoing problem that should be a recall ! This should be fixed by Samsung at no cost to consumer. Obviously by all the comments it’s an ongoing issue with their dryers
Spot on! 👍🏻
My question is, why doesn't Samsung replace them at no charge, it's their fault
If the dryer is more than one year old it's out of warranty.
Samsung doesn't care
it's the black wired relay
Yup sure is
I was scared to whack it hard but then i see you pull out a hammer and doing it. Seems i didnt whack it hard enough. 😅 thx for your help
Thanks so much! It worked!
It did not fix my problem
Worked like a charm!! Thanks!!
Thank you!!!!
