Great video, I am first time EC-er myself, I already teached my mum and my husband how to offer the potty to our baby. I started EC at 3 weeks old because I was recovering from birth. EC is also very good at preventing colics and nappy rash. In my case I didn't buy a top hat potty (but I am planning to buy one soon), I am using a silicone insert from potette travelling potty, it is softer when positioning baby, however because it is soft material you have to be extra cautious. Happy to see EC spreading and more parents comes to practicing EC, like when there was no diaper what parents did? Yes they may have been used cloths but still it was difficult to wash by hand and let them dry, especially in the winter! Looks really natural and healthy to me to practice EC. 🎉
This video is really helpful, and shows EC as such a simple but effective method. I love how you openly shared when you use, what it looks like, and how often you should offer the potty. I especially appreciate the demonstration with your little one, thanks for all this great info! I hope you and your family are thriving ❤
Help me understand. What is the point of doing this? What are your expectations? He's still not going to be able to use the toilet independently until he can walk anyway.
When my oldest daughter was a few months old her face turned red when she was pooping. I thought "how silly to watch her go in her diaper" so I put her on the potty. I did this every time I saw that little red face. I also put her on the potty before her bath in hope of catching it in the potty instead of the bathtub. I didn't do this with peeing though as I had never heard of EC. I just wanted to avoid a poopy diaper. However she was out of diapers by her second birthday as were her two younger sisters. I think that's pretty good as so many children are still in daytime diapers at three and even four years old.
I cannot see cleaning a baby bottom with the same bowl in which he just pooped in. It was just rinsed with water. Not sanitary at all to me. We would not put a cloth in the toilet to rinse ourselves. Mom needs to wash her hands before touching baby. Not trying to be negative to nice people, but newborns are very sensitive to infection and sanitation is important.
I don’t think we need to see the poo ,we believe you that he pooped…ahh some soap on moms hands before touching the babies head is always sweet smelling and good for poop hands js very cute baby❤
The baby had a bowel movement while eating, not that unusual as any parent can tell you. Basic anatomy: The act of eating/ digesting foood starts peristaltic waves in the human digestive system which stimulate bowel movements.

Amazing, so intuitive and healthy - elimination communication 💕👌
Thank you Fiona! 😊
Excellent idea brilliant!
So cute how you're having him pretending to be walking to the bathroom in the beginning. So adorable!
Pretending? He walked all by himself 🤪
This is so helpful thank you. What waterproof bed pad is that? Please are you able to provide a link?
Thank you
Your Welcome! I think we got it on Etsy. No link sorry.
We have a video on all the products that we use. Maybe that might be helpful 😉

Thanks for this video. Where did you order your Top hat potty? It looks different (colour) than the ones I've seen.
Thanks for watching! We got it as a gift from our friend in the UK. I think she purchased it in the Uk. I'll try and find out where she bought it ;)
I was really curious about it too 🧐
From what age can I nurse the baby on the potty?
We started with the potty after about two week.
Is that the adjustable size reusable nappy or a newborn size?
Adjustable 👋

🤷♀️the parents looks very proper. They do it very well ❤❤
Do you tell everyone what they should be doing ??? 😂
Did you know he was going to pee or did you let him finish going once he started peeing on the sheet?
We just weren't quick enough to get him onto the potty straight away when we took the nappy off. We were still learning his cues.
