Go to a shelter, get clean, stop doing drugs? No? Get out of the city.
Bite me. It's not that simple.
Billionaires double everyone's rent and then harass people when they don't pay their ridiculous prices
Sounds like Democrats
Most dont do drugs. The mental facilities were closed down during reagan and now we see how stupid that was. Many of these people CANT hold a job due to mental problems, physical disability, etc.
Funny how that only happens before election time, huh??

Advocates should open their doors to the homeless. San Franciscans are tired of them clogging up the streets and making them dangerous.
yes and we need to enforce Eisenhower's 91% marginal tax rate on the wealthy - it needs to be illegal to be rich! It makes them dangerous.
liberal white women living in the suburbs miles from them vote for the homeless.
Advocates won’t take in their causes home, they want the government to take of the homeless on tax payer’s dime.

I know how to solve this so-called homeless crisis cut off all the funding taxpayer dollars to these non-government organizations and you'll watch the homeless crisis go away
Finally about time. If anyone has a problem with this, invite them to come live with you.

they admitted it
when they get their money they go outside so they can use again because the shelters dont allow it.
Let’s get serious this time around. Adults with no accountability???. What a shame for such a beautiful historic city!😢

Is there some correlation between homelessness and just not caring to pull up your pants?

Build asylums where they can stay, and be given their drug of choice with a doctor in the loop, at least in theory. It'll be like the roach hotel, they'll go in, they won't go out (unless they're someone who wants to actually get back on their feet etc) it's far cheaper and safer than the present non-solution.

I pay for everything that I have these people get everything free for them yet they are making excuses and want to make their own rules get a job and contribute to the economy instead of taking money from the state that comes from taxpayers this people have no shame

Homeless people need to discipline themselves, and they should accept whatever the city and taxpayers kindly help them and want to help them stand up on their own feet!
Drug addicts don't have discipline, hence their addiction!

And where will they go? Please indulge me
They'll go over there.
@@A3Kr0n there where?
Some of them go into shelter, others move to another street maybe another city...the city doesn't have a lot of great options. At least by doing the sweeps, they are sanitizing the streets for normal residents. Without sweeping there is feces, urine, needles...you name it. If the city keeps putting pressure on them some of them will start to get their act together and some will leave SF. Part of the reason they have been drawn to SF is that it's a free for all. If that reputation changes it will be less of a magnet for bums.
There are plenty of open spaces in the middle of the desert. There is also plenty of help. IF they choose to accept it. They tried the nice way now it's time to start taking care of the people who are actually paying for all this crap with their tax money!!!!
They can always head south to Slab City.
Governor Newsom - Over the past 5 years California has spent $24 billion to tackle this problem and the homeless population has grown from 151,000 to 181,000. You are a smart man - see any problems with your policies? (The San Francisco Standard) (Hoodline).
Despite this significant investment, the state has faced challenges in effectively tracking the outcomes of these expenditures, leading to questions about the efficacy of the programs.
That's what California does best. Spends billions of dollars and then creates auditors to tell the people that their money was not tracked effectively. California does not audit how successful a program operates. In this case: how many people did the $24 billion dollars help to go from homelessness to a lifestyle where they are now self-sufficient.
Just another of a long list of California progressive Democratic programs, wasting taxpayer money. If you keep voting for these politicians - you will keep getting these types of results.
There need to be accountability, not just federal, but "501c-3 non profits." I know for a fact, that a non profit agency not only takes public/private donations, but also federal relief funds. Instead of taking that money, *Correction Edit: They should have bought* three motels that were shuttered (Motel 6 is one of them,) in Ellensburg WA, to house the homeless; instead, they bought the Ellensburg train station. Hopesource had a perfectly beautiful office building, they didn't need to buy a train station, a 32 inch projection screen, new homeless outreach vans (when they don't even outreach the homeless). I've seen many homeless people in the extreme heat, extreme cold, and the outreach vans don't even stop. This also goes for Moses lake WA. These agencies go out to do their yearly homeless count (Point-in-time PIT.), and promise the homeless with housing in return. These agencies do these counts to receive more funding from private donations, state, and federal govt. What do they do with this funding when there is an increase of homelessness.
Solution: Accountability.
@@dreadlockwarriors Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I agree with your conclusion. State agencies do not know how to handle this situation, so they contract out a lot of money with little to no accountability. Jim

This is starting to be a worldwide problem now, not just in San Francisco. There is a rising tide of people being marginalised who aren't drug addicts etc, but rather working poor.
Someone who sees reason is as refreshing as an ocean breeze. Thanks it’s nice to know that some people aren’t disillusioned.
There is plenty of work and even cheap apartments in CA. With SRO rents around 800-900 per month in SF, a person can work a minimum wage job and have plenty to live on.

It's about time....there are no half measures to addiction....stop all entitlements and programs and watch how fast things change.
Why now? And where are the homeless people going to go? And where are these people going to get the help they need?
Do you have an answer to that? because letting people shoot drugs and smoke meth on the sidewalks and Camp permanently on our city streets pissing and pooping and DOING CRIME is not the answer and taxpayers should have safe streets without ILLEGAL SIDEWALK CAMPING. Have you asked Newsom and Breed where the 24 BILLION went??
Build simple stables for these people.....seriously. Super cheap to build and do it on open state owned land. How does this action help anyone. CRIME will explode soon after you make these people desperate....... how about military tents ? We need real solutions, not fake action that does nothing
Why now?
Mental institutions need to be reopened. If the addicts refuse, jail them.
Homeless Guy: “I don’t want to be force into somewhere either.”
SF Taxpayers: “We don’t want to be forced to see trash, human excrement, tents, and needles.”
Where are they going?
In the 70’s they had too many low income housing units. Greed is the underlying problem here.
Just about all these encampments are people that don't want to follow rules because of all the drugs, drug dealers stolen property drug users
What would help is if our leaders enacted some kind of mental healthcare system that actually addressed the problems we face. If the mentally ill homeless which are a large fraction of the homeless population weren't allowed to just wander freely and instead were treated properly the problem would be greatly reduced and we could concentrate on helping those that can be helped with simple shelters and jobs and drug treatment programs. But no. Pushing them into the sea is likely to appear as a "solution" soon in this climate of social exhaustion and that aint gonna fly.
Wow what a difference looks good
Where do they go?
Yaaaaaaaaaaa!
Policians need to pay for what they are doing to the mentally challenged. Build hospitals and force people to get clean or admitted. Should be one of your ONLY jobs as goverment.
If I saw a job that says we need to remove homeless from the streets I would not except the job because we all need a place to sleep!!!!
That Ally has the best view in the world, they need a bigger check and a mansion on another Hill
So many of these people have warrants and some are likely on parole and I’m sure lots are sex offenders that aren’t required to register as such since they are living on the streets and not an actual address. I say that last one because I know of a few in my city that do exactly that and bed down near the public park and schools.
You have to be forced into a place because you have no place to. You can't sit on the street being minister to other people and destructing other people's lives. Everything has rules you have to be checked the reason why they do that is to keep people safe on the inside. Important
