Help Me: Classic blues by Sonny Boy Williamson, very minor sounding and very groovy. Simply there’s a bass riff 1 b3 4 over I IV and V chords, which makes it sound so bluesy. This song has a lot of texture, dynamics and strong note attacks. It has signature Sonny Boy licks using repetitive notes by constantly switching blow and draw bend - Ab Bb (-3’ 4) and similar licks. There are short chords chops in between singing lines that you’ll have to play strong and trebly. - Навчання та стиль

I have seen Tomlin Leckie, Ronnie Shellist, and Will Wilde cover this song, and these guys are phenomenal. Alex, your version is not only the best but is very much in line with the original.

I use Hot Metal harps and even I can pick up most of it. Nice to be here.
Hot Metal gives good sound (and they are cheap) but they don't always work right. If you have the patience and few sharp instruments ... but I don't like to bother the neighbours. Sometimes in the morning maybe it's okay to mess with them.
Just wondering what kind of harps you use to get that great sound.
Repeat, great tone control and it looks like you have the other things I have always lacked. Namely to stay withing the block (The whole chord structure) which I find extremely difficult because drawing in air all the time kinda drowns me. Brain stops thinking as well as it should. That is the most difficult.

Thanks Alex. As everyone else says. Amazing lesson! It sounds like he plays a different chord when backing shifts to C but it doesn't seem to be 123 blow. Maybe it is but it's distorting because of the way he hits the notes....

This is a brilliant tutorial! What key harmonica is the original song played on? My A harp sounds higher. 🤔
How do you play the trills with that sound? Can never get my tone to immitate as well as the original song . Even perfectly in tune it just sounds different

Yes, Bb harp because the song is in Fm What isn’t mentioned is that you should avoid the draw 3, only draw 3 with a bend or it sounds “wrong” because the tune is a minor key

"Help Me" was a clear rip following the success of "Green Onions," but just sounds like the original, better in every way, even if it wasn't chronologically earlier. Of course, there's "One Way Out," again sounding better than the Allman Brothers adequate rock n' roll cover. Bless the Who, for crediting "Eyesight to the Blind" to him on the Tommy album, and screw Zeppelin for copying an entire verse of "Bring It on Home" without any credit at all; pompous glam boys.
