    Spa Guy you are a natural born teacher with these videos! You are clear and concise with all your info and adding things that are of no concern but are good for common knowledge that all of us out here need to know. Thanks for making these videos to help us people that are not wealthy and have to DIY or not at all!

    Thank you for this smart video by a true technician . I replaced the seal and bearings on mine after studying your videos. I tried to order my parts from you in compensation but the option to ship to Canada was not there. Thank you once again.

    Our flomaster xp2 driveshaft rusted and jammed up the impeller. Your video told me exactly what to do and saved me $800 for a new pump. After cleaning up the shaft I used rust converter and then Rustguard paint to hopefully stop it happening again.Thank you Spa Guy!!

      @@SpaGuy Hello again. Our spa has been running fine for a week, but I turned it on today and it shut off after 30 seconds with an error code r10 which I'm pretty sure is a low flow code, usually caused by an air lock or low water. I pushed the manual switch (which kicks the pump into high speed) and it runs but makes a burning smell from the motor. When the motor stops it makes a whining noise and the shaft stops spinning real quick. I'm gunna pull the pump out again this weekend and I suspect the impeller is not turning smoothly. Any ideas?? (I followed your instructions and put some silicone on the impeller shaft and the rubber washer on the casing bearing and it turned smoothly after assembly)

      @@thewizard67 The impeller if properly installed will not stop the motor from working.. Most likely you bent the 2 speed switch and it is not starting on low speed..

      @@SpaGuy It runs on low speed but too slow I think to stop the low-flow warning system(?) from shutting it off

      Update: I just started to take the pump out. Almost out and I decided to try turning the shaft with my fingers. It was a bit stiff but turned fairly easily. Connected everything back up and got the missus to turn the spa on while I watched the motor shaft. The motor hummed but wouldn't start turning unless I gave the shaft a twist to start. System shut down 30 seconds later. Repeated several times. It starts if I push the button on the control pad (speed 2) but doesn't heat the water at that speed. Any advice appreciated Spa Guy!!

    @ Spa Guy I've got 2 XP2E pumps from a Leisure Bay Spa that are a 48 frame so they do exist maybe just rare. Thanks for all the informative information and videos!

    Thanks Spa Guy, I've got stuck impeller on my XP2 too, guess I will have to order a new one cause its probably busted too. It would be good if you could show us a better close up of the proper position of the relay switch tab in the rear housing, and those two marks that need to line up on the impeller shaft seal when placed on the shaft. This video is very helpful.

    My xp2 is leaking from the bottom of the suction cover, but not leaking from the drain hose.. Do you think it's just the gaskets? The shaft isn't broken like in this video. Just a very slow leak from under the cover.

    Very helpful Video !! (THANKS) *The only OTHER THING I did, was to pop out the bearing seals, grease & oil the "sealed bearing's", and then went on with he assy. - lightly greased the switch plate face. *THANKS again for this ! :- )

    Is this more of a specific Aqua-flo xp2e "only" type fixit video or is this kinda how all pumps would be fixed? I've never worked on a pump before but have a leaky GE Commercial Motors 5 BHP model: 5KCP49UN9089X pump for my Cal Spa.

    My WEAR RING IS CRACKED.. it's actually separated in one spot. I PURCHASED A WEAR RING FROM YOUR WEBSITE!! Waiting for it to come. Cuz it needs to be replaced no matter what.
    Could this be the reason why I had no jet pressure or does that have anything to do with pressure at all?

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  9 місяців тому

      Yes that has some bearing on pressure..

    • @thefix-itguyreviewer8151
      @thefix-itguyreviewer8151 9 місяців тому

      @@SpaGuy because I kept getting a flow problem and then of course the spa would shut down to prevent overheating. No pressure or FLOW in the Jets at all.. you could hear the pump running both speeds but nothing would come out of the Jets. I could hear a rattling sound it was the wear ring rattling around because it was cracked in half in one place.
      That's why I was wondering if that was the case if it would cause enough of a flow problem to stop the heater from turning on?
      I have a thermospa very basic hot tub. Doesn't even have that flow switch everyone talks about replacing. Or I think it's called a flow sensor..

    Is 5Hp on there based on start up current draw?

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  8 років тому

      Some pump manufacturers rate HP with BHP that is Break Horse Power... The is the amount of HP the motor will make for a split second.. You cannot go by any HP sticker on any pump for real HP.. You base the HP on the running Amperage on High Speed examples are for 230V 8.0 amps=1HP 10.0=2HP 12.0=3HP 14.0=4HP and 16.0=5HP, 115v would be 12.0=1HP and 16.0=2HP these are not exact for every motor but very close.. @@SpaGuyThanks for helping out. It will have to be a sharp end on that screw driver to drive into the broken plastic plug in the drain hole, yes? Isn't there a danger of ruining the threads in the hole? Or is there a special tool for this?
