After shooting a trigger for 20 years one week ago I decided to go with a hinge. I would love to have the options to use a trigger or a hinge all with one tool.

I have always wanted to try a hinge release and also try a thumb release, but for 20years I’ve just stuck with my Scott mongoose release. Kids going through private school and then college have kept me from spending $200+ for either. The GOAT seems like a perfect release for me as I am now taking on Total Archery Challenge events as my new hobby. My kids were my hobby, now it’s time for archery to move to the front.
Back into archery after 20 years and just bought the brand new mathews vxr! Still havent decided on a release yet but man i would LOVE to try this baby out!!! Just clicked on this video after watching chris bee's video on this release. Love his channel and this channel as well! I know this video is a year old but hell ill throw a comment in anyhow! Also i live about an hour and a half away from you guys so ill be stopping in soon!
I've been shooting TRU Ball releases for years and have always tried to find the two releases (a thumb trigger and a hinge) that match in shape, size, length etc and have never been able to quite do so, which means I have to change my anchor point, draw length etc. This release will change my world👍🏼🏹
I like the fact that you have both a trigger and hinge style all in one release. Ive struggled finding the perfect release that fits the same as both my hinge and thumb style release. The fact that this release is so versatile, its a must have in my book.
I like the idea that you can have one release that is multifunctional. So often we get someone in that has shot the thumb release type and we want them to go to a hinge, this requires a purchase of a new release. With the TB GOAT it is a all-in-one release! The best of both worlds! We are always looking for great things for our archery club to try! This might be the thing for our compounders to get at the start! Great review!
Hi great video as always! Three weeks ago I drove out there Lancaster Archery to purchase some Black Eagle Rampage arrows it took me three and a half hours from Western Pennsylvania to get there but it was well worth it! What a great experience! I am now looking for for new release for my Triax! my wife and I planned on driving out there last Thursday to look at releases, but our plans changed and we were unable to go. I've had many conversations with your specialist at Lancaster Archery pertaining to the right release for me, the plan was to try several releases to make my selection. The one I had my eye on was the goat I also like the just because from Carter it was suggested. Again I like your videos keep up the good work at Lancaster Archery! See you guys soon
I have been a truball lover for years now and have tried every single release you guys have put out. I would love to try the all new Goat release, as I'm sure it will be as great if not greatest release out there!! What a fantastic release. I have been shooting just over a year and have thought about trying a hinge instead of my trigger,but have been worried about the expense if I don't like it. This will stop that problem. I would probably buy one anyway when they are available in the UK.
First and foremost, thank you for sharing so much information in a manner that is easy to understand and digest. I am new to archery (using a compound bow as my 7 yr old wants to hunt) and am trying to find the "right" release aid for me. Currently, I am using a trigger style release. Other than just having more/better awareness, I am wondering if a thumb release might help to curb my sometimes bad habit of "punching." Perhaps the GOAT is just what I need. Or perhaps I just need to watch more LAS videos! And of course, sage advice is welcome. Thanks again for making the world of archery more accessible.
Would be nice to compliment the blade pro with this set as a hinge. Go from targets to the woods and back smoothly and consistently. Lots of other trigger/hinges are close, but not close enough in terms of handles and neck length.
EXCELLENT concept, being able to go from one style to another. Got a punching problem? Convert to the hinge. Or, thumb for hefty weather conditiond and hinge for indoor or steady weather where you can take your time. An amazing hybrid. Reo and the tru ball team are geniuses.
I just recently started doing this year the IBO shoots in NY and indoor spots. I changed all my equipment out this year after have the same set up for 5 years. One of my favorite new items is my Tru Ball Boss X thumb release with an upgraded Incredible trigger. Some of the guys have told me that a hinge release could help improve scores with practice. So this would be a great opportunity to get one and have the chance to use both ways should I not like the hinge style. Thank you for this chance and to everyone stay safe.

This is awesome 👏 I would love one because it’s the “Greatest Of All Time “ just like Lancaster. My girl and I got sized up for our first bow a recurve at your shop years ago. By one of your employees introduced to me as Moose. Now I shoot compound as well and have been trying to decide on a thumb or hinge. Just started using the HBC from a thumb trigger and love both. Since I shoot indoors and outdoors and use thumb button for outdoors and now the HBC for indoors, this seems the ideal release for my shooting needs. Looking forward to seeing more of this release aid!!!!

I have shot longhorn hex, longhorn pro, Stan shootoff , Truball blade pro, and now have thetruball abyss flex. I’ve tried both back tension and thumb but didn’t like switching back and forth with different feel. This release seems to address all the issues. I would love to try one. Thanks.

I have just started competing at the highest level of archery and are struggling a little with finding something that really works for me. Currently I have the HBC and have tried the goad out with in just afew shots I was in love with it. However, currently I am going to university and can't afford a new release of this level. I'm fairly new to archery and I'm looking into a thumb release. Ever since my daughter got to try one a few weeks ago, I've been a little jealous. Would love to try this one out.
I tried the HBC, but for my hand specifically, due to some nerve damage, I need more body thickness. I have also tried the blade, but didn't feel just right either. This release would give me the girth, weight and feel I need to get back to a hinge, button and out of a wrist rocket.
I would love to try this release. I think being able to try a combo release would certainly give me the flexibility to try the thumb function and know if it’s what I’d like. I have a hinge now and love it but it’s a hinge only. This would be great.
What a neat release! I really like my blade for bow hunter freestyle. But when I switch to my freestyle bow I switch to a different back tension release. I think this would be the ultimate release being that you can use the same one for both, thumb button and back tension!!

I want it because the feel of the handle is the same. You won’t have to get used to another handle when you switch which will allow for more consistent releases.
I have been thinking about buying a hinge similar to the same size as my thumb button release to be able to go between them and learn how to use them. This would be a perfect release to be able to do that.

I recently just had an apartment fire causing the loss of a lot of things and some of it was my archery stuff however I’m 26 years old and I took up archery a year ago to get closer to my late brother who was an avid archery I recently started going to competitions with my father and I’m 110% hooked and I’ve always been a fan of T.R.U. Ball and axcel ( I actually own the axcel accutouch av-41) and I think this release would be a game changer to a guy like me who’s just getting into the sport and would like to try both of these style releases
I‘m shooting Recurve and i‘ve just bought a Compound. I‘m not sure which release aid i will prefere and with the GOAT i could test both worlds, trigger and backtension.
I have been shooting thumb trigger releases for a while now, and have always wanted to try a hinge style release. I think this would be a great one to try because it will have the same exact feel either way it is set up. Would like to maybe use hinge style for 3D shoot and keep the thumb style for Hunting. I would first love to try a truball release, currently I do exactly what this release is designed for I switch back a forth between my hinge and thumb releases. This is the best of both worlds.
Always wanted to try a hinge to help in times when I struggle with target panic but there isn’t one that would match up with my old Just X and now PerfeX. This could be the perfect solution. Hope I can win to find out. Thanks for the opportunity!

I need this release, for performing a high quality release form. No target panic, because it can set as backtention release. It is a very high quality release in my opinion, and i hope, my shoot just got well too..
I have thumb release and a hinge release, but they are different releases that require a different anchor points. So I would love a release where I can switch between a hinge and thumb and keep the same anchor point and not need to purchase 2 separate releases.
I would def like to have this release. Had to sell my thumb button to buy a hinge. Now I'd like to switch back to try the thumb again but I'd have to sell the hinge. It's a vicious circle. The GOAT would solve my dilemma. Keep the vids coming.

I really need a new release as mine has just broken. And I would love to have a two in one release that holds the house hold name like truball!!! So I can try a back tension for the first time but have a great reliable trigger if I don’t like back tension!!!!

I’d like this release so I can practice with the hinge all summer to prevent any target panic then switch it over to a thumb button for hunting season. Having the option to have two releases in one is an amazing innovation.
Great Video! Love the benefit of a trigger release because of the sensitivity and connection you have with the bowstring but also love a tension release because of the benefits of proper form and technique to improve accuracy. Benefits of both worlds. Would love to have one of these! 🙂
Hi I shoot a Scott backspin release before I got it I was shooting a trigger release and I had such a bad Target panic I would get like 4 in to the center of the Target and I'd punch it every time until I got this backspin done some blank Bell shooting for about a month it's done okay for the most part but it's really big that released you have their looks pretty small. I really like how you can switch it back and fourth. Why do I watch your Channel is because edumacation I've only been shooting 3 years this last past year has been my best just because of the release I've watched a lot of UA-cam videos just on every little thing probably in the last year-and-a-half I've watched 2500 videos just want to be the best I can be I like watching you guys and learning.
This would be a great release for someone just starting out. It can help determine what release type they like better with one device instead of buying multiple units.

Ball and axcel ( I actually own the axcel accutouch av-41) and I think this release would be a game changer to a guy like me who’s just getting into the sport and would like to try both of these style releases
I wouldn't mind that release mainly because I've never used one. I have always used a tru-fire hurricane. Would be a nice change of pace.
I‘m shooting Recurve and i‘ve just bought a Compound. I‘m not sure which release aid i will prefere and with the GOAT i could test both worlds, trigger and backtension.
I have been shooting thumb trigger releases for a while now, and have always wanted to try a hinge style release.
I think this would be a great one to try because it will have the same exact feel either way it is set up.
Would like to maybe use hinge style for 3D shoot and keep the thumb style for Hunting.

Dude... It's a TRU Ball!!! Oh ,and I would love a new thumb release that would also allow me to learn proper back tension!! I've shot nothing but TRU Ball for over 20 years!
I would first love to try a truball release, currently I do exactly what this release is designed for I switch back a forth between my hinge and thumb releases. This is the best of both worlds.
I'm new to releases and have bought two so far one Scott's wirst and tru ball release .they are hard too get used to.
Always wanted to try a hinge to help in times when I struggle with target panic but there isn’t one that would match up with my old Just X and now PerfeX. This could be the perfect solution. Hope I can win to find out. Thanks for the opportunity!
I would love to try the GOAT. I haven’t tried shooting a thumb release or hinge release yet but I have really been wanting to try one out and experience other releases besides a wrist release! I am shooting truball execute now and it is by far my favorite I’ve ever shot

I need this release, for performing a high quality release form. No target panic, because it can set as backtention release. It is a very high quality release in my opinion, and i hope, my shoot just got well too..
I have thumb release and a hinge release, but they are different releases that require a different anchor points. So I would love a release where I can switch between a hinge and thumb and keep the same anchor point and not need to purchase 2 separate releases.
I would def like to have this release. Had to sell my thumb button to buy a hinge. Now I'd like to switch back to try the thumb again but I'd have to sell the hinge. It's a vicious circle. The GOAT would solve my dilemma. Keep the vids coming.
I'm a beginner moving into medium level bow shooter. I love this type of release and its time for me to start acquiring more advanced equipment. This release looks amazing!

I just bought this release Monday and all i can say is wow. Im in love already with it.
I am interested in a hand held release and I have enjoyed using truball releases. It would be nice to have a quality 2 in 1 package to shoot this year.
I really need a new release as mine has just broken. And I would love to have a two in one release that holds the house hold name like truball!!! So I can try a back tension for the first time but have a great reliable trigger if I don’t like back tension!!!!

I always use two releases and the anchor point changes from one release to another, this release is.....really awesome!!

Awesome idea for a release! To have the adjustability from hinge to thumb button would be fantastic for training purposes or to be able chance depending on conditions during a shoot.

I’d like this release so I can practice with the hinge all summer to prevent any target panic then switch it over to a thumb button for hunting season. Having the option to have two releases in one is an amazing innovation.
It would be great to be able to have a hinge for fundamentals and form practice, then a thumb for hunting if i choose so, plus its so simple!

Great Video! Love the benefit of a trigger release because of the sensitivity and connection you have with the bowstring but also love a tension release because of the benefits of proper form and technique to improve accuracy. Benefits of both worlds. Would love to have one of these! 🙂
Hi I shoot a Scott backspin release before I got it I was shooting a trigger release and I had such a bad Target panic I would get like 4 in to the center of the Target and I'd punch it every time until I got this backspin done some blank Bell shooting for about a month it's done okay for the most part but it's really big that released you have their looks pretty small. I really like how you can switch it back and fourth. Why do I watch your Channel is because edumacation I've only been shooting 3 years this last past year has been my best just because of the release I've watched a lot of UA-cam videos just on every little thing probably in the last year-and-a-half I've watched 2500 videos just want to be the best I can be I like watching you guys and learning.

I carry an hbc and a fang3 in my pouch at all times. Having one release be able to be used for both would be awesome!
This would be a great release for someone just starting out. It can help determine what release type they like better with one device instead of buying multiple units.
That is a great idea for a release. It allows you to have the same in hand feel. Definitely going to look into one of these.
