Your videos are among the best and best explained and founded on the web. I am a 47-year-old player who played from 4 to 15 years old, then I quit and resumed at 26 until 30 and quit. I haven't played a racket for almost 18 years and I took up two months ago with a friend who lent me a 300 gr babolat puree drive and injured my posterior ulnar tendon. I'm better now and I can't decide between the head gravity s because of my age or the mp. And to avoid injury. I am a player of learned as a child, semi western grip and two-handed backhand. Really appreciate the comparison of how powerful the racket is compared to other brands' lines. The part where you say the Babolat Pure Strike is more comfortable was confusing, though, since the RA rating for it is so much higher than that for the Gravity MP. I guess a racket with an RA of 62 can still be uncomfortable compared to one at 69 due to other factors we can't see.
Yes the stiffness is not the only thing to take into consideration for comfort.
I tested this one also and I kinda really liked the feel, but the huge problem was the weight when playing against big hitters... u get pushed around way too easy... normally I don't like 18x20 pattern but when I tried the 10 gram heavier Tour version it felt amazing.. it's more stable, you have a really soft feel at impact and its really forgiving... highly recommend checking it out, it's one of the best racquets i've played in a while... there was absolute no weakness...
But the Tour is 18x20 while the MP is 16x20. How would you compare the spin potential?
@@vanodne Sure the 16x20 will offer a bit more spin, but the difference is very marginal. As for 18x20 and Spin, it all depends on your technique how much spin u can create. If u feel like ur top spin with open string rackets are often way too short then I highly recommend trying out an 18x20, on a 100 sq head u get still good amounts of spin...
Nice review! Thank you. I ended up buying one of these racquets (I'm mid 40's but covid lockdown lead me to re-discover my love of tennis from teen years. Anyway, I really like playing with the Graphene Gravity MP. It's good for spinning the ball. Nice for volleys too. Not as powerful as other racquets but it has great control. Thanks.

Thank you for your comment. For a sporty beginner it could be ok, the racquet is rather versatile. You also have the lighter version in 285 g.
Great video love the break down if comparison to other rackets. This racket reminds me of my Speed Rev Pro. Love that racket!!! The feel the amazing touch and placement I had with this racket. I could deflect half volleys all day back at my opponents using there own power. It did lack the pace. So I switched to the Speed 360 MP. Got the punch now,.. but lost my touch shots. For now I’m using my Rev Pro for doubles play cuz it compliments my athletic play and serve & volley strategy. I’m curious about this racket. I might demo this soon.
Yes the Gravity is not very powerful, players must be careful with that.
you can generate your own power definetely dont matter what rackuet you use💣💣💣
I wish it could be the case. It's true on my backhand, a bit harder on the forehand and definitely a big problem on my serve.

Another great review. Really like the humour you put in too. Did you switch full time to the Clash 100? Do you prefer it or the Gravity MP? From the video you looked like you got more spin and control but maybe a bit less speed from the Clash on groundstrokes. How do they compare for stability on returns and at net?
Thank you ! I'll try to do more on this channel. If I grab some more subscribers it'll help me find the motivation. I don't play much that's why the Clash fits me well, not too hard to play with it. Don't know what it'd be like if I really need to hit the ball, and in fact I don't even know what I'm able to do at the max now :) I have some injuries and I must be careful. I'd have prefered the gravity in my perfect shape but that's not the case :) Anyway I expect some good things from the new Wilson Blade 98.

@@simonmitchell8131 For me it's ok. I don't feel a big difference between them in terms of stability. I felt more secure in return on powerful serves with the gravity. No fear to send the ball too far. But the Clash is more comfortable.

@@team-tennisenglish1514 Dear Jean-Pierre, one little recommendation regarding racket reviews. From a perspective of a pro (like you) everything is clear when you review racket one by one, but when an amateur (like me or like 95% of your visitors) watches a single racket review it is even more confusing. Wilson, Babolat and Heat etc. don't make bad rackets, they are just slightly different. What is a best format of racket review is to review a whole set of rackets. The best example - ua-cam.com/video/QJW7r99n4Lk/v-deo.html I know that it is much harder because you need so many rackets strung with same string and same tension, but this kind of review will be truly informative and useful. Actually, I don't see a need to show you (or anyone else) actually playing with different rackets - this gives very small to none actual useful information, because your level of play is fantastic and if you play with a snow shovel you would still play great. :) What we (amateurs, beginners) need is to understand what will suit best to our game, our level of play, physical condition etc. For example - I am looking now for something ~300grams and relatively soft. I am torn between Speed MP and Gravity MP. I've read your comments that Speed MP is probably a better choice than Gravity, but why? Head right now has 7 rackets in MP line (maybe, we should take Prestige away because it is not really from this line) and it is almost impossible for an amateur to decide. Thank you for reading long comment. One more little note - you create your videos for us (your viewers) so you should think like us and ask us what are our needs. :) Also, a video about selecting a racket for an amateur would be greatly interesting. I am looking for a new racquet and maybe you could help me out. I fell in love with the gravity MP testing it the other day, I am an agressive player who used to compete with a big swing forehand with semi western grip, one handed backhand very solid but not powerful compared to my forehand and a powerful flat first serve but lacking at my second serve.
After testing it, everything was perfect but playing against heavy hitters I felt I had to put a lot of effort and power to my swings to keep up and not have my balls falling too short.
What would you think of maybe going for the tour version of the gravity, the wilson blade 98 16x19 or maybe the pure strike 100 or 16x19?

Good question ! I'd like a mix of both. The Gravity with the comfort of the Pure Strike. If I must choose, I think it'll be the gravity.

Great review as always! Big fan of your reviews! I play with the Prince TExtreme Tour 100P 18x20 and I'm curious about the Head Gravity Tour and Pro, have you tryed out any of those?
Haven't tried these versions. I guess there'll be a better access to top spin, maybe more power. I guess the comfort won't be better than the Prince which is very nice on that point.

Would you think that your forehand and serve power issue could be resolved by adding a small amount of lead tape to 12 o'clock or 10 and 2? Do you think this is a good "platform" racquet for customization?

Thank you. I think the 18x20 of the tour version would be too narrowed for me. I need something more opened for my forehand and for the comfort. I've tested the Gravity S. More comfortable than the MP and I wasn't bothered by the oversize. A bit too light for me but interesting. I'm eager to test the new Blade 98 16x19 with a more neutral balance than before.

Which one you’ll suggest for intermediate level player looking for spin, power, feel and comfort between Speed MP and Gravity MP?
I'd say it's more secure to opt for the speed, more versatile than the gravity, more powerful also.

Thank you. I'd say Wilson Clash more powerful and comfortable. The gravity is for players looking for more control even if it's not too control oriented. Good access to top spin with both.

Thank you for the video! I heard a lot about its stifness, being 62, a flexible racquet. Nevertheless, the racquet has a thin frame, mostly linked to a demanding racquet. Could you clarify the difference between the 2 adjectives? (Pros and cons)
Thin goes hand in hand with low stiffness. Low stiffness lowers the power, increases the comfort even if it's more complicated than that. Wilson Clash is an exception with a low stiffness and nevertheless a good level of power. The gravity MP is a racquet for powerful players who use top spin, control and spin.. Often, top spin racquets are powerful and it's not the case with this one that combines good control and good access to top spin.
@@TeamTennisfr Perfectly understood. Now let's say that I'm not a powerful player, but I do use a lot of spin for all my baseline shots. More importantly, I do like the feel of this racquet when I use it (more than the others). Is it a smart decision to choose this racquet over the others compensating the less power part with less tension on the stringing, added weight on the head, etc?
@@nicolasjoseph2084 The most important thing for me is that you say you like the feel when you play with it. Nothing is more important than good tests, long enough. Yes you can partly grab some more power lowering the tension, it all depends on the amount you need. If it's a bit, it might be ok. Lead tape at the head or contact zone why not, it'll increase the swingweight. Can help for the power if you can manoeuver, if not, could be the opposite. Once again, testing is the way to remove doubts.
@@TeamTennisfr Thank you for your responses. A lot of coaches here in Chile question the choosing of this type of racquets because of the risk of injury, that's why I wanted to investigate further more.
@@nicolasjoseph2084 The goal is to choose a racquet that fits the player, level, age, previous injuries, style of play.. I would personnaly not choose this racquet. I'd lack power, comfort and I'd risk injury. Other players will perfectly like it because younger, more trained, and so on..

How does this compare to yonex ezone 98? I am currently demoing the yonex ezone 98 and i like its control, comfort and maneuverability but a bit less power. Im going to try this next.
Gravity MP easier to swing, better access to top spin, maybe a bit more power. Less comfort for me.
How does this compare to the Gravity Pro? Currently using a Head Radical Pro.
Haven't tried the pro but it'll be more difficult, denser string pattern => more control, less spin. Heavier also.
What did you think about the S model in comparison? Looking at both mp and S to replace my Volkl super g 10 295 with 315 SW. Having arm issues with heavy racquets
Much more comfortable in my opinion than the MP, and more powerful even if a bit control oriented. I could easely swing the racket despite its head size.

I'd say the Gravity is clearly less powerful. Less comforatble also, I felt more vibrations. Designed for more agressive players than the Clash. Agressive players might lack control with the Clash if they really put power without spin.

I also feel that the Gravity MP is not quite stable while returning big serves, the frame twists on contact with a big powerful serve. Is it the same with the Clash 100?
@@Shankar-Bhaskar Well, a bit less because the beam width is thicker but it remains a rather light racquet so never as stable as heavier.

Hi I demoed this racquet (strung with Head Hawk Touch 17 gauge) and enjoyed it so much i ended up purchasing it. However I had it strung with a hybrid of Head Hawk Touch 17 and Head Velocity multifilament and it feels terribly stiff and has no power whatsoever. It was strung at the same tension as the demo as well. Is there a break in period for these strings? Thanks a bunch
With time, strings will loosen a bit but maybe you should have used the exact same srings as the demo if it fitted you well. For some players, multi reduce power. I personnaly hate multi, big lack of power because my top spin is like completely absorbed.

Tour 100P more comfortable but better access to top spin with the gravity and more power.

The Tour 100 offers more spins and more ball depth than the Tour 100P, with no significant control gap in my opinion. Between this and the Gravity MP, which do you consider to be the best racket?

Je suis devenu prof de guitare, d’où la fibre de l’enseignant qui m’a poussé à te donner un coup de main. Mais par ailleurs tu te débrouilles super bien en anglais, ce qui n’est pas si courant en France... continue bien tu fais du super boulot je trouve!
