A year ago during summer I tried the first tip on my 3 year old and it was useless, she would acknowledge the wetness but just didn't mind. One year later she doesn't mind being soiled and resists changing.
My oldest is just about to turn 4 and he has been passionately against potty training, to the point where he cries whenever we mention the potty or getting rid of his diaper. Then last week he said he didn't want to wear a diaper anymore and walked into the bathroom. I took it off and he leaned in and started weeing. Now (other than when he's sleeping) he won't have anything to do with a diaper and has used the toilet every time. He even made it through a long car ride with no issues. Kids are wild, man.
Kids are wild! Lol my boy turned 3 in May and we’ve been trying or attempting potty training since he turned 2. Each time has failed. This weekend so far has been successful! He’s doing extremely well!
@@brush412 My GP had 5 (!!) boys and she flat out tells parents not to even start until their boys are at least 3 unless they ask to use the potty. It's just too stressful for everyone involved, lmao!
I’ve potty trained 4 kids. My oldest daughter is 16 years old. Now I’m trying to potty train my 2 year old twins (all the other kids were much younger when we trained) and it feels like I’m having to relearn everything! No idea how it was so easy all the other times, these girls are giving me a run for my money!
Hi there My daughter is 4 years old and has speech delay still she doesn't go to the toilet when she needs to do wee . but she used to go to the tub . I am trying to train her go to toilet rather than going to tub. but it doesn't work all the time pls give me hint to train her toiled instead of toilet tub. thanks
A little encouragement for parents struggling with potty training, not every kid will get it in a few days or even a few weeks. With my first, we tried 3 separate times, starting shortly after she turned 2 and the last being when she was about 4 and finally had success. The underwear in the pull up was a game changer for us. It was something I came up with independently and passed along to a lot of my friends. I'm glad other people have discovered the trick!
@ninahmuhsen2659 in my experience, the potty accident will go through the undies but will be absorbed by the pullup (not sure if that's the same as training pants?). But it helps them understand the session without the mess.
@@annaa3670 she's been delayed in a lot of things. We've learned as she's gotten older that she has a really weak bladder, so you just have to roll with it. Everybody gets it at their own pace. My son, 18 months old, is already showing interest. It's not a competition.
@@annaa3670no its not as long as he succeeded better late than never. My son turned 3 and still not potty trained. Im still learning and trying, we will get there today or in two years who cares 😅
My oldest will be 2 next month, and I'm due with another baby next month. I'm not even going to try potty training amidst the newborn stage, but I want to be prepared for when the time does come. Thank you!
I just read that your an OT! I'm an OTA! Thank you so much for these potty training videos. My 2 year old is ready to potty train, but I am not! I'm so nervous!! But these videos are not only helpful but encouraging! From a fellow OT practioner, thank you!
Hi @Kim B toilet training can be a lot to get around as a parent. Hopefully these tips help make it a smoother process. Hope your loving being an OTA. I love being an OT. So nice to help people !
I just gotta say you did it again. I was skeptical about this video. potty training is very daunting mostly because of the mess and stuff. I followed this video step by step. I potty trained my daughter is less than a week. Now she uses the potty for every bathroom break including pooping (which was difficult for her at first). This video is definitely a game changer. Thank you so much Emma.
Thanks so much for this video!!! My kid is 3, and she was still refusing tô sit on the toillet to poop. I used the gradual approach that you teach and it worked great!!! Thanks again
Underwear under a nappy is so smart!!! I still have about 6 months before potty training but I'm trying to educate myself before that time comes. I want to be ready when she is! I've watched your videos since before I even had my baby a year ago. From the infant reflexes to starting solids- your videos have helped me so tremendously when we reach these new milestones. I so appreciate you helping me understand my baby :)
hello how are u hope u doing well.i watch ur videos regularly but i have a request kindly make a full video on nutrition requirements for baby 2-3 years kindly kindly make videos on it i will be waiting for it
Thanks! My daughter is 22 months old but just recently she started saying she wants to poo before doing so. We have a potty but she has never do it IN the potty, lol. I think she's not 100% ready yet but I want to try next month
This is the best video I have seen on potty training - so many great ideas and tips. It’s taking my child some time to catch on but I think some of these things can help.
What if your child was nearly completely potty trained and then your mother in law steps in, asks the child every two minutes if it wants to go to the toilet and yells at least 100x per day: HE IS GOING TO POOP!!! HE WANTS TO POOP!!!“ and voila: your child is back again and hides behind the sofa to poop in the diaper… 😠
Give grace to her... she's just excited and I'm sure she definitely didn't want him to go backwards. ❤ We all were taught definitely my mother was just like that, but I know she was just trying to help and excited when he would go. May God bless you and your family, I pray his progress continues to move forward.
You are amazing amazing amazing!!!! Thank you for such great advice which is super helpful! While I was watching I realized I made some mistakes you mentioned in potty training of my 2 yo, and now that I know exactly how to do it, I’ll definitely try your advice! Thank you again, some young moms like me don’t know everything and I’m sure this video helped a looot of other mamas too!
You've been my guru ever since I got pregnant- from Toothbrush usage, to introducing solids, choosing high chair and now potty training! My boy was showing readiness at 15 to 18 months, "pretend" wiping himself..but we were going through alot of changes and I chickened! Now he is 26 months old- he is ready because he knows what's toilet meant for, he knows difference between blue line/yellow line and even indicates when he wets the diaper. But he refusessssss to use the toilet. Even says "I don't like it". I've tried different configurations, followed everything from all your videos but I don't know what to do now. This week we are taking a break :( Please help 🙏
Hi Emma, thanks for the amazing tips. My 20 months baby goes to the toilet when needed and also is in briefs when awake. However he is in his nappy when asleep. How do we train him during his sleep times. Thanks
I've heard that being able to not wet themselves during sleep is actually a hormonal thing, not something that can be taught. So we just have to wait for that hormone to develop. It's called antidiuretic hormone. Maybe you can night time train before then but idk
Thank you for this. I’m going to try tip #2. My eldest is 18 months old and she’s been showing signs since she was 17 months old. I was too tired to show her due to my pregnancy. I tried potty training her around 18 months but I gave up because I couldn’t watch her and my newborn at the same time. I’m going to try again in 2 weeks when my sister gets out of school for the summer and she can help look after my newborn while I potty train my eldest. She really hates wearing diapers and always wants me to show her how to do it
I'm in the exact same boat! I have a 17 month old and a 5 week old. The oldest cannot stand her diaper, but I dont have the time or energy to train her properly!
My first kid was hard, she was well into her 2s but loved wearing diapers. she complained and cried if I put anything else on her. Never wanted to even speak to me about the toilet. Freaked out when she had accidents cuz she hated the feeling of getting all wet. It was a very slow process getting her accustomed to the idea and feelings that come with the toiler. She was tough. My others were far easier.
@@kristengardner9505yeah at 16-17 months old my son started to take his diaper off as soon as he could if he didn’t have pants on. I have to make sure he had pants/sleeper on 24/7. He also runs away once I take his diaper off and I try to put a new one on. But every time I put him on the toilet with an insert he would cry. He’s now almost 18 months and I just got a “toddler potty” and he seems okay on it and will sit on it for 5 minutes. He hasn’t gone in it yet but I haven’t been the best at putting him on every 2 hours
The information about poos in the potty is essential! My 3 and 1/2-year-old has been completely potty trained going by herself wiping pulling up her underwear, washing her hands except when it comes to pooping! I really buckled down and took her pull-ups. As soon as she was awake we were going to potty and right before bed she was going potty Aunt. It took us a solid 2 weeks to get her comfortable to finally go
Omg Emma I have been watching you since your very first vid and your vids are always timed perfectly with my bubbas development! Your advice has always been spot on, and I do definitely think the reason my bubba started walking at 11 months ☺️ I just wanted to say how great the new animations look!!! You put so much effort in your super informative videos & I just wanted to say thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi @MS148 thank you so much for your lovely message! It is so nice to hear that these videos have helped you one your parenting journey. Also love that you lii oh be the new animations!
@@EmmaHubbard your videos have been so helpful in my friends attempts to toilet train her granddaughter. several of her friends were shaming her granddaughter when she didn't make it to the toilet in time😢 we watched your video together, and she realized that was having a very negative effect. now, she's saying We'll Try Again Next Time, and cleaning up in the bathroom only. she also learned Not to attempt toilet training shortly after they moved, and her granddaughter had not only a new house to deal with, but also a new daycare. things are going much more smoothly now. thank you, Emma. you're the Best. 💖🌹🌹💖
I followed all of your tips on potty training my 17 month old and we are on day 3. I have been reading him the "Potty" book by Leslie Patricelli and he loves the book, he asks for it everytime we are at the toilet. What happened though that is quite funny is that he began saying "popo" for every bodily function that he has, whether it's pee, poo, burps, or farts. So everytime he says "popo" I run to the toilet to find out he just needed to burp lol.
Man this is hard! My daughter is 18 mo. I started potty training her at 17 mo. She picked it up fairly easily, but it helped that she was regular so I could tell when it was time to go. She even got to the point of standing by the potty and saying poo to let me know. Then the flu bug hit my household and we didn't do much of anything. We got better but now it's like she forgot everything and is hiding sometimes to go now. I'm back in school and it's impossible to watch her how I want. It's discouraging. Thanks for the video!
Saying oh no better luck next time when accidents happen helps with my toddlers and cheering and dancing when they go in the potty made potty training go so much faster
Do you think being in full time preschool or daycare delays the toilet training process? I work as a teaching assistant at a preschool in the two year old class and I only have 45 minutes to get 18 2 year olds through the morning bathroom routine. I feel like I'm on a racing pit crew. They're all in various stages of training. I'm always in a rush. I can't put them on the toilet unless I'm like 99% sure that they'll do something and most of the time I just end up putting on a diaper just because I don't have the time to make them sit. And they can't wear underwear unless we really think they're ready because I don't have time to be cleaning up accidents all the time. I don't think it's right. I wish I had either more time or less kids in my class. What do you think?
There should be FAR fewer children in your class. 2 year olds still need so much individual attention. From my moms experience with her preschoolers and my experience with my many children (many were babies and toddlers staying at home with me at once) I cant imagine doing more than 4 at any one time. They simply will not have enough care like that. I would never send my child somewhere where they would get neglected like this.
@@adararelgnel2695 Yeah, and this is an upscale private school with lots of rich families, too. I don't think they realize what really goes on in that classroom. I've since left that job. I thought I'd be better off at an upscale, privately owned school, so I don't even want to imagine how it is at the chain places.
Hi Holly! Staying dry overnight is a skill which can take a child a little longer to learn. In fact bedwetting is considered normal until the age of 6. Given it can take a little longer for a child to learn this skill I recommend letting them continue wearing a nappy overnight and during naps. What you will notice is your little one wakes with a dry nappy and at this point you can try removing it.
I have been watching all of your videos ever since I got pregnant and my baby is now 2. Your videos have been soooo helpful and I have followed your advice to the tea. Thank you so so so much !
Hi, Emma, thanks for the video! My 2.5 year old shows all the signs of readiness but with a baby around sometimes I can’t get the toddler to the bathroom right when needed. How did you handle meeting the needs of training when you had a second kid who needed to nurse/needs to nap/etc?
It can be really tricky to do this. Some people find it is best to wait until the baby is a little older, because as you said it can be very challenging to be responsive to the toileting cues when you have a baby as well. When your bub is older, generally their routine becomes a bit more set and they can wait for a brief period while you help your toddler go to the toilet.
@@EmmaHubbard thanks! Do you think by waiting I may miss a window of opportunity though? Or does this readiness generally just stay on hold…? I hope that question makes sense.
I’m going through this same thing too but I’m having my sister stay with me for 2-3 days so she can help with my newborn while I do this. I may also have my mom try to help as well for day 3.
@@s1e11i it shouldn’t have any impact on readiness. It’s best to do it when you can be consistent with the toilet training. Waiting a few months or weeks will be fine.
Having them wear the underwear inside the diapers is the top tier advice I needed. I live in an apartment with almost all carpet so I was trying to figure out how to handle the upcoming potty training!
We use cloth diapers. I imagine that will aid in the feeling of the wet and dirty sensations, but do you think that will change the process at all? I’m trying to figure out if I should buy anything special for new big boy pants for him and what he should wear at night. Would wearing a cloth diaper at night be okay, or should I stick with things he could pull up and down for himself? Thanks for any advice!
Hi Emma, I love your videos, I’ve been watching them since my boy was a newborn. He’s now 16months and just recently starting crying as soon as I put him in the bath, he used to love bath time now its so traumatic for all of us. From what I’ve read this can happen between 1-2yrs old. I know its not related to this video but any advice would be so much appreciated! Cheers Penny
Hey love, I struggled with that too with my daughter, my advice to you is to be calm. Maybe adding music that your baby likes, singing to her and playing with her, adding bath toys can slowly get her comfortable again :) ! Good luck
What worked for me is I got on my bathing suits and got in with my child and gradually tried to be out of the tub until my child was fine and loves to splash around bath toys helps too
My daughter is 2.5 and it’s been a month since we had a successful potty training journey I did all your tips and it’s been great Thanks a lot . But now I need a guideline for the nap and night time when and how do I need to stop the diaper completely
What do you recommend for parents whose toddlers possibly have a negative association with the toilet? We are in the midst of potty training because her daycare decided to start without us actually agreeing to it. She alternates between going dry for 1 hour to 2 and peeing every 20 minutes. I don't think she's ready but our hands have been forced.
So my son is 2 about to be 3 in July and I was wondering is it too early to start potty training or should I start now? I've tried a few times but having a hard time getting him to tell me when he needs to go
I downloaded your guide, but the links for the recommended products do not open. Can you edit the guide to be similar to your baby feeding guide where you list the name of the products so I can directly do an internet search for each item? What I really want is the name of the wooden foot stool you recommend.
Hi Emma, thanks for the helpful video ❤. Do you have any suggestions regarding correcting their fear? My daughter was doing pretty well but then my husband freaked out a few times when she pooped and it scared her. Now she would refuse to use the potty or tell us that she needs to pee/poo 😔
Can you do this with a non-verbal toddler? My just turned 2 year old son is speech delayed so we rely on non-verbal gestures which are sometimes easy to miss. He shows awareness that he has done a poo by running to me, but when I try to change him, he'll resist.
Mine was too, so I waited till he was 3 to start potty training. Took us just 3 days. He slept throughout the night with no diaper on the 3rd day and didn't wet his bed. He's been sleeping without diaper since and never wet his bed. Give your child time and try again. Maybe 2 is too early for him. Goodluck
Hi my sons (10 months old) one eye has been watering sometimes since a month . Doctor suggested to do nose massage . But yet again I read our nose massage can change the shape of the nose as it’s still forming . Please suggest
Hi Manasa, unfortunately this is outside my area of expertise. Perhaps best to discuss your concerns about nose massage with your doctor to see if it’s something you need to worry about 🙂
Do you have advice on dealing with encopresis and enuresis? I have had 4 in row deal with this and still struggle with a few. 😱 we’ve tried everything…we do see drs about it. It’s such a vicious cycle.
What a fantastic and comprehensive video, full of excellent tips and tricks and helpful information. I'm very grateful that you took the time and energy and effort into putting this video together. Many Many thanks!!!!!!
So in-depth! I truly appreciate your attention to descriptive language as an early childhood music educator. I am about to get into this phase but my son is a cardiac baby and still wears size 3 diapers. I tried finding a small potty but it is still too big for his tiny butt. Should I wait until he is 3 instead? He is really good at taking instructions and unfortunately with the constipation drama we have had in the past, sometimes he is most comfortable doing it lying on the change table if it is a lot. How do I transition now into training with such a tiny body that consumes a lot because of high calorie demands?
Not really. We can help families set up an inviting bathroom and make sure the toilet set up is ideal (so the child’s knees are above their hips when they are sitting on the toilet). We can also help to identify strategies if sensory preferences are stopping a child from using the toilet which is leading to constipation. Also if the child is a picky eater due to sensory preferences we can also work on that. But otherwise I would encourage the family to link in with the GP and dietician regarding diet and medicine options to manage/resolve the constipation.
Sorry about that! I'd updated it in the description but forgot to update that comment. Here's the updated link: brightestbeginning.com/bb_optin/toileting-essentials-guide/
So my 7 month old is already (in some ways) potty trained as he has already figured out what it feels like to need to pee/poop and can warn us about this when he is taking a bath or being dried off after as he will bring his hands down there, make a specific face and start to fuss... I will then rush to get his diaper on him and then after he will go in it. He also pees/poops when I tell him he is about to get a bath... he hates making his bathwater "dirty". He peed once when he was very young and he started to cry so we changed out the water and then he was happy again... he also as a newborn would lift his mouth to have it wiped off with the burp cloth after eating and now wipes his mouth himself after feeding. I don't think this is very normal but my mother says my sister was this way and had basically completely potty trained herself before one... with a child like this, when do you start potty training them?
It really depends. If you want to start now you can do elimination communication. They will obviously still require your help to put the nappy on or place them on an infant potty until they are a lot older. So essentially you would be toilet timing your infant.
My daughter is 2 y.o. and she's excited about using the toilet and toilet paper. So far, we've done everything (sit, flush, wipe, hand washing) except peeing. My main issue is timing.
Hi, if my toddler is 2.5y but still not speaking, is it possible to train him? I’m training him for 3 weeks now, and he understands that he need to go to the potty but when he have accidents he doesn’t bother ant he don’t tell us when he need to go. Also when he is with pants he will not go by himself and he will do wee and poo in the pant, but when he is without nothing he will go by himself. Ohhh that’s so hard.
My baby just turned 1yr but is the size of a two year old. He wears size 2-3 clothes, started walking at 9mnths and has 10 teeth. He also bends down when he needs to poo and does adult poos ( does not stain the diaper, poop is solid in a lump). In such a case how do you know whether he requires potty training? Confused about whether to look at milestones for 1 yr or for 2 because of his size and advance. Please help
Hi Emma! First, thank you for always producing such practical, logical, parenting guidance for your community. I've been watching your videos since I was 6 months pregnant and your channel is one of my go-tos for every new mom-question and milestone. A question for you after watching this video: I'm having trouble discerning if my 17mo old is "ready" or not for potty training. On the one hand: he's become very interested in the toilet and going to the bathroom in the last few weeks. He watches me and say "pee poo" while I sit on the toilet (he has very high verbal) and likes to flush it. He will also put one of his toys on the (closed) lid and say "pee", then flush when I say "all done." Yesterday, he climbed up to sit on the closed lid himself and said "pee". When I checked his diaper, it was wet. On the other hand: he doesn't always make it over an hour between wetting diapers. Sometimes only 45min. I also worry that at 17mo even the seat and wooden stools will be too small for him. In your view, do you think it's worth trying for potty training now? Or would you recommend waiting until he's closer to 2yrs despite all the interest and understanding he SEEMS to be showing at the moment? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
What's your advice for what to do during nap times / bed times while the child is asleep? I'm assuming the child will still have to wear diapers during this time while they're asleep...?
My toddler is 25 months, she's showing signs of curiosity about the toilet but I brought out the training pants but she's point blank refusing to go to the bathroom at all now. I've kept the Pants on with a nappy on top, it's the first day today so it's too soon to think anything of it, but any advice for a child who refuses the idea of using the toilet? Thank you x
hi Emma, thanks for the informative video. could you also give some tips on how to break sleep association with breastfeeding? I have a one yr nine months old and struggling to break the association.
Thanks! If your little one is able to stay dry for 1 to 2 hours and not constipated then you can definitely start now. Just make sure you have a few days (at home) to really focus on potty training
Any tips for a 17 month old that can squat and ride around on toys but can't sit. We have a small baby sized chair for him but he just falls face forward every time. Same thing with the potty he is terrified of it.
Hi Emma, do you know anything about elimination communication? My baby is almost 6 months and trying for a second baby, and hoping I won’t need to change diapers of two kids
My daughter has been constipated almost every time for months. I'm really doing everything for but nothing is showing constant results. I really am struggling for her to be trained cuz I have a new born now. Any suggestion?
Hi my son is possibly autistic(in the process of getting him tested) he’s non verbal I tired to do it when he was two but he would look at me and then get up so I’m gonna try again he just turn three any tips
Praise him in every step. Good job sitting, good job being patient, I like the way you're listening, ,,, Play a kid song, preferably a potty 1 while he's sitting too. 🤷🏻♀️ That's what they teach us at work & it seems to work. I don't put it in the group chat tho but I send parents home notes & I praise them personally. I do it w/ my own but she's not autistic. Works w/ her too tho. Till it involves her standing up to the sink to wash her hands & she looks disinterested sounding like I'm not doing all that. I'm gonna hafta start using" nice calm body on her " she too likes to flop & has tendencies if distuption & aggression
hi Emma, my daughter is 3 year old and has been using toilet for peeing for over a year but for potty she wants only a diaper. otherwise , she doesn't use diaper at all, not even at night. I came here to comment that I successfully potty trained my son in less than 3 days 😂😂😂😂. He is 2 years 7 months now, I know it sounds late but did try before once when he was 2 and then again when he was 2 years and 5 months old but didn’t work. From my experience I would say just wait for when ur baby is ready then it will b very easy
Potta training my 31/2 years old has been the biggest challenge for me. Sometimes when I took him the Potta, he will poop or pee in the Potta. I’ve mentioned to him several times to always communicate with my husband and I whenever it’s time to go but rather, he will hide in the corner and poop or pee in his diaper. How can we get him to communicate with us when it’s time to go?

@ninahmuhsen2659 in my experience, the potty accident will go through the undies but will be absorbed by the pullup (not sure if that's the same as training pants?). But it helps them understand the session without the mess.

Yay - so good your little one is independently using the bathroom for every poop and wee!
Great video! All mommies and daddies, grandparents, and babysitters need to watch this! Super advice!
Glad you liked it!!
Thanks so much for this video!!! My kid is 3, and she was still refusing tô sit on the toillet to poop. I used the gradual approach that you teach and it worked great!!! Thanks again
That is fantastic! Well done!👏
Yaahhh I was juuust thinking of that!!!
At the same time! When they pee on the floor they clean it, and eventually are starting to get tired of it
I watched your videos about pregnancy last year. And now here I am 😊
Wow time flies doesn’t it. Hope toilet training goes smoothly!
hello how are u hope u doing well.i watch ur videos regularly but i have a request kindly make a full video on nutrition requirements for baby 2-3 years kindly kindly make videos on it i will be waiting for it
I tried, it works. Thank you
Great!
I’m trying now with 2 of my grand babies. Hoping for success 🙏🏽
Refer to tip #21 -tell your in laws to f-off and to leave your little one alone , and then proceed to kick them out of your house
Get a new MIL 😉
She gets one warning.
Then can f*** off until next Christmas.
Be my village or gtfo. It's already too hard.
Give grace to her... she's just excited and I'm sure she definitely didn't want him to go backwards. ❤ We all were taught definitely my mother was just like that, but I know she was just trying to help and excited when he would go. May God bless you and your family, I pray his progress continues to move forward.
I’m right there with you I wish they would stop interfering
I'm dreading this I'm having a hard time and I'm glad there's help

This week we are taking a break :(
Please help 🙏
Thank you so much your video have helped me so much when I was a new mom now my baby is 2 thank you be blessed
Glad I could help!
Could you please share tips about potty training twins? Specially when there is just one parent available during weekends.
She really hates wearing diapers and always wants me to show her how to do it
Good idea to wait until you have some help as it can been really hard with a newborn and a toddler. Hopefully it goes well!
@@EmmaHubbard your videos have been so helpful in my friends attempts to toilet train her granddaughter. several of her friends were shaming her granddaughter when she didn't make it to the toilet in time😢 we watched your video together, and she realized that was having a very negative effect. now, she's saying We'll Try Again Next Time, and cleaning up in the bathroom only. she also learned Not to attempt toilet training shortly after they moved, and her granddaughter had not only a new house to deal with, but also a new daycare. things are going much more smoothly now. thank you, Emma. you're the Best.

i love the tips i am getting him to sit on the potty but i gotta start being more patient about this
It does take time!
How many days did it take for you?
Man this is hard! My daughter is 18 mo. I started potty training her at 17 mo. She picked it up fairly easily, but it helped that she was regular so I could tell when it was time to go. She even got to the point of standing by the potty and saying poo to let me know. Then the flu bug hit my household and we didn't do much of anything. We got better but now it's like she forgot everything and is hiding sometimes to go now. I'm back in school and it's impossible to watch her how I want. It's discouraging. Thanks for the video!
It can be really hard. Hopefully now that everyone is well again potty training is going well again.
Hello. I work for a school district and I was wondering if I can share your videos and tips, or parts of it with our Pre-K families.
Saying oh no better luck next time when accidents happen helps with my toddlers and cheering and dancing when they go in the potty made potty training go so much faster
Hey seen so many videos saying to start potty training early, what's the best age for Potty training
Hi Emma do you have any tips on how potty train during the night?? Thank you
Yep my Mum, her family believed you must start at 3 months of age. Placing infants on a “ potty”! Thank you England!
Thanx Emma, i think yr most helpful tip is ensuring yr child is ready to be toilet trained.Thays definitely the key.Cheers
My toddler is 1 yr 4months and she just did Poot in the toilet. Hopefully I can train her now then later 🙏♥️
Hi Emma, just curious about beginning of toilet training night time and naps do they still wear a nappy?
Great info!
Is there a particular brand you recommend for the family style seat?
As a first time mama I needed this thank you Emma!
You’re welcome!
@@s1e11i I've heard 20-30 months is best. And not to go past 36 months. Generally speaking
I always make the mistake "do you have to go potty?" She's like NOPE! 😂

Brilliant
Good luck
What worked for me is I got on my bathing suits and got in with my child and gradually tried to be out of the tub until my child was fine and loves to splash around bath toys helps too
Thanks for advice
My daughter is 2.5 and it’s been a month since we had a successful potty training journey I did all your tips and it’s been great Thanks a lot . But now I need a guideline for the nap and night time when and how do I need to stop the diaper completely
This is all so helpful but I assume wearing a pull-up at night time or a diaper/nappy? Or use a bed pad with training pants?
What do you think about this early potty training. I've seen parents' "potty training " their 2 month old babies, or just under 10 months
curious as well
Hi. What exactly or mostly month of a toddler to train for potty?
Thanks Emma
No worries at all!
I've tried a few times but having a hard time getting him to tell me when he needs to go
I trained my two daughters within a week 35 and 28 years ago. Never had YT or any online media platforms in those days.
Less distractions, better quality time, more in tune with reality.

My son just turned 2 and I’m struggling with this as well. He’s speech delayed. So I’m stressed out.

How do I know if child is running the spot?
Thanks
Welcome
Is there anything we can do as occupational therapists to help w. constipation?
But otherwise I would encourage the family to link in with the GP and dietician regarding diet and medicine options to manage/resolve the constipation.

hi, Emma what about when the child is independent to go but when they are going to the potty they aren't doing their business. How can we help them?
I think kids like this potty train themselves lol
It really depends. If you want to start now you can do elimination communication. They will obviously still require your help to put the nappy on or place them on an infant potty until they are a lot older. So essentially you would be toilet timing your infant.
@@EmmaHubbard interesting. I will look into that thank you!
My daughter is 2 y.o. and she's excited about using the toilet and toilet paper. So far, we've done everything (sit, flush, wipe, hand washing) except peeing. My main issue is timing.
So, so informative.
Please help
Thanks.
It’s my pleasure!
Silly question. What is a “nappy”? Is that just a training diaper or training underwear? Here in the US I am not familiar with that term.
Diaper 🙂
It worked😊
Thanks Emma....🎉
You’re welcome 😊
Is it advisable to toilet train before 1year?
Go for it! The Chinese start potty training with newborns. Little ones are more capable than we give credit...

It can be a little different. So hopefully the tips in this video help!
Thank you x
Thanks 👍
