Tkachuk had a great game, but he, along with his teammates really, really need to stop with the obvious dives to try and draw calls. It's so brutal to watch and the refs are catching on, even calling Matthew for one of them.

McDavid is going on. When all is said and done, he is the best hockey player alive. A team that went 16-0 this year, with even one player of that caliber is the only NHL team that can pull rabbits out of hats. Scary...Great hockey, but I am afraid all bets are off now. Edmonton is going back into their building with zero expectations and Florida has become desperate.

I agree, I’m oddly optimistic that the Panthers will carry the moment into Edmonton and win in front of an opposing crowd. Commentators are Oilers fans and so are the ESPN, intermission commentators, maybe not so much PK but it’s Panthers against the world. Go Panthers, hope they snap out of it and win the cup finally.

No offense, but the 3-0 series lead wasnt representative of how close the series was. Oilers should have won game 1, but Bob stood on his head. Panthers deserved wins in games 2 and 3, and the Oilers deserved games 4 and 5. The series could easily be 3-2 Oilers.
I just want to see this go 7 games, I'd love to see what McDavid and Tkachuk will do with that type of pressure.

It feels like Oilers are simply faster on ice for Panthers to catch up, both literally and figuratively. Being new to hockey, i feel good structure can be broken with speed, but no structure can combat against speed... and if McDavid does McDavid things, I favor the Oilers to take this in 7.

They dominated play when 5 v 5. They got burned on a sh goal and taking way too many penalties. I think the refs made some bad calls, but that happens in games like this, unfortunately. They did control the 3rd period, so that's something to build on going to game 6.
Take away the shorty and it’s a 3-3 game at the end of regulation.
Then the empty net goal never happens because Bob doesn’t get pulled at the end of the game.

Of course you missed the greater point, which is that Florida should remain confident because they’re still in the driver’s seat, there’s plenty of good things to take away from game 5 into game 6, and clean up a couple uncharacteristic mistakes and it’s a completely different conversation.

Florida can't stay out of the box because they can't keep up. Slower teams take penalties because they have to be more physical and Florida takes it too far.

They have to put themselves in a better position in these games. Starting off the games with a shorthanded goal and then letting the lead balloon to 3 goals in both games. Gonna be hard to come back from that. They got this though, just need to play the way they're capable of

@@pattyglad4 yeah, the pk is truly what is saving Oilers losing games. No matter what, the 93% PK literally has saved Edmonton 7-10+ goals against them just in this series. Florida is doing well to on the PK too considering, Oilers PP is literally on another tier lvl than any nhl team. Florida is only allowing 1 goal for every 6 Powerplays. This says a lot on how good Florida's PK is. Oilers can very much win this

Panthers are not built to win 5-4 games , once Edmonton scored goal number 4 I thought the game was over and it was .. the “ shortfall comeback “ was too little too late and the damage was done .. I don't think I've ever been as angry at a game as I was here, but also McDavid is now finally looking like the player everyone says he's been in these finals unfortunately, but you cannot deny that man's talent. @@Fredphlegm Nah, they're still checking, Bennett even threw out a knee on McDavid to try and slow him down, but the biggest factor is that the refs are catching on to the dives by Florida, even calling Tkachuk for one of the 300 or so he did in game 5 alone.

He wasn't concussed in game 3, if he was then there's a bigger problem on the Panthers then losing a couple games, it's that the team and player are so completely irresponsible with a head injury that they let him keep playing. That's how I know it's not a concussion, along with the fact that it wasn't much of a hit and he was just down to try and draw a call like the cats have done on every other hit.
